Interesting article. The woman who said she was approached by the same person as presumably took Robin , sounds the best lead ? But as mentioned, why would she go with (what she thought) a off duty cop ,
but not the patrol police beforehand??

I think the article has some points to relate to the Zodiac: 1- The similarity with the Kathleen Johns incident; 2- "There is one compelling clue though, which may yet prove useful. Much like other victims of the Zodiac, she disappeared on the night of a full moon."
I can add also that in the Cheri Jo Bates case (not 100% a Zodiac victim) the killer tampered the victim car. Then he stabbed her in a dark alley.

Maybe we should check the Mona Jean Gallegos case. It´s similar and it may hold some clues.

Robin Graham disappearance: A chilling Hollywood mystery

"When the Highway Patrol officers drove past for the third time that night, about 2pm, they noticed Graham talking to a man, who they assumed to be the family member she mentioned calling. A light blue Corvette was parked nearby; the officers kept driving.

This was the last time Robin Graham was seen alive."
************
"After reading the Los Angeles Times coverage of Graham's disappearance, a woman came forward and claimed to have been stalled on the same freeway earlier that same night. A man driving a light blue Corvette had stopped and offered her a lift. She refused the offer, after which the man claimed to be an off-duty policeman. This was a breakthrough of sorts, as police reasoned this man's story may have been enough to trick Graham into going willingly with him, despite having already called her parents. This was a solid theory, but investigators were puzzled as to why she had left no note on her vehicle. She had also refused help from uniformed police minutes earlier. It appeared to be a dead end. But it was a compelling link.

The following month, this same woman was able to identify the man that stopped her as Bruce Davis, who had recently become known to police."

I think you're on to something. Under circumstances: "A major brush fire had gone thru this are during Sept. 1970, and there have been heavy rains and an earthquake since that time." Robin disappearing in Nov. 1970 fits right in with that time frame.

The fire doesn't seem relevant to me.

I only found one newspaper article on the skeletal-remains finding. It yielded no significant information that's not already in NamUs, unfortunately. From the May 24th, 1971 Los Angeles Times:

I wonder about this, too. Apparently this was her boyfriend's car. I haven't read any information re: why it stalled.

Yes, I wondered why it stalled too. There have been many abductions or attempts where a woman's vehicle malfunctioning is part of the reason why. This could legitimately be due to fluke (ie. an abductor just happens to be around when the car trouble starts) but then there's been some noted cases where the individual who shows up to help actually caused the car trouble.

Graham ran out of gas right? Siphoning? Her car was parked at work. I wonder if someone she worked with siphoned her gas and followed her. It would explain why she might trust him.

Interesting blog!
Posted it on this thread for one of the women who also went missing after experiencing car trouble...

Thanks for the link to your blog. Your research was quite thorough and I too found it interesting. I think you're an excellent writer. I forgot that I'd read somewhere that Robin ran out of gas.

The more I think about it the more I think they should look at her coworkers, if they didn't. She was driving home from work, her car ran out of gas, and she trusted the individual that showed up enough to go with him, presumably voluntarily? A coworker that matches the description of the male seen with her on the ramp would be a major person of interest, I think. He could have sabotaged her car knowing her scheduled off-time and her route home if he knew her a little bit.

It’s possible that as the night wore on, and she got more tired, frustrated, impatient, she was willing to do something she wasn’t willing to do earlier.

However, I think it’s more likely that she was threatened into the car with a gun or knife, or maybe knocked out in a blitz attack. We’ve seen in other cases that people can be attacked and kidnapped terribly fast.

The car was found locked , that seems like a relaxed and non hostile event happened? Although as mentioned why refuse a lift from police in a marked police car , but leave with a random guy in a corvette??

Strange that her car was a ex cop car too !

She could have just locked it to prevent theft. She refuses the police thinking her parents are coming. She accepts a ride from someone else because she knows who it is. Maybe she tells him "my parents are on the way" and he says "they told me to come in their place" and that's that. Smooth talker.

That's a good point, that she might have known the person who picked her up. I had always wondered why she would leave if she thought her parents were coming. If she knew this guy she would have thought she was safe, plus maybe she thought they'd get home before her parents headed out to pick her up.
