That's what they said you can check the thread. Not many people are writing them back like me and maybe one other person.
 
I read through the thread on fb and Toddp76 is right, they seem to not think outside the box. Although now, they would consider foul play. They would not consider that he would leave his family, however he did go off for the last hike by himself, in a different country, on an unknown trail to him....

Great points. And I do agree with others that's it's unlikely that he has run off to start over...but just about every time that has in fact happened there's always been comments from family and friends that that person would 'never leave their family.' Unfortunately to me (as someone who has followed cases for years), those words don't mean much.

Paul Miller of Guelph, Ont., 51 disappeared on July 13, 2018.
"In a phone interview Sunday from the same trail, Robinson said that she, her husband and friends kept searching -- with help from strangers -- to find out what happened so Miller's wife and two children can find some peace.

"They're all sort of clinging to the hope that, you know, maybe he fell and hit his head and has amnesia and maybe he's still going to come home eventually," Robinson said.

"So I think finding him would at least allow them to move on. It's the not-knowing, I think, that's hard."

There have already been extensive searches of the rugged terrain, both last summer after his disappearance and last November when Robinson and her husband continued on a smaller scale for nearly two weeks.

Even though Miller was physically fit and an experienced hiker, Robinson said the trail can be difficult to travel because it's so mountainous, dry and hot -- even in May, let alone July.

"Today, right now, it's supposed to get up to, I believe, 31 degrees (Celsius). But in July, it was even hotter. So when you're out here, you really have to drink a lot of water."

In addition, distances can be hard to judge and sometimes even big boulders look small until they're close."
 
From this article, also posted above. Finally a confirmation of the witness names Neil, who posted on here a accounting of running into (most likely) Paul. AND news to me, that dogs followed his scent as far as the oasis.

Leads me to once again state that Paul became disoriented and lost trying to find his way back. Likely the Oasis was a bit of a respite if he was overheated. Also he was trying to photograph Big Horn Sheep, so it's always possible he saw some, or maybe some tracks, and followed to get a picture, then became lost trying to find the trail back.

"Some of these boulders are huge, like bus size and bigger," she said. "You have to look under things because it would be so easy for clues to kind of slip under into some of the crevices."

The conditions mean it's unlikely that Miller survived long, according to Robinson and professional searchers who spent five days looking for him last July before concluding that the heat was also a danger to themselves.

"There was a witness that saw him part-way in. The witness was on the way out. He said they spoke briefly. He said Paul was moving really fast, which made sense because I've hiked with Paul many times and he's a fast hiker."

The original search included a dog team that followed Miller's scent as far as the oasis.

"So we know he got at least that far. We're not sure what happened after that," Robinson said.

She added that, whatever happened, she hopes it was quick.

However, he was not supposed to hike alone that day. His wife bailed at the last minute. They had planned to hike this trail the day before together, but rain deterred them.

They had been traveling together for (2?) weeks on an anniversary trip, and hiking together regularly. It was just the two of them. I find it hard to believe he could plan this last minute "ditch my life and start over" bit without her being aware of it. Also why wait til the very last day and the very last hike? He didn't know she would decide not to hike. Even if he was able to plan something like that, how and where did he go? Did he have help?

Family is considering foul play, true, but have stated that LE won't help because they feel whatever happened, happened in the NP, and therefore it's not their jurisdiction. They can't get very far on that theory.

I’m sorry I’m a broken record, but they need to get underneath those big boulders and look up in the crannies.

You have been consistent on that. Hope someone is searching as you suggest and have always suggested. Especially now towards the Oasis and in any possible direction he may have been able to wander off from there. Since that report of dogs finding his scent as far as the Oasis. I find that to be a big time clue, one that no unmentioned before. iir.
 
I find it odd that now they say the dogs tracked him to the Oasis, where in the beginning they didn’t pick up a scent. Then reports of the trail -is it easy or not - that keeps changing because now it sounds like an extremely hard hike by descriptions. If LE won’t look into it, what about hiring a PI, use the money. If they find Paul his camera will tell the tale if that is shared.

Ironic too that original searching stated no scent from dogs and now family stated dogs found scent all the way to the Oasis. Perhaps that was something to released to the public earlier, though can't figure out why it wouldn't be. JMO

Also that family is confirming witness halfway on trail (Neil/witness) and previous early statement was witness saw him at the trailhead. Maybe again, takes time to get the facts straight.

After thinking on this a bit, its very possible they really have examined his computer, phone, etc., it’s something any family would do. I can see no other reason for them to consider him possibly not being in the park as a possibility. JMO
Re FB, I might consider but don’t have an account.
