Sorry, I have not followed this case as closely as some of you... did we ever get clarification on when the last time someone other than Susan's husband saw her or even spoke to her on the phone? If not, that's another thing I would like to see addressed.

I think this one is very important!

Actually sounds like a really good thesis subject for a criminal justice doctorate...or a really savvy investigative reporter....which are getting harder to come by

I agree...:thumb:

I also think... If presented correctly... The article could pull on the heart strings of more members of the community...

For example... This poor woman has gone missing for X amount of time... And the coverage has been minimal...

Whereas... We have seen public outcry in cases ABC...

We need the help of the community in finding this woman/mother/wife/etc. as we need to find ALL missing persons....,etc....etc....etc....

All JMO....

When looking at newspaper articles from May to July 2013, I see that Scott has authored several, and it sounds like he interviewed the son and husband, as well as LE. That puts him in an excellent position to follow up on the case. Remember the local set of twins who made it their mission to never give up finding Susan back in June 2013? I wonder if they were able to come across any pertinent information during their searches.

I have said it before and I will say it again: This is the most disturbing case I have ever come across. A middle-aged woman who did nothing to put herself at risk vanishes and no one close to her seems to care. I am so glad we are giving Susan a voice and that we are not letting her be swept aside. She has to be somewhere and at least one person knows exactly what happened.

looking at old articles, forgive me, I do not think I have read every single post on Susan's threads. BBM

Investigators still want to hear from anyone who was in the Raley's shopping center parking lot, at the corner of Woodcreek Oaks and Pleasant Grove boulevards, between 4 a.m. and noon on May 1.

Sunrise on that day was 6:08 am. I remember reading she was known to start her day early. Do we know what time she left for the store? Her wallet was turned in approx. 8 am by a jogger, correct?

Her husband said he spoke with her before he left for work (6 or 7?). So the 4am has always stayed in my head. Made me think the police wondered if this was not true.

I thought that the husband went to the gym to workout for his usual 6am time? I followed this case closely at the beginning. It was difficult because we never did get any answers to important questions like who last saw or spoke to her other than the husband?

The son was protective of the father. But really I got some weird vibes when I watched the husbands interviews at that time. Since we are a victim friendly forum I stopped there as I went down that path of the husband. I don't remember if they even searched the house or property.

Personally I felt the car at Raley's and wallet right on the sidewalk were staged.

I'm glad to see a little more discussion on this case - so frustrating that there is so little attention on Susan. I composed and sent a lengthy email to the City of Roseville Chief of Police early last week...not a word back - not even from some PR staff in the Police Department to tell me they are working on it... The accountability of our local officials whose paychecks are signed by the citizens of the community, seems so elusive, especially when it comes to Susan's case...

BBM.

I was thinking about Susan early this morning. And I have to agree with you about regarding the car and wallet. We all know the reality and percentages regarding the bolded question.

No response?!? :gaah:

Not a word....seven days and counting. I didn't ask for specifics - just asking for some confirmation that this is still on their radar screen. Should residents of the community - like me - be concerned that someone disappeared from our neighborhood grocery store parking lot (well, at least that's where her car was found...) in the broad daylight of the morning, and hasn't been found yet?? I think we deserve those kinds of answers - the questions may be direct and difficult, but these are public servants who are working for us and should remain accountable to the public, not evading public scrutiny.

i haven't read or heard anything new ...yet

WHY the silence? It is really beyond ridiculous...I will stop there...

I don't understand the silence from LE. Even a brief statement providing basically no details but stating what the general status of the case is would be something. Show the concerned citizens of the community and SUSAN some respect by at least acknowledging that a PERSON, a member of the community, has been missing for 18 months now without a trace.

I just don't understand. Does Susan's family have any connections with members of LE? It is standard to at least reply with some kind of comment that the case is still open, there isn't believed to be any threat to the public, and anyone with information should contact *advertiser censored*-*advertiser censored*-xxxx. Something as basic as that at a minimum.

if something doesn't pop up on MSM in the next few days, I'll do some follow up on why not....
this poor lady...I stand amazed at how some of the missing seem forgotten, imho.

I mentioned Susan to my husband again the other day. He works in Roseville, not far from this shopping center, so I drive out there pretty regularly. My husband mentioned that it's supposed to rain again today, and this week (hopefully, we need it!) and out of nowhere said "I'm surprised I don't see bones in the river when it gets high." He was referring to the large creek that runs behind his shop (not technically a river, although it looks like one sometimes). He's found dead animals out there before. While I agree with him it completely freaked me out that he was even thinking that. It gave me an awful feeling about Susan but at the same time, I want her found. I still have some minimal hope that she's okay somewhere and just not wanting to be found.

Sorry...kinda rambling... wish we'd hear something about Susan.

Hello! I just spent a couple of hours reading here about Susan for the first time, thanks to following nikb over here from another thread. I wasn't aware of Susan before because my main focus for over a year has been Stephanie Warner, missing from Southern Oregon and presumed killed by her boyfriend. I just want to let you all know how much I admire your efforts to keep Susan's case in the public eye, despite silence from her loved ones. Keep up the good work!
:yourock:

I hope hearing about our experience with being Stephanie's "voice" will encourage you. In Stephanie's case, her family is far away and rather camera shy. Local friends were afraid of her boyfriend. Also, the detective apparently discouraged them from being vocal. The local public quickly lost interest in her disappearance. From personal experience, I can assure you that WSers can cultivate relationships with the media and become a voice for the missing person.

For example, some of Stephanie's friends helped one WSer put together a beautiful video about Stephanie, which was posted on YouTube and distributed to all the local media three months after her disappearance. Soon after, her sister spoke out for the first time on TV. Interestingly, the video and posts on WS provoked the POI into producing three "rebuttal" videos! But the media didn't give them any airtime. :D One of us keeps in regular contact with an interested reporter who did a three-day series on the one year anniversary, including a piece about WS. In addition, we haven't been shy about emailing the detective if we run across info we think he should have. Stephanie is still missing, there is nothing new and we are frustrated, but we are making sure she is not forgotten, as you are with Susan.

Although you have less info about Susan than we have about Stephanie, I wish you well in your efforts, and I hope both Susan and Stephanie (and all who are missing) are found soon and that whoever "disappeared" them will be brought to justice.

Thanks Lililbet! I like to think we're helping even when it seems impossible. I can drive to where Susan lives in 5 minutes... it blows me away that I can't do more to help find her.

Thanks for the info about Stephanie's case. I'll be reading up on her shortly.

I followed Stephanie's case for the first few months and I'm ashamed to say that after awhile, when there was nothing to go on, I moved away from it to other cases.

Susan just has not have any movement on her case at all. Nothing. No news media, no vigils at the one year mark, no pleas for information, no searches, no help at all, from anyone. We just won't forget. There is a sadness about Susan's case because so little was done, so little was known, and no one appeared to be looking for her. It was like she disappeared one day and it was like "oh well", and then life went on without her and without a look backwards.

It's like we are the ones giving Susan a voice. We are the ones keeping Susan's existence alive. LE hasn't bothered to do anything to bring her home or to solve what happened to her or how her car got into Raley's parking lot that day. It's like everyone just forgot Susan. We didn't.
