I'm not in law enforcement but I have never seen a single case where someone has been forced to close an account (in branch) under duress, for all practical purposes that does not happen. And if it was multiple accounts that's completely unheard of.

No one said anything about any account being "closed" that I am aware of. The accounts were drained. I have seen many instances were people were forced to withdraw funds. Lookup the Petit family murders. Not often I agree but ANYTHING can happen. It's a crazy world!

They also said they believe he is in LA County somewhere. That sounds like they know he is still alive. How do they know that? I hope and pray Rich is ok. I went to high school with him.

My guess is they do NOT "know" that he is in LA county. They likely only know that the they were told that he was dropped off there by the one or both of the 2 men from Pachanga. Keep in mind that if those men are involved then they would not likely tell the police the truth right? I think if they said they dropped him off in Compton that would be the last place I would search for him. If they did do something to him then he is likely closer to Pachanga. Lot's more rural and wooded space near Pachanga than Compton. I doubt they would want to drive 2 hours away with a kidnapped person in their car when all they need from him is the cash in his pocket and his pin numbers. His cell phone making it to Compton does not mean HE made it to compton.

Perhaps they knew he just won money and this was a simple yet incredible dumb crime of opportunity. He's on his way home and going to take a rideshare, they offer to take him home as one of them works for a rideshare company. Then they rob him, drop him off in a nearby concealed area either constrained or worse and drive to compton. It might be this simple.

What about a large check that would be e-deposited? We assume atms but there are other ways to drain an account quickly. And ways to cover up the transfer (using the account of a dead person) etc. jmo

Right but then you would have to get the money from the dead persons account and you are right back where you started with a money trial. I think we may be overthinking this "drained account" business. Perhaps this was an account or accounts that he didn't keep ALL his money in and it was just not that much and was drained via ATM. I think this is much more likely than some elaborate money theft scheme in the middle of the night after a night at a casino. Think Occam's razor.

maybe he's voluntarily gone off with this man

his lifestyle doesn't sound suited to a relationship....how can you keep a girlfriend if you are out drinking at casinos with 'friends' when she's sat at home?alone

who are his friends or friend? sounds like a new relationship, possibly

The man is not with rich. And Rich regularly goes to pechanga alone via uber. Their relationship is strong and they don't feel the need to do every single thing together. After all they work & live together. There is no secret mistress (or mister). We are hoping he just needed a break from all that is going on with his brother. Hope this helps.

I would not make to much out of a second FB page. I have like 10 friends that all have more than one. For whatever reason people seem to do this. Perhaps they lose access somehow and create a 2nd one. Perhaps they just are not very savvy at all when it comes to computers and the internet. Either way it happens all the time for various reasons.

That page is fake. Rich has only one personal fb.

how would you know he's not got some sort of 'secret life' going on? you just wouldn't.

its a possibility. even from within the strongest of relationships.

Judging from what his friend has been here posting, I don't really see anything indicating it was a new relationship or that there was any sort of strain on the relationship. He actually was on the phone talking with his girlfriend while he was at the casino, so it probably doesn't bother her too much.

I hope for the best possible outcome for Mr. Tyrrell and his family. That being said in cases where a joint account holder emptied multiple accounts and absconded with a large sum of money, there's generally a lover, a drug problem, or some form of psychological break involved. You would be amazed to know how many well respected business/family men just snap only to be found weeks later in bars, resorts, brothels, etc.

I'm not sure I ever heard anyone say it was a "Large" sum of money. Only that his accounts were drained. That could mean he had $500 and now it's empty via ATM. We do not not know that this is not the case at this point. I give it ZERO POINT ZERO percent chance that this has anything to do with a lover, a drug problem, or psychological break. Nothing points to ANY of that so far. Occam's razor!

So most places you pay tax on any winnings over $1200.00, which still isn’t as Roadettet stated killing a man over. But some people get greedy when it comes to any amount of money

It is $5000 for poker and $1200 for slots etc I believe but that is for one given instance. So in reality there is no way to know how much he won so kind of pointless.

the best case scenario is the poor guy had a breakdown.. and I honestly can't blame him. He has a stressful, high stakes job and sounds like cancer has taken all his family. Praying that he can come home to the folks who love him :)

What I really want to see is the cell records for these 2 guys. Where did THEY go since Pachanga. Did their phones power down at convenient times etc? If they were dumb enough to take a person from Pachanga with Cameras and witnesses all around capturing their faces and likely their license plates then perhaps they are dumb enough to have left their cell phones on too.

I would have to believe he had a breakdown right after he told his long term live in GF that he was coming home and that the suspicious guys that "dropped" him off in compton was just a coincidence. Not to mention the fact that Compton might not be the spot that most white guys from 2 hours away decide to make a pilgrimage to on a breakdown whim in the middle of the night. How would emptying his own accounts benefit him? ATM and CC cards still work even during breakdowns. Don't buy this.

Yep. I have lived in Orange and San Diego Counties (Mostly Orange) my entire life. When I was a teen and in my twenties I did some really super dumb stuff (some I'll never admit to) but I never remember thinking...you know what guys? Let's go to Compton!!! I actually cannot remember ANYONE ever thinking that was a good idea. I can see people that are not familiar with the areas between Pachanga and Compton not totally understanding this but no one does this. Especially not a 47 year old with a job and a GF at home. No way!

Is Compton as bad as it was around the time of the LA Riots?
