Does anyone else remember the big scandal about the Houston (Texas) forensic laboratory a few years back? The facility was visibly filthy and their techniques were terrible. At the time, a prosecutor said something to the effect of "if you told one of those techs to separate a sample of mixed DNA or you'd shoot them, why, bless their hearts, you'd just have to go ahead and shoot them because they couldn't perform an accurate separation to save their own lives."

I'm not saying that's the case in Santa Clara County California but that's what defence lawyers are for: shining a big bright hot spotlight on the evidence and the means by which the evidence is derived to make sure it is done accurately.
I can assure you it's not. I went on a tour last year of Santa Clara County's Crime Lab. They are housed in a brand-new state-of-the-art building and the criminalist I spoke with- asked him about Casey Anthony's evidence, was very knowledgeable!

It is hard to not find some form of civilization of some sort in our area. Even at the top of the mountains. The only spots without civilization are the parks.

Thank You I appriciate you telling us this because I did not pay that much attention to it.. He is only 21 if he was 50 I would have had more focus on it.
But he was charged after he was in a fight with somebody who lived in his old home on Llagas ave. The charges included sex with a minor..

So who was the minor then ?

Oh, I believe FS was the minor in that incident. And you make a good point about AGT not being much older than she is being an important factor...there's about a 2-year age difference, if that. IIRC they have been "together" since she was 15 (maybe even 14?). But he was not more than 17 when she was 15, and that is much easier to understand and accept than if she had been a young teen and him 10 or 20 years older. Maybe the stat rape charge came about because when he was arrested for the fight he was of age, but she was still a minor?

Nonetheless, I do believe if he is in fact a predator he could have preyed on her even though there was not the typical age difference seen in such situations. We just do not know if she was coerced or controlled by him or not. Or that she would not have been subjected to his coercion or control if she had not been willing. OK....I know what I am trying to say but I bet I have not said it very clearly.

ETA: Catching up on the thread; thanks LisaB for saying so clearly what I was trying to say.

There was 2 recent murders in our area.
Both by sons who were deranged.. Both moms were found. One of them was Martha from Gilroy who was murdered just before Sierra went missing. I was looking for her when the news of Sierra first came out. "I have searched for many people over the years"
Martha was found near Casa De Fruta just off the side of the road as her son stopped and pushed her dead body out of a car. A couple of local farm workers found her.
The other mom who was murdered and found a year earlier was found off the side of the road on hiway 129 near the Pajaro river and was found by the property owner. He "her son" had stopped his car and threw her over the guard rail onto private property. She was in heavy brush and was found some time later. A Very busy and well traveled hiway.

Anyways ... These were typical .. and why I started searching that far out.
The logic of this is "you do not crap in your own back yard."

One was from gilroy and he went out 12 - 15 miles.
the other was from Salinas and hiway 129 was 12-15 miles from Salinas.

Now our suspect ... How far out did he go with his limitations. ?
That is the big question.

A.G.-T. may not be book smart but being an outdoor person all of his life, he would have a great advantage when it comes to concealing his victim. Possibly he was so canny that he hid her within convenient range of the abduction in a spot that has eluded the searchers. I've wondered about the expense of driving a distance considering the high price of gas in California but if this is his first murder, he may have been willing to find money any which place in order to make certain she was not found.

there is one in texas - cameron todd willingham - the link i've posted is to HIS website; i did that for simplicities sake - but if you google 'cameron todd willingham' there are a ton of news articles devoted to his case - he was truly innocent.

http://camerontoddwillingham.com/

there are way too many others - you can find a lot of info at the 'innocence projects' website.

it's tragic - but it does happen; another reason why many states are seeking to do away w/the death penalty. personally, i agree w/the death penalty in SOME cases, but not unless there is firm, factual proof of guilt.

He was "truly innocent" in your opinion. His case was used as a political cause against George Bush and now, Rick Perry. Political operatives found a liberal, activist judge to carry their water. The judge who exonerated CTW had no authority to do so.....3rd Circuit court of appeals. The chosen judge never filed his motion. But, whatever. Maybe this can be discussed elsewhere? I don't see how it applies to this case at all. The accused in this case hasn't been tried or convicted, yet. Maybe he will go to trial.....maybe not. Being arrested and charged don't equal being convicted and sentenced to death.

IIRC, he claimed to have told his mother he went fishing on the 16th - was that before or after he left home in San Martin that morning? Anyone know?

Gas $$$ doesn't seem to be a problem for him - what the heck was he doing at 7:15 in Sierra's neighborhood? Just prowling around? I have yet to reconcile that bit with him "not knowing of her". It's just too far out of his way, 7 miles from home & not on his way to "fishing".

Anyway, I found this site that shows the LLagas Creek that flows into Chesboro Reservoir. If you enlarge the 2nd and 3rd pictures, you get an idea of how large the area is to search.

Did he actually show up somewhere and go fishing? The body won't be there, IMO. But somewhere near a river or maybe it's already gone into the ocean. The 4th picture tells us that the LLagas Creek flows into the ocean. "We have completed our clockwise circuit of the reservoir and have reached the southern end where the Llagas creek exits the reservoir and continues its journey toward the Pacific Ocean. (Looking south-east)."

Oh,,, I know which Martha you are talking about- the marine who snapped and shot his little sister too...

I really wish FaceBook would volunteer the information to LE where this person whi is SICK is from with the IP . They have been doing this from almost Day 1 IMHO. They should be charges filed against him. I know this person has made accusations about people under other faceboook acounts in the past which were totally False,:banghead:

And it's the same person again. FB needs to stop this insanity.

I'm not the one claiming that innocent people have been executed.

And, are you claiming that there are people who have been executed who were later proved innocent? If so, link please.
Do you think that everyone who has been executed was guilty?

thats how I saw it, sorry if you meant something else.

Thank you for that research. This creek runs from behind the house he grew up on Llagas road all the way to the Chesboro reservoir LE is searching yesterday and today.

LE should be in that creek behind his old home if they have not already as I am assuming he knows it well. Probably walked it when he was younger.

Link, please!

Lots to choose from. Here's one:

http://listverse.com/2010/01/12/10-convicts-presumed-innocent-after-execution/

BTW, I'd suggest that requiring a higher standard for innocence than guilt -- proven innocent, rather than a preponderance of evidence that satisfies reasonable doubt -- is unfair. Further to claim that no innocent person has ever been executed in the history of the US (or anywhere else) demands a faith in the infallibility of human judgement borne out nowhere else in human affairs.

He told his mom he was going fishing that morning. Liars often tell little facts so that if questions come up later he can justify himself.
That is why LE is focused on water.

I believe this was premeditated. He planned the attack.

Yes Cazador, I believe you are spot on. I also believe that LE has some *very* specific information about her being in the water. Perhaps he gave a partial confession of sorts (perhaps unwittingly by something he said, or didn't say). There is no way they would be spending all this time and resource searching those waterways unless they had specific cause and information.

Sierra will be found.

They can locate them within 30 seconds. It's not a lack of technology, just resources. BRAVO to the DA. The Santa Clara County DA's Office is BAD *advertiser censored*S.

And when they do I want to talk to them . All though I have heard with smartphones it is harder now to track. And FACEbook requires a supeona before they will release anything.
