Yes, it's way too precise. I couldn't even give someone that precise a time jogging around the block for a few minutes, let alone on a new trail going several miles!
Not forgetting that phone reception may be patchy up there on the trails too. (And he didn't even take it with him.)

And then she reported him missing to the police just 1.5 hours later. It's not very long to wait, is it...?

He had an executive job and could've been called to a meeting or anything....

It sounds like a very constrained life run by the clock to the nearest minute. That in itself is stressful.

Maybe not too odd? Im not familiar with the strava (?) device or app, but does it give you an eta similar to how Google maps does for driving? If so, perhaps he just was stating what it said was the eta. But, I don’t know. Just trying to guess.

Can someone confirm what time the police started their search? A wife calling to report a late husband is one thing, but it doesn’t seem likely police would begin a search and rescue mission for a fully capable adult after only 1 1/2 hours of being late, unless there was some other reason to be concerned, like a concerning letter was left or other communication.

I read they began searching that afternoon. I think 2 hours later?

It’s a format on Reddit where you make yourself available to answer questions, while you are live on the keyboard generally. Reddit’s tips aren’t the greatest on this at the moment, ppl making snide remarks abt “wannabe detectives” and “smug runners”. It’s under the server for the Bay Area. For even my best runner bro, I’d never posture as the know-all with my personal e-mail; I’d refer to PD. AMA means Ask Me Anything. Kind of a celebrity feel to it.
The AMA that Chris did was on the Searching FB page, not Reddit, just to be clear. It is basically a live Q&A.

The photo of the print still troubles me.
PK's scent just....vanishing? Super odd.

What time did he mail a package again? That would actually be the last time he was visually known to be alive, correct?

And then he spoke with his wife by phone around 11? Has that call been verified to have been made from the park?

<modsnip: Referenced info was removed>

I've been trying to learn more about the terrain in and around the route he planned to run, and have heard plenty say they just ran it, and no way he got lost, hurt etc, and others claim exactly the opposite. I still lean towards his not being in the park.

Also, PK says he would need to be IN Stockton by 12-1230, and finished with the run by 10:30....

This is a couple hours earlier than what actually seemed to have happened? i.e. he phoned JY around 11 to say he was starting his run....the end would be around 12:35....

Just thinking aloud here, really. Wondering why the timeline shifted when everything else seems to be so tight? Mailing the package wouldn't cause it, right?

I'm also completely, utterly stumped aa to the symbolism of Fort Point Villager. Anyone??

Edited to add:

from the AMA

If you haven't taken the time to go for a run with the intent to just stop and sit and enjoy nature, especially with a beer, I highly recommend it. Philip now would too.

Does this strike anyone else as...strange?

I believe LE said 9am. Seems like a long gap to get to trailhead at 10:45, maybe there was traffic?

So is he flattering Philip’s style? His great taste?

Hmmmm…..
two ideas for Fort Point Villager reference (being a local) --

(1) Fort Point is a location in the SF Bay. its ~1-1.5 hrs from their hike. should LE be following this lead as if its a location hint? idk..
(2) Fort Point's motto: "Fort Point is an independent San Francisco beer company made up of people who believe the simple things in life can be a whole lot better."

im leaning towards #2, but still a very odd inclusion, CT

Very strange.

Going back to the texts: I wonder if the tenant unit is in their home? i.e. do they own a multi-family? Could the "demolition" possibly be the "home situation"?
Their home is a duplex. An article said his parents live with them, not sure if in the same part of the duplex or another unit, from some comments on the GF re: some kid activities and classes it appeared they may provide childcare. So, they may or may not have seen P on Friday night.

His father looks beyond devastated. I have not seen PK's mother mentioned, so assumed it was only his dad? And assumed he lived directly with them? It would be odd (IMO) to refer to your parents living space as "the tenant unit."

Would be very helpful to know if PK was seen by parent(s) on Friday night or Saturday morning at home!

the grand question i think we all have is what evidence do we have that (1) CT dropped PK home (2) CT was not with PK that night or the following morning

Well, the camera footage of PK dropping the package of at a postal store on the Saturday morning.

According to LE he was in normal street clothes and not running gear.
So he would have had to go home (or elsewhere?) and change from the Friday evening's run, before heading out again Saturday morning.

But a question: were the clothes he wore at the parcel store found in his car? If not, where are they?

We are lead to believe he drove straight from there to the trail parking lot.

I have seen photos of his mom hanging flyers, etc that are posted on the Searching FB. The demolished tenant unit can't be where his parents are currently living, maybe there is a basement tenant unit in each of the sides of the duplex, not sure.

Makes sense. Perhaps they own a completely separate investment property?
