NikB- Glad you're a local too! I tell people I live in the Roseville Ghetto! I don't feel "rich" enough here either! I've lived here since it was crappy!
It's not the freeways that bother me here, it is the railroad. Tommy Lynn Sells came through here before he was caught and we've had more than our share of serials in the Sacramento area because of the railroad. Well, in my opinion...
I'm sorry I know this situation that brought us all here isn't funny but I had to laugh a little at your description - I don't think of any of Roseville as particularly "Ghetto" but I know what you mean! I know every city has its cultural and economic differences but I haven't seen anywhere quite as dramatic within relatively short distances before.
I hadn't thought too much about the railroad, although it's a good point. For those wondering it'd be roughly a 10 minute drive from the Raley's shopping center to the railyards (give or take, particularly depending on where along the railway). I can't really see someone kidnapping Susan and taking her there (JMO), but it's certainly a place one could hide or use to get away after committing a crime.
Coincidentally my husband and I met up with a couple of friends in Roseville last night. Can't believe I didn't think to ask these two sooner - we don't see them all that often and I forgot they'd moved to the area a couple of months ago. Anyway the guy works as a mechanic for the railroad, and they live not far from the Sun City area - probably about halfway between the railyard and Sun City. He works mostly nights (11pm to 8am). I was sad to find out neither of them had heard much about Susan other than what I've shared on Facebook.
After I asked about it they seemed to vaguely remember seeing a news story about Susan "awhile ago" but otherwise weren't very familiar with her story and didn't realize she's still missing. With the guy in particular he may have just not really noticed the flyers/signs although I think he probably would have - he wasn't too sure though. I was thinking it might be worth checking to see if there could be more signs at/near the railyard. I imagine many of the people who work there probably live pretty locally too, so it could be good exposure on multiple fronts. I also asked him to check for any posters or flyers next time he goes in to work. The wife of the couple is a student and they're out on break right now, so not much she could do in terms of checking at the school, but she said she'll keep Susan in mind and keep an eye out.
I so hope for some kind of good news, good leads, SOMETHING, soon.
