The link below has a copy of a flyer regarding the disappearance of our friends son, Sean Sidi, who went missing in San Francisco on May 21st. Sean, a great kid, suffered a severe brain trauma last November but was making a lot of progress. This makes the situation even more urgent because if he had bumped his head, he is at risk of confusion, unconsciousness or worse. They did a grid search in Golden Gate Park yesterday (lots of news coverage). Missing persons have been known to reappear a long way from where they were last seen (a recent case of a young man who was disoriented ended up three states away with no money in his pocket).

Flyer - http://seansidi.com/pdf/MissingChild.pdf

There are uncorroborated reports that Sean was seen getting into a car and yesterday his father was coordinating searches in Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties because of reports he many have been seen there.

If you could print out a couple of posters and put them up at post offices, grocery stores, community bulletin boards and other areas with high volume traffic, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if you could encourage your friends to post the info on Facebook with the headline "Please repost no matter where you live" it would be greatly appreciated.

Please forward this info where you think appropriate. The Klaas Foundation has also been helpful to the family.

More information can be found on www.seansidi.com
His Facebook profile (a good thing to repost) is https://www.facebook.com/findseansidi

Yeesh, the "encourage your friends to post the info" was mean to post on Facebook. I'm getting old :)

Thanks for the updates.

Have police or anyone close to the case established any theories yet?

Do they suspect foul play? Or do they think Sean injured himself? Or did he willfully leave?

Here is the latest from Sean's official missing person website (seansidi.com)

Dear Friends and Community of San Francisco,

It has now been over two weeks since Sean vanished without a trace from San Francisco. As many of you know, he suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) several months ago and considered to be very medically fragile. Because of his injury, he may not know how to ask for help. As a result, we still desperately need the public's help in finding Sean.

Last week, volunteers in conjunction with The KlassKids Foundation conducted a grid search of Golden Gate Park. Unfortunately although we covered a lot of ground, the search does not appear to have provided any clues as to Sean's whereabouts. Also, last weekend, a team of volunteers traveled to Mendocino and Humboldt County along Hwy 1 and 101 posting flyers and visiting police stations.

Our Next Step

Our next step is to continue creating a wide spread awareness of Sean's disappearance, not only focusing in San Francisco, by now extending into the Bay Area. This weekend, both Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th, we have a group of volunteers scheduled to go to Marin County to post flyers and talk to the police. In addition, we have hired a private investigator specializing in locating missing people to assist us in the search for Sean.

While San Francisco remains the focal search area, it is always possible that Sean may have traveled outside of the city. If you live or work in cities outside of San Francisco, you can help by posting Sean's Missing Person flyer in your neighborhood.

How You Can Help

We need help in distributing and posting Sean's Missing Person Flyers in the soup kitchens and homeless shelters of San Francisco. If Sean is disoriented and wondering the streets of San Francisco, he may have been directed to one of theses locations for food and shelter.

Also, please continue posting and re-posting flyers everywhere in San Francisco. The city streets cleaners do remove the flyers, however if we follow these guidelines the flyers will remain posted for a longer period of time.

Please be sure to:

1) Write the current date on the bottom right hand corner of the flyer. If the flyer is posted in the appropriate places (see#2) the city workers should allow the flyer to remain posted for 70 days from the date on the flyer.

2) The best place to post flyers is on store front windows (with the owner's permission) and utility poles. Please do not post flyers on bus stops, historic street lights, traffic signal poles or traffic directional sign poles as the city will remove them.

Another way to spread the word beyond San Francisco is by sharing and re-posting Find Sean Sidi Facebook link with your friends and family. Everyone, including those without a Facebook account, can access the page.

Again, thank you so much for your help and support,

~The Sidi Family

I wish they'd offer us some theories as to what they think/what might have happened, so we know what to look for. Should we expect Sean to be alone? Should we expect him to be in captive at someone else's restraint? Are we looking for a body? (Sorry I know this is morbid, but just covering all the bases.) It would help if they'd give us some groundwork and I think it would help the public more effectively search/keep their eyes peeled for Sean.

I haven't seen any updates on the body found near the Hyde Street pier. It could also potentially be Beau Rasmussen, who disappeared at Ocean Beach during Bay to Breakers. I'm don't know enough about the ocean or the tides to speculate if a body can move from the ocean to the Bay. Sorry to be a bit morbid here.

Whoever the man they found is, I hope his family will get closure and can lay him to rest. It's extremely sad anyway.

A man's body was found at Hyde Street Pier in San Francisco on Monday. This announcement has surely brought a jolt to the hearts of many families, as there are numerous men missing from the area. Could this be one of their sons?

According to the Find Sean FB page, it is NOT Sean.

Bumping for Sean.

I am so thankful the man found by the ferry was not Sean! He is out there somewhere and hopefully will be home safely very soon!
I am sad for the family that will get news that their loved one was found by the ferry. *hugs*

There will be another search of Golden Gate Park Saturday, June 15, 2013 - this time focusing on the West end of the park. Meeting in the Ocean Beach parking lot near the windmill at 9:30am.

There have also been tips for the Tenderloin and Marin County. Larkin St in the Tenderloin came up more than once. Remember that Sean has braces. That's right, we all pray for the family of the loved one found in the Bay along with all the other missing loved ones.

As noted before, they are doing a grid search today of the Western side of Golden Gate Park (starting at 9:30am). This is at the recommendation of the top private investigator the family has hired. Flyers are going up all over the city, which is great. There have been a few tips about sitings in the Tenderloin and Marin County. Spoke with five different street people in the Tenderloin who thought they'd seen him on the Western edge of the neighborhood. Then again, they could just have read the poster earlier, but they seemed sincere. If you could help by putting up posters in Marin or the Tenderloin, it would be most helpful. They usually disappear from light posts, other outdoor postings - but liquor stores have been pretty accommodating about putting them in store windows. Also, keep your eyes on health clinics. Thank you all, know you are cheering for finding him safe.

Hi everyone. The latest search of the Western end of Golden Gate Park didn't produce any clues. There is a new upcoming event:

Date: Sunday, June 23rd

Place: Golden Gate Park at the intersection of Stanyan and Haight Street

Time: 2 PM

The Sidi family will be holding a 'Search for Sean Awareness Vigil' Sunday, June 23rd at Golden Gate Park. The purpose of the Awareness Vigil is to raise public awareness of the search for Sean and to remind the public that he is medically fragile. The family will speak of the developments in the search, including requests made to law enforcement.

Please help spread the word. We hope to see you there. Thank you for your continued support.

They keep updating the website, www.seansidi.com, and there is even an anonymous tip form.
