"If the public does see Mr. Ayala, please call 9-1-1. Please do not engage with him. Contact us, and we will be there as quickly as possible," Davis said.

Susan Armstrong, who has lived in the area for more than five decades, saw Ayala walk by her house Friday morning with the clothes police mentioned he was last seen wearing. She told CTV News Toronto that she felt "sick."

"Because now it concerns me if he has not been found that he's in some of these garden sheds, and he'll still show up. So we'll keep our doors locked. That's for sure," Armstrong said.

Another neighbour, Zelia Vouloukos, also saw Ayala Friday.

"I got like the creeps because I'm sitting on my porch, and he's just walking up and down the street, and he's talking to himself, and then he disappears," Vouloukos told CTV News Toronto.

Davis said it was too early in the investigation to determine the motive.''

Police have not identified the women, aged 82 and 60, but neighbours told CTV News Toronto that Ayala lived with his grandmother Colleen and mother Sherry.
So it sounds like he killed his mother and grandmother. :(
Rest in peace Colleen and Sherry.

And they still haven't located Joseph yet.

According the the video at the link below, he has mental health issues and wouldn't always take his medication.

Wow. This is so, so sad. That poor mother....scared of her son and rightfully so.

Over the years, the neighbour said the mother confided in her that she and Ayala would fight, and she could tell that the younger woman was scared just by the way she would talk about the arguments.
She also recalled, maybe a year ago, seeing the suspect being arrested in the middle of the night after her dog had woken her up barking. She said she saw Ayala in handcuffs and going into a police cruiser, as well as an officer who appeared to be holding what looked like a sword that had been confiscated from the home, she said.

Police still searching for man wanted in Etobicoke killings as neighbours mourn loss of two women

Over the years, the neighbour [who asked not to be named over concerns for her safety] said the mother confided in her that she and Ayala would fight, and she could tell that the younger woman was scared just by the way she would talk about the arguments.

She said she saw Ayala in handcuffs and going into a police cruiser, as well as an officer who appeared to be holding what looked like a sword that had been confiscated from the home, she said.

Another neighbour, Florence Duro, also said he would see the younger woman and Ayala having loud arguments. He said he last saw the older woman on Thursday afternoon when he helped her carry her groceries home.

A resident who lives around the corner, Mike Cabral, said […] he saw Ayala earlier this month, walking down the street with cowboy boots on, “screaming,” although he couldn’t make out what he was saying.

Lynda Robinson […] described the suspect as “strange” but “not bad” a person who would simply walk past when Robinson would greet him.

ETA: Sorry @Snoopster, I was writing my post when you posted yours.

If he's still wearing his fringe jacket and cowboy hat he will stand out. It was pretty warm today. No one else would have been dressed like that in the heat. Unfortunately no photos of him with a shaved head have been released (or simply don't exist).
I'm sure extended family are nervous, and rightly so. (I believe extended family called LE for a welfare check and that is how the victims were found.)

'Earlier on Thursday, Peel police said the suspect, 33-year-old Joseph Ayala, of Toronto, may be in the area of Dixie Road and Lakeshore Road in southeast Mississauga, Ont.

But Toronto police said they attended the location and the person was not the suspect.

"At this time we do not know his whereabouts," police said in an email on Thursday.'
