Viewing the Goodwill video footage I can surmise that she was seen leaving the store in a haste like If she was going to meet someone outside or be picked up by someone. But it doesn't make sense because why would she abandon her car. Also has there been any activity on her bank cards?

Finally sitting down to a late dinner with 3 candles lit, and I'm letting em burn as long as the LA ones burn. 😙

exsxpx310 her purse with cards were left in her car

Just returned from the vigil. It was a great success. Lots of people, saw CBS news truck and cameraman---met Lees and her sister, and Mistivon and her wonderful husband. Misti did an awesome job trying to herd the crowd and keep us all on track.

I took a lot of pictures but I am useless when it comes to posting them,.I will try though...

I met a lot of amazing, compassionate people from all over. I did meet some of MG's family there, who were very concerned and committed. There was quite a crowd--I am guessing 40 or more at least?

Misti had it well organized. Her husband took a lot of photos. we walked her apparent path and tried got imagine what happened. It is hard to compare it though because it was a clear night tonight-with no rain. So it was a very crowded, well lit area at the start of her journey. But if it was rainy, it may have been way less crowded.

I wish the LAPD had been there---but who knows, maybe they had someone there on the down low?

So glad there were that many people there. Praying she's found soon and answers for her family.

I'm so tired :(
So, at first it looked like no one was showing. Then the news trucks got there, then Sarah and friends, then dad...then more people....Sarah and her dad did interviews with KCAL and Univision 34 that should air tonight..hopefully someone can link them later. I also interviewed with the Daily News on the way there and her photographer took lots of pictures. That story should be online soon.
Sarah was distraught and I wanted to protect her. Dad is fantastic, he's a bulldog and wants everybody to do everythng they can to find his baby girl. I was told Mom was there, but I never saw her. Katydid was fabulous, OMG, such an honor to meet you! And Leese....so glad you found this site, I hope I see you two again.
So, we walked. And we talked to reporters. And looked for flyers. And looked for people. And talked to them. And thought. And thought some more.
Alan Duke showed up and did a great interview. Sarah is wonderful to talk to and passionate about finding her sister.
Lots of pictures to upload in about an hour when we get back home. Anyone local, the vigil will be on the 10:00 and 11:00 news. Nancy Grace, I'm sure will have a fantastic show when it airs.
So, a few things. Yes, there were a lot of people but as Katy mentioned, it was raining that night. So, still hard to get a good feel.
I have no idea what happened to this girl. No idea. No reason for her to be at Kaiser at all, much less in the back parking lot. The intersection she cut across had a lot of traffic. If she truly ran across diagonally, someone was chasing her. But if someone was chasing her, why not flag down a car.
Mr Mistivon said he thinks maybe she was driven to the back parking lot or her clothes were and thrown in the dumpster. But the dog handler was pretty certain that no, she was there herself and at that point, they believe she got or was put into a car. Why there and how? No idea.
The other weird thing. We put about 800 posters up on Saturday. I bet there were no more than fifty up. ALL the ones from around the Lindley/Sherman Way intersection were gone. ALL OF THEM. In every store window, on every telephone pole. Gone. How and why? One of the girls said she saw one that looked like it had been ripped from the top down the middle.
That's just paranoia, right? Thinking someone deliberately went around pulling down posters?
I'm lost. I'm sad and I'm scared for her. Whatever happened that night, I just don't think it was good. I DEFINITELY think someone took this girl, or at least is keeping/kept her.
My heart hurts :(
I love u all....I felt your support and your hugs tonight and I really needed them. I could never do any of this without all of you.
Oh, and Katydid said this was well organized...well, code4SAR pretty much directed it all from behind the scenes :)
Thank you all so much and I will post pics soon....hopefully soon, depending on how fast Mr. Mistivon gets them uploaded.
I can't WAIT to see the interviews on the news in a few minutes and I'm eagerly awaiting Nancy's show.

I don't like hearing that about the posters. Is there any security camera footage? If there were that many posters up, and now they're gone, I'm thinking that perhaps someone might be on tape ripping one down. Could lead to some clues.

