Police are also tracing calls made with Le's cellphone. They say that the last calls from that phone were made around noon on Saturday. "

Wasn't it stated that she left her cell phone in class?

Ooops, my bad, I guess I should have looked around first.
Students said Le only took her cell phone and keys, leaving her purse and wallet.

On another note, lots of reports that the family is denying that the calls even exist.

Great find! But I'm wondering if those cameras only snap photos for red light runners. LE should definitely check it out though.

If you run a red light, those cameras can take a photo of your face and show it to you in the mail.

We have those type of camera-looking things on almost every street-light in our city. They are not cameras - they are sensors. They sense that there is a car waiting for a light or sitting in traffic. If there is no cross-traffic, the light will automatically change (some lights do this by a sensor that is underneath the asphalt). They also help when there is really heavy traffic at busy intersections by reducing stops and starts and timing with other lights in the area via radio frequencies. Also, a camera that snaps a picture of people running a red light would be very close to the vicinity of the red light itself, not perched on top of street lights so far away.

A couple of new events planned by the family of ML:

"On Wednesday, July 13, the family will distribute fliers, meeting at a location on 26231 Mission Blvd. in Hayward.

Search parties will also resume on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16. Volunteers will meet at the command center based out of the Chanh Tam Buddhist Temple of Hayward on 25350 Cypress Ave. in Hayward. The search will last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Search locations and details will be provided the morning of the search."

Also, the reward money has now been raised to $100,000.

It has now been 45 days. :(

Found this additional info regarding the flier distribution on July 13: It will be from 6:30-8:30PM at the Kmart Parking Lot @ 26231 mission blvd, Hayward CA.

Bumping this for search today and the $100,000 reward.

See the thread about helping today's searchers out with lunch.

When I was young I was told to count to 50 if I was mad before I spoke.
Well I have counted to 50 D A Y S.
Why don’t we see any news from the Hayward PD.
Are they asleep at the helm?
Any news helps the family, Statements like… Evidence is still being analyzed, interviews are still being done………………
Anything to keep the story in the public and give the family hope……..
And Kaiser, What a shame how they have handled this.
I have never seen a statement from them yet,
They (In my opinion) are treating this like a case of Syphilis.
Their theory, Yeah if you leave it alone it goes away,
well it doesn’t it eat will Eat your brain.
I think at least to acknowledge to the public that something happened at one of their garages and they are cooperating as much as possible. By saying nothing it looks like they are involved or withholding info. That’s how it looks.
And back to the Police, They say she is dead so Why wont they release the cell tower ping records, are they worried that they botched the investigation and someone else will find her.
At least with that information it could give someone a opportunity to search that area.

Someone was murdered a block away from the hospital garage yesterday also in their car.

:ohwow:

I wish HLN would stop with the 24/7 coverage of the felon and focus on cases that are not 3 years old (and solved to a certain extent). We know where Caylee is, we don't know where Michelle is. My goodness, I can't believe I'm thinking of boycotting HLN too!

Why hasn't Michelle been found yet? This is quite bizzare.

Regarding yesterday's (Fri, 7/15) search, only a dozen volunteers came this time. They searched Palomares Canyon, but apparently had nothing to report.

However, brother Michael Le said,
"I don't want them to find anything," he said, adding that as time goes on, the possible scenarios get more and more grim. They had been hoping that it would turn out Michelle "would be totally OK and wanted to go into seclusion, but we can't kid ourselves that much anymore."

"The best case would be that she was hurt, hopefully not too hurt," he said. "Now she's healed, held alive somewhere, waiting for us to find her."

I hope the turnout is greater today, being the weekend.

50 days now, and no word from the Police, as Mox has pointed out. I wish we knew more details to help us brainstorm.

It didn't make the news last night, so I fear nothing new.

Yea Sarx, We all still keep a' hoping her being found will be sooner than later. You'd think the news would at least say one little thing about Michelle's case, like acknowledging everyone who went out searching for her over the weekend. In Portland with Kyron the news was always very good about that. Of course Hayward is much busier with news.

She is somewhere out there, just like Kyron and Lindsey. Time will work it's magic way. xox

How was Saturdays search? Did alot of people show up to help? Did anyone find anything hopeful?

7-17-2011 Family Update
Posted by MichelleleMissing in Family-Blog

Hayward, CA (July 17, 2011) – On Friday, July 15 and Saturday July 16, Michelle Le’s family resumed its search party efforts. Over 100 volunteers attended to search areas in the rural East Bay; some came from as far as Florida. Searchers and attendees included Team Amber Search and Rescue, kidnap survivor Midsi Sanchez and the KlaasKids Foundation.

“It’s a mix of emotions searching for any evidence as to where someone you love could be,” says Krystine, Le’s cousin. “You’re hoping you find something and you hope you don’t at the same time. You want to end this nightmare, but you want a happy ending.” [snipped]

The family is planning to hold a public street rally in honor of Michelle on Wednesday, July 27 at 7pm, exactly two months since her disappearance.

Thank you for that update, cloudajo. The family is getting amazing support, it seems.

I'm glad to hear there were over 100 volunteers; that must mean that Saturday's turnout was a good one, since on Friday there were only a dozen. Probably Fridays are tough since most people work?

This family is very resourceful, aren't they? ML would be so proud to know her brother and cousin are stepping up and doing everything they can to bring her home. It is so touching.

I really hope the Hayward PD have been quiet because they are coming close to bringing a resolution to this crime. This family needs answers. And they need Michelle home!

Starting to work on some search maps for this case. Can anyone bring forward the pertinent locations (the more specific the better)? Greatly appreciated!

Pretty sparse info, from what I can find.

June 17, 18, 19 search

"Dozens of searchers spread out along a several mile stretch of remote Niles Canyon looking for any sign of missing nursing student Le."

On this video, reporter Kraig Debro of KTVU was standing on State Road in Fremont, and I think what he said was that up the road from him a little way on Palomares Rd dozens of volunteers were conducting a search.

"Volunteers on Saturday will search new areas that are near where people looked for Le last week, she said."

July 15, 16

"Those who did attend dropped into a striated creek bed alongside Palomares Road, a picturesque ravine marred by the refrigerators, ovens, couches and car parts -- even an engine block and part of a chassis -- that have been discarded there."

That's about all I have been able to find.

Thank you SO much slowpoke. It is a tremendous help to me when I've got great people like you working on this kind of research so I can focus on gridding. All of this info helps me to narrow things down.

Do we know what kind of car the POI drove? SUV/truck or car? Will make a difference as to where they could have pulled off. TIA.
