I'm guessing another aboriginal woman has vanished - probably safe to assume murder.

It's a fact that results from the missing and murdered women government funded investigations indicate that the victim knows the murderer at the time of murder. This means that the murderer is also from the aboriginal community - supported with stats.

Spousal homicides in aboriginal asian ancestry escalate when alcohol is included.

...However, last Friday police issued a warning related to Salmon River Road after a woman was allegedly threatened with a firearm earlier this year.

Police said a man and woman used a “website utilized by escorts and sex workers” to arrange a meeting in the area of Salmon River Road.

“The victim reported to police, that upon arriving at the agreed upon location in her own vehicle, the male suspect produced a firearm and threatened her. The victim was able to flee the scene unharmed,” said Moskaluk.

Update: human remains were located on the farm. RCMP had been in touch with the families of Caitlin Potts and two other missing women from the area (Deanna Wertz and Ashley Simpson) to tell them that the search wasn't about their cases. There are more missing women from the general area. It will be interesting to see the developments.

Police note there is one man in custody, Curtis Wayne Sagmoen, but no specific criminal charges have been laid against Sagmoen in relation to the search of the property at this time.

According to court documents, Curtis Wayne Sagmoen is currently in custody and charged with the following: disguising face with the intent to commit offence, intentionally discharging a firearm while reckless, uttering threats, careless use or storage of a firearm, possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of controlled substance.

Neighbours of the property indicate Curtis was known to leave for work in either Northern Alberta or B.C. for periods of time and then return to the home and help with farm work.

Both the father and son share the same name, with the father commonly known as Wayne and the son going by Curtis.
On Oct. 13, Vernon RCMP reported they were investigating an Okanagan man in relation to an alleged incident involving threats made to a woman. Police said they initially responded to the incident on Aug. 28
That man was later released however, and no charges were laid. But police released a description of the man and encouraged the public, “and especially escorts and sex workers that they take any measures that they deem necessary to safeguard their personal safety

Caitlin Potts, 27, was last in contact with her family on Feb. 22, 2016. She had been in a Kelowna mall the day before, and police believed she vanished from the South Okanagan as she had connections to the communities of Salmon Arm, Enderby and Armstrong.

“Myself and the rest of Caitlin’s family have not heard from her since February and we are very worried … Her lack of online communication with friends and loved ones is out of character for my daughter,” her mother Priscilla Potts said in a statement after her disappearance.

“I miss my daughter, not hearing from her has caused me a lot of worry and grief as any parent can understand.”

Enderby resident Jody Leon organized a rally Sunday that marched past the farm being searched by police, to raise awareness about all the missing women.

“Let’s be there to call on continuing support against violence against women,” Leon said in a Facebook post Friday.

“One of the wheels was hanging in the air,” said cattle rancher Steve Langenegger of the Aug. 28 morning discovery. “We noticed there was a pink slipper lying in the road 20 feet from the car and another slipper lying closer to the car.” In the sandy soil leading away from the stranded car, the two men found bare footprints.
“They were far apart so she must have been running for her life,” said Langenegger. “It looks like a trap when you go down that road.”
*Ted Ednes is the one who found the car*

He said sex trade workers had been mistakenly visiting his tenant on the end of that same road last summer, rousting him late at night, seeking payment.
“Those ladies were always coming out to my address; that’s what I was curious about,” said Ted Edes, 80,who’s lived in the timbered, hilly area all his life.

Curtis Wayne Sagmoen, 36, is accused of threatening a woman with a shotgun on Aug. 28. He's charged with multiple firearms offences and disguising his face with a mask in relation to the incident.
Police believe the alleged victim was a sex worker who had arranged a meeting with a man near Salmon River Road, using a website popular among escorts.
