What kind of chemicals would you use at a farm? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I know nothing about farming.

Propane and purple gas. It's possible that the extra vehicles are gasfitters, and they're there to open up the tanks.

I was at an appointment this morning just before lunch and while in the waiting room I watched CBC news had the report of the ambulance and fire vehicles at the scene. I was sure there was going to be a resolution for the family when I saw that but sadly that doesn't seem to be the case presently. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for LE investigators and LE searching the area. I could not even imagine the families emotions.

Thanks for the answers about chemicals. I wasn't sure. I know some pesticides are banned but wasn't sure if that pertained to farmers as well.

I have missed a lot of the PC's given. Have the police indicated if the green truck found on the search property is indeed the same one as caught on surveillance?

I would just like to say this must be extremely hard on all of the family & friends involved. I have been on edge for days and have no connection to these people but this is scary and just to close to home for me. We have been thinking of moving away for about 6 months because the crime is getting to be ridiculous.
I have wanted to go down to the search area as it is very close to me but I feel sick to my stomach and I am a crier sooo.....

I have to agree with you. As I live in Calgary, it seems that I can't stop looking for updates constantly. I just hope that they are found alive, but as the days go by..... And I'am a crier too.

Police say other investigative leads are being pursued beyond person of interest Douglas Garland

In Alberta autopsies for deaths that do not occur in the hospital are performed at the Medical Examiner's Office not the hospital. I know this because both my husband and mother-in-law died suddenly last year. The police and ambulance come first then when the Death Investigator arrives from the ME office the ambulance leaves. The body is transported by the ME office.

Our ME office is in one of our hospitals. We don't have a separate one. ME's here don't always attend scenes. Sometimes they release bodies by telephone. Transport depends on the location and what resources are available.

It would seems so Daisy. So many dabbling's into business ventures between some key people in this case. Based on the financials on that link and if it is DG's company, they made a fair profit.

It's possible that the company did make a lot of money, but at the same time, when oil/gas exploration tax loopholes were tightened in roughly 2011, the company didn't feel like paying taxes. The $800,000 company debt is owed to Canadians. Based on comments made by the former COO of Alvin Liknes' company, it sounds like the company didn't feel like paying contractors either. In fact, it looks like the company pushed the boundaries as far as they could go in terms of paying themselves and leaving everyone else high and dry.

In addition to the company that recently declared bankruptcy, there are several other companies connected to Alvin Liknes that were created and delisted in the last six years. I would not be at all surprised to learn that money was transferred to those other companies before they were delisted in order to hide assets ... but that remains to be seen. Everything points in that direction at this time.

From what little we know so far about the companies where Alvin was President, something about it strikes me as shell companies that obtain money from investors and then the money simply disappears. Alvin, his wife, and his son in law have all declared bankruptcy. It almost looks like a strategy that the family uses too easily.
