Well... that press conference didn't tell us very much.

EXCEPT they haven't searched the car yet because they're waiting on a warrant. Does this mean they haven't checked the trunk yet or that they haven't done a thorough search? I would think the immediate possibility of risk to Pearl's life would give them enough probable cause to at least open the trunk, right?

I didn't find it on local news...

I am 100% sure they checked the trunk.

I'm new to this thread but not to the case, which I'd been following on news sites until this afternoon when I watched/read all reports from the county in which I live.

Considering how he took Pearl, chances are slim that he spared her life. That said, there is always hope.

His motive/intentions may never be discovered.

I find it difficult to believe that LE hasn't yet opened the trunk, but said vehicle was not the one he used to abduct her so perhaps that is a factor?

ETA: Thinking further, this is a case of a Missing Child and so I would expect a judge to grant the search warrant immediately.

The gold Saturn was the one the Amber Alert was for, and he was spotted driving in- so presumably that's the one he abducted her in. That's the one that needs searching. He died in a different vehicle which he got into.

Wait, does this mean she was never in the car or just that she didn't go down to Solvang with him? Have they used dogs on the car? Did they search the trunk???

Idk but I listened to the scanner. Someone spotted the car -the gold Saturn and gave the 911 operator the plate number. Then subject bailed out of the vehicle and ran on foot into the trailer park.

UPDATE: Deputies searching near San Rafael Bridge after #AmberAlert suspect seen on surveillance cameras in area. https://t.co/uTkSpG0izk

Awww NO. That is not good news. The San Rafael Bridge is very high and is over the rocky bay. It is a recovery effort if that is the case.

This never sounded good from the beginning and there was never a feeling of hopefulness ... I mean I had hope ... unfortunately no hopeful news came out--- it's started bad and has just gotten worse.

If the guy was that desperate, I think she is not with us anymore. :( I had a very bad feeling from the beginning. I want to know why?

This is so disturbing. I do hope we get some answers as to why this happened, and that they find her. That is a busy bridge, I wonder what time he was seen crossing it.

ETA it says 9:30am, there is plenty of traffic at that time. If the thought was that he threw her off of the bridge someone would have likely witnessed it. For those who are unfamiliar with the area, near that end of the bridge there is San Quentin on one side, some hills off of the freeway, a broke-down pier on the other side, and the bay. It's a suburban area, not rural, lots of traffic, two freeways divide there, lots of shops etc. Hopefully they will be able to get some good recording off of local security cameras.

They said he was on Skr Francis Drake Blvd. that is near the bridge but not on it. It's close to the water and San Quentin state prison.

Idk I can't fathom what can anger a human so much that they can drag a young girl begging for her life and ... Do what we all fear has been done. I've cried after killing a spider from guilt so it really blowwwws my mind ... Although I'll be honest I genuinely do feel like a lot of the guilty parties in these cases could use some medieval torture and punishment but they aren't human they're evil incarnate
