''A U.S. judge has entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of the woman suspected of sending ricin-laced envelopes from Canada to the White House and to several officials in Texas.

Pascale Ferrier, 53, made a brief appearance in a Buffalo, N.Y., courtroom this afternoon after she was arrested over the weekend at the Peace Bridge border crossing between Fort Erie, Ont., and New York State. She faces a charge of threatening the president.

U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. said since it is a criminal complaint there was no need for her to enter a plea during her brief court appearance today, but he entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf.

The matter was put over until Monday for an identity and probable cause hearing.''

The sheriff's office said Ferrier was booked into the Hidalgo County Jail by the Mission Police Department.

"The author clearly stated a desire to harm Sheriff Guerra and three female detention officers as they too were sent letters. The letters were intercepted at the Hidalgo County Detention Center, without incident," says the statement sent today.

"The FBI was able to confirm the substance found in all four letters received was ricin, a potentially deadly poison."

'#KillTrump': Court papers show woman suspected of sending Trump ricin had history of violent rhetoric

An FBI affidavit filed in the case included a letter addressed to Trump, urging him to "give up and remove your application for this election." She also referred to him as "The Ugly Tyrant Clown."

“So I made a ‘special gift’ for you to make a decision. This gift is in this letter,” Ferrier wrote, according to the affidavit. “If it doesn’t work, I’ll find better recipe for another poison, or I might use my gun when I’ll be able to come.”

At the end of the article it says
During her arrest on Sunday, the complaint states Ferrier told Customs and Border Protection agents that she was "wanted by the FBI for the ricin letters." Law enforcement officers found a loaded gun in her waistband and said she was also carrying a knife."

So according to this article she admitted knowing about the letters during her arrest at the border.

U.S. judge orders Canadian woman accused of threatening Trump to remain in custody
''A Quebec woman accused of sending a ricin-laced threat to President Donald Trump has been ordered to remain in U.S. custody.

District Court Judge Kenneth Schroeder Jr. says Pascale Ferrier was clearly capable of causing harm when she tried to cross the Canada-U. S. border last week.''

''Timothy Lynch of the U.S. Attorney's Office in Buffalo says Ferrier had a semi-automatic handgun and 294 rounds of ammunition at the time.

Lynch also says experts in Canada found traces of ricin in a mortar and pestle recovered from her apartment in Montreal.''

How the heck does someone grind that up with standard kitchen tools when just a particle inhaled can kill you? Was she in hazmat?! Sheesh.

If it was ground to a fine consistency, it might not stay in the envelope unless it was in a another envelope or sealed plastic. That is why it could wreak havoc in the US and Canadian postal systems, affecting people who weren’t targeted...

Canadian woman accused of mailing ricin letter to Trump pleads not guilty to new charges
''Pascale Ferrier, who was previously charged with threatening to kill and injure the U.S. president, now also faces charges of sending threats through the mail and violating biological weapons prohibitions.

All three charges stem from a letter containing the poison ricin that U.S. federal prosecutors allege Ferrier sent to then-president Trump at the White House, with a note that if the poison didn’t work, the writer would use their gun.''

Defence argues against evaluation for woman accused of sending poison to Trump | Toronto Sun
Jan 04, 2022
''Ferrier was arrested on Sept. 20, 2020 when she showed up at a border crossing in Buffalo, N.Y. and told U.S. border agents she was the person behind a threatening letter that contained the poison ricin and was addressed to Trump at the White House. The letter was intercepted on Sept. 18, 2020 when it arrived at the White House mail sorting facility, and the Secret Service turned it over to the FBI''

''She faces several charges in two U.S. district courts related to the letters. In November, the prosecution in the case in Washington, D.C. requested that Ferrier undergo a 30-day psychiatric evaluation to determine if she is fit to stand trial. The prosecution described her behaviour while detained as “disruptive” and alleged she threatened''

She's expected to be sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison under the terms of a plea deal with prosecutors.
