was that she fell at a gas station onto the concrete and a "witness" finally called 911, when they arrived the "witness" informed Police that she had been drinking the last few days and was falling all of the time....again curious about who the witness is that knows her so well.

Now, I came upon a homeless man in Mpls who had slipped off of the sidewalk and into the street, hitting his head. Clearly he was quite intoxicated, but the back of his head was still against the sidewalk, and i was afraid for his neck. When the police showed they insisted he was just tanked, and were trying to get him up. I pitched a fit because I was sure he was injured and they were blowing him off-sure enough when they tried to guide him to his feet, I could see his skull and gray matter through the back of his head...they got an ambulance in a hurry. Still, that was the only sign of injury, if you understand my point.

They are saying she fell down at a gas station or something. I wish we had more facts.

I wish so too concernedperson.
Falling down at a gas station wouldn't give the types of injuries/burises being described....at least I don't think so.

You would have to go to extreme measures to find good qualities in a murderer.

Actually, not. There could be a murderer teaching your kids in Sunday School and doing a really fine job of it. You just don't know and honestly have no way TO know.

I've been in the regular jails (as a visitor only!) and seen the nasty scum who are there for simple drug charges - absolutely no social skills or respect for authority or anything but screaming at their visiting wives/girlfriends for not whoring themselves to give them money in jail. Nasty people who I know will be let back out but I wish never would be! I've been to death row and seen many, many inmates pick up something someone has dropped for them, take turns at the microwave and be just as sweet as anyone (if not sweeter) on the outside. Social skills out the wazoo, friendly and respectful. I'd rather meet them in a dark alley than those drug dealers I saw in the regular jail.

If everyone convicted of murder was a monster, we could identify killers just by looking at them. We can't. Because they are just like us, only in a moment, something we have isn't there for them to stop them from whatever their crime was.

Not everyone kills with no remorse or is cold blooded. Some, yeah, but not all.

I've found alot of good in alot of inmates. Sure, I know of some who are no good right down to the bone - people who revel in their incarceration like the famous names you read of. But the average everyday person who is on death row - some of who are innocent, some of who just screwed up 20 years ago, or were with someone who killed someone, but didn't kill anyone - lots of reasons they are there. Not all are really awful people.

It doesn't matter to me if you believe me or not, or agree with me or not. I know what I know and I live my life according to what I know. It's a wonderful life and I make no excuses for it. :-)

Besides, on here, we only read what people THINK they MUST have been THINKING - when if you just ask them, you get the rest of the story straight from the horse's mouth. Much more entertaining, in my opinion.

Ohhhh BeeBee.:( I'm so sorry this happend to your daughter. How horrible. I hope your daughter heals well physically and emotionally!

I'm sorry for your daughter, too! How horrible it must be, not only to be hurt, but to have it be by someone who is supposed to love and protect you. I hope she can recognize abusive patterns and steer clear of anyone who shows those tendancies in the future!

Any more news about CP? I think she needed brain surgery, and by now I would guess she's had it. Information seems suddenly gone.

My daughter was beaten by her boyfriend a few months ago and he told the police the same story. She fell down the stairs. She was beaten so badly and had a small brain bleed. However, there was a bite mark on her cheek. They took pictures of the bite mark and asked her boyfriend if the stairs had teeth. He's finally to be sentenced this month and after spending this last few months in jail will next get to spend some in prison.
Yikes! I hope that your daughter has healed and has kicked this guy to the curb. WHY do people have to physically abuse others? I just do not get it. What is the point of it? Even if this guy was beaten as a child, you would think that he would break the cycle. I hope that this guy uses his time in prison to attend anger management classes. I also hope that your daughter does not take him back, even if he changes. The risk for reinjury or death is way too great, IMO.

... WHY do people have to physically abuse others? I just do not get it. What is the point of it? ....

If that question were answered, what a great day it would be! I'm thinking it's different reasons for different abusers. Low self esteem being the top of the list, anger management issues being a close second and I'm sure there are several more "reasons" that we just can't understand, those who don't do it ourselves.

I know I've been angry enough to spit nails at my teenager, and probably fantasized more often than I should about what a smack on the mouth would accomplish - but something inside me won't let me hurt her. I wish I could bottle this stuff and sell it. Whatever it is that keeps my anger from bubbling over into violence.

The best we can do is to raise our kids to respect other's rights to not be hurt - live by example and they'll pass it on.

Everyone should read the actual police report, which is linked to a number of the newspaper articles. The newspaper and television stories have been sloppily written. There are several people who contributed information to the police. There was a witness at the gas station, but a different witness, id'd as her "boyfriend" who offered the drunken story later at the hospital.

OJ was not at the gas station. Someone else at the station called 911. There was no police report filed at that time. Someone at the hospital called the police later and interviewed OJ and someone else there.

I believe that the investigation is ongoing and that her family is shielding her and her private medical information from the press.

Nan, there are physical/chemical changes that occur in the brain when abuse has occurred. Sometimes victims even learn to become attached to their abusers. They learn "this is the way to be". Michael Jackson is a perfect example of an abused child who became an abuser. Not everyone does. Fortunately, I was only molested one time- that was bad enough- but I was old enough and I will never let that happen to my child. I can overcome any dark thoughts I might have of harming her.

I wasn't aware of chemical changes that occur - but it makes alot of sense out of some things that didn't make sense before. Thank you for sharing. :-)

So are you saying that drug users are worse than killers? I wouldn't want to meet up with a killer anywhere any time.

Yes. I'm not saying that's the case in general, but it's certainly what I've seen.

Just because someone is on death row, doesn't mean they are a killer. Even someone who killed one person once, doesn't mean they'll kill again, just depends why they were in that situation. Serial killers, that's another story - there is something in them that would make them kill again - but not just anyone. I'm not a serial killer type victim (fat people are harder to kidnap and hide the body)- but druggies needing a fix will be more likely to hurt me to get at money, since there is no victim "type." That is why I say I'd rather meet up with a death row inmate than any one of the jail inmates I've seen.

I also work with jail inmates, only not all of them, only the ones who are considered to be well adjusted enough to work as trustees. There are some inmates I only see from a distance who are so mentally unbalanced there is no way I would want to be anywhere near them and yes, these are the ones who are in there connected with drug charges.
I don't trust any of them but do at times enjoy a conversation with them, they can be polite and have a sense of humor about things but you never forget that there is a reason why they're locked up.

They can be more manipulative than Hannibal, or dumber than a stump - there is no telling on first appearances which one, either!

It looks like this is once AGAIN going to get away with his illegal behavior.

I just have to agree with you. I don't understand all the bruising and intensive care business unless there was a strong reason for it. Falling down at a gas station doesn't do it for me.

Frankly, I think she knows what happened and is afraid to talk about it. I guess I can't say I blame her considering his record.