I was just going to post that! I can see a few posters being taken down, but so many so quickly?? Seems like someone doesn't want them displayed.

So glad to hear the vigil got attention from the news and community.

And I just want to say that it felt so wrong tonight. I felt like I was guiding some macabre tour. I didn't like what I was doing. I like want to protect her. I don't want people ogling and, IDK it just felt wrong to me. If I'd done it myself was one thing. Maybe I should not have taken everyone that way :(

Agreed - Half asleep since I'm just skimming midnight here, but I heard the notification and had to read.... will reprocess it tomorrow - Kudos to everyone able to be on scene, sounds like a pleasant outcome

NO. It had to be done. We had to see where she might have been. It was very thought provoking to try and figure out WHT she was where she was, and in what order. I have more questions than before, but that is what needs to happen.

Every new experience is uncomfortable, you did it anyway and from all accounts I'm hearing, you pulled it off.... it's always more anxiety ridden when you Care - Because you CARE :)

One more thing. Dad said the detective told him that if I kept getting the media involved, I could get her killed. Am I doing the wrong thing? Am I signing this girl's death warrant. I see it as the more people that see her face, the more people that might have seen her or know where she is or have SOME kind of information. Maybe someone will see the news and remember something important. Or maybe they will see her and call in....what do you guys think? I would never forgive myself if I caused something bad to happen :(

Do any of you remember this heartbreaking case from a few years ago:

SAND CANYON (KTLA) – The body of Sarah Alarid, the Canyon Country teen who has been missing since leaving a New Year’s Eve party, was found on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old left the party around 3 a.m., telling friends she was headed home.

But when she never arrived, family members notified authorities and the search began.

I met her lovely, caring parents tonight at the vigil. They came out in support of Maricela's family. They have been trying to help them behind the scenes, offering them their own sad, experience in this kind of stressful situation. They have helped by contacting their people they knew in the news and the press to try and get publicity. They feel the police need to be pressured and forced to do more in this case and all cases.

I am home now too....Yes, it was such a great turnout with so many who wanted to show they care about Maricela & to show support. Numerous people who never met her yet attended to show she is being thought of, searched for, & are praying for her homecoming.

It was heartbreaking to see all of the many fliers NOT on any of the businesses including the Goodwill, some were ripped off from the various poles they were so diligently placed. I have an ugly feeling they are deliberately taking them down but WHY?! And by WHOM? Ugh....

@Katydid23 It was so nice to meet you this evening, you were so sweet to bring the extra candles! I will never forget the compassionate homeless woman we met who stopped to ask us about the vigil. She was so sorry to hear about Maricela and mentioned "there are bad men in the area". Her heart went out to MG and her family it was very touching.

@Mistivon I was also nice meeting you too!! Keep up the great work and just know so many of us are here for you. Hugs~~

After tracing Maricela's steps and actually being able to be in the area tonight I agree with Katydid23 it was hard to compare clear night vs. the rainy night of her disappearance. The strip mall was heavily lit with lots of people & cars. Where as the back parking lot of that mall was darker & more bare. The Kaiser parking lot also had numerous parked cars & light , I was surprised to see the area with the dumpsters since that appeared to also have some light and when I peaked behind the wall next to them it looked like a 'junk yard' filled with cars. Not sure if it was that or someone's home? I wonder if someone spoke to the owner who resides there to see if they heard anything that night.

And I am so glad a few news organizations were there tonight. It shows that they are taking this disappearance seriously and putting her story out there which is greatly needed. From some of the people I talked to this evening, they said they were unaware of this happening.......sad indeed.

I don't get that. If they thought she was voluntarily missing, why would publicity get her killed?

The only reason they would say that, in my opinion, is if she is being held by traffickers or someone like that. I don't know what to think.

But if that was true, why wouldn't they be searching the dumpster and getting the surveillance footage from Kaiser and Jons? uhhhhh

PLEASE do not feel GUILTY. You are not doing anything wrong.

The only reason I can think of for them to say that is if they know something. And if they do know something then FFS let the family know. If they haven't warned family to keep quit then they don't know squat so keep doing what you're doing. IMO
