thats an absolutely rediculous comment,

so if all those 22 people survived the accidents, the intersection would be considered to be safe? and nobody would be complaining?

you need to judge safety on the accidents....not the outcome of them

What?? Only 2 planes hit the wtc in over 20 years. Using your reasoning, The outcome doesn’t matter according to you, only the frequency of event. It’s only twice in 20 years, no need to improve airport security, right?

Why argue against taking steps to make a road or intersection safer?

you can not compare a 2 vehicle accident to an intentional, planned event of mass destruction,

one is an accident, the other is planned, and intentional, completely different........good try though

Why argue against taking steps to make a road or intersection safer?

because it's already safe as it is......history has proven that......

i will use very conservative numbers here, actual numbers are probably much higher,

lets say an average of 30 vehicles pass through this intersection per hour, so one vehicle every two minutes that would be 720 vehicles in a 24 hour period or per day,

720 x 365 days = 262,800 vehicles per year

262,800 x 20 years = 5,256,000

so that means 5,256,000 vehicles pass through the intersection in 20 years (again, conservative numbers)

there have been two accidents there in the past 20 years so we now divide that number by 2 = 2,628,000

so that means there is one accident for every 2,628,000 vehicles that pass through the intersection

the odds of being struck by a bolt of lightning are 1 in 960,000

so that means you are OVER 2.5 TIMES MORE LIKELY to be struck by lightning then you are to be in an accident while driving a vehicle through this intersection,

that seems pretty damn safe to me!!

Ryan has just arrived home in Alberta, Canada and hopes to go back to his house when the adaptions are completed. I’m so glad he is doing ok.

“Speaking to media after getting off the plane, Straschnitzki said he was most looking forward to seeing friends and family now that he’s home.

“I feel a lot better,” he said. “[I feel] stronger and I’m going to continue physiotherapy in Calgary, so I’m good.”

He said the therapy in Philadephia was a “whole other game,” adding that experiencing the city was a fun experience.”
