Does she have a connection to the Reno/Tahoe area? I did not dig into her background, but it sounds like she may have an addiction problem. If this is the case, Reno is not a great place to be. If you have a search going on there, don't overlook the weekly motels on 4th St. :-(

I don't know that she has a connection there. She does have a history of alcohol abuse and has been spiraling down recently due to drinking. That is why she was losing custody of her girls and her food suppliers cut her off (non payment). She was living with her boyfriend but would frequently not come home for a day or two due to partying. She frequented Black Oak Casino, was recently 86'd from there due to drinking. That's why locals and friends think she would have headed over the pass to Reno/Tahoe casinos. She's been very distraught with her life in the weeks leading up to her disappearance.

I really hope there is a break soon, this is all very worrisome! Alcoholism and gambling destroys so many families, I know from experience. I do see how the Reno/Tahoe area would be a logical step in tracking someone with her addictions. Have media outlets there broadcasted her info?

No broadcast that I'm aware of in Reno/Tahoe but the local Sheriff here did say that they forwarded her missing poster to LE in every county in CA and NV. With her recent behavior one could only hope that if she did plan this disappearance she would have a run in with LE in the near future and her family will at least know where she is.

I still think the best case scenario is that she checked into a drug/ alcohol treatment center, though I doubt that is the case. She has a huge support network in this area for alcohol treatment. I'd think she would have called a friend first instead of leaving her car on the highway and then checking into treatment. One can always hope though!

I'm still hoping. AnjL I wonder if she might've been embarrassed and gone somewhere else for treatment, if that's the route she went. Do you know her well enough to know? One positive I keep hanging on to in this situation is if she DID go for treatment somewhere, they would not reveal that information. She could effectively drop out of the world for weeks or months. Of course there's still the scary fact that her car got where it did somehow... but, I'm still hoping it's a better scenario.

I think I know her well enough to say that she would have reached out to any one of the multiple friends in her local recovery support system first, but I don't know if anyone can be certain what she was thinking that Saturday after drinking at Eproson House. She had told friends that her and some man had a room at a motel here in Twain Harte. I wish LE would at least confirm or deny that fact. I know they've been at the hotel investigating, but they haven't released any of their findings yet.
Maybe she woke up Sunday and her and guy decided to split town?

I was too. Actually I had that hope in a couple of cases here and unfortunately it didn't happen in any of them. I hope she's ok, and maybe she can celebrate next Mother's Day with them.

Tomorrow is Patty's daughters 13th birthday. It sure would be nice if her mom were home to celebrate it with her!

Me too! I guess that's why I want to believe that she left her car there and disappeared on purpose instead. Just seems like it would be a much better outcome for her if that's the case.

Man... that just doesn't look like a lake that someone would go dip their toes in, but I guess everyone has a meaningful spot. I think I'm like you AnjL, I keep hoping she just decided "eff it all" and took off, because that would mean she's safe and can come back when she's ready.

What's happening with the restaurant? Is it still closed?

I'm not sure, been working a lot lately and have had no time to go down the hill and check to see if restaurant is open. I doubt it is though because her boyfriend/chef is now working at Eproson House here in Twain Harte.

Do you have a link to mainstream media regarding your post? WS mods don't allow rumor/here-say to be posted to protect the victim and integrity of the site and her case. But if you have a link to back up anything said please post it! We are allowed to speculate on what we think may have happened. Are you a local person also? And do you have any ideas or thought on where she is or what may have happened to her? I'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas.....welcome to websleuths!!

I was posting a speculation based on a conversation I overheard. I thought it would be safe to post in here. I would never post this to FB. I apologize.

I am local and Patty's missing was top blog among our small community. Someone always knows someone, who knows someone.

I am as confused as everyone else regarding timeline and speculations of who saw what and when.
