My heart dropped - NEVER been a sighting of ANY children since the couple moved in September? Oh FRACK! Speaks to NO toys in the backyard, not a single one to be seen.

My point yesterday about the plain clothes detectives from BPD being at the home with CCPD this week, makes sense in light of these new revelations.

Now there is a reliable source confirming information i have read elsewhere about NO children being seen here I can ask did these little boys ever leave Bakersfield?
This gives me shades of Taylor-Rose Williams who was already long dead when her mother moved to a new apartment and reported her missing.

Police Chief gives update

  • The chief was not aware that Orrin had a fractured leg.
  • The chief says they do suspect foul play based on the fact that they don't know how the children left the yard.
  • The search warrant was obtained easily - the kids were missing.
  • The other children were removed as is routine until there is an investigation done by CPS.
  • 11:05 Reporter: Did the luminol find anything? Chief: Not that I know of.
  • Interesting facial expression when responding to a question about whether they are searching in Bakersfield. About 13:05.
  • About 16:30 - the chief confirms that there has never been a sighting of any of the children since the family has been there (since September).
  • He says near the end that he will have to look into whether or not the investigators want to release the 911 call.

wait so NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN ANY KIDS??? ever??? since sept?

also, BBM, this means LE is hemming and hawing because they have no actual evidence, not that they dont think something bad happened.

The four children from TW and JW’s home are being detained with child services.

Chief Walker says they will take any help from the community they can get. And if the community wants to continue looking for the boys, they are not going to stop them.
California City Police Chief says case of missing boys is still an active investigation

California City Police Chief Jon Walker said “there are things in the works” but he declined to say what they were as he didn’t want to compromise the investigation. He said he does suspect foul play, but didn’t comment on whether he believed the boys were alive.
California City boys remain missing, no suspects identified, police chief says | KGET 17

The boys' biological mother, RD, arrived from Bakersfield to help with the search. In an interview last week, she told KERO-TV that she blamed the couple for the boys' disappearance.

"They did something," she said. "I feel like my kids are somewhere around here. I can feel it."

"That's understandable. I would think the same thing," TW responded. "That's exactly the point, and if we can find our babies ... that's all I want, is to find our babies."

@PommyMommy thanks for posting the update and some highlights from chief Walker! Finally we hear from LE! A couple of things I'd like to add:

In the very beginning a reporter mentioned that some video was taken from neighbors. The chief didn't respond directly to his comment. So does LE have video?

Also, the chief made it clear that LE isn't currently searching beyond the house and the neighborhood, IOW no searches of the surrounding desert. That makes me think LE may have evidence that the kids didn't leave the yard although the chief didn't say anything either way. But usually when a child goes missing from the home one of the first searches involves setting up a grid search of the surrounding area so this is interesting.
BBM That question was strange. The reporter began by stating that the neighbors had provided video and then asked how much the neighbors were involved. IIRC, the chief answered, "peripherally." He didn't confirm or deny the existence of video but just after the 3 minute mark he stated that they have nothing that shows how they got out of the yard. I'm going with they were provided video but so far, it has not been helpful. MOO

Great find and run down. Along with @MsMarple i noted that comment from the reporter that BPD collected video from neighbors. One more note to add :
  • Chief says they Dug backyard for any clues and to rule out that kids were in the yard... when asked if backyard search found anything useful, Chief said No.

Because they were never in that house IMHO. This is going to be devastating. Why.

Well, that’s pretty damning info. Not a single sighting of SIX children in 4 months? All I can say is thank God the 4 others are in protective custody because I think those precious little souls have been gone a long time. MOO and sitting in my hands for now.

Yeah, it was interesting. Unfortunately the reporter piggybacked another question about how involved other agencies were so I took the chief's answer to mean that those agencies were only peripherally involved and that he didn't address the comment about video. I could be wrong though.

And where did the reporter get that information? Maybe from interviewing neighbors?

Also, I hope LE is investigating the adoptive parents' prior home.

i think the video has nothing to show how the kids got out of the yard because no kids appeared in the video. i think this is one of those cases where they say they "have nothing" because they dont have literal evidence.

im wondering if this move was hasty and for a "reason". i wonder if the big kids have been w grandparents all this time.

Yeah that would make sense especially as the police chief said people definitely know more. I think maybe he could be referring to the grandparents? Because who would really want to lift kids away from perfectly good caregivers (grandparents) if there wasn’t more to it especially that close to Christmas. My heart hurts for all 6 kids....

Sounds terrible for little Orrin and Orson. :(
I noticed there were no toys in the back yard.
Imo.
