What a pretty young lady. Sure hope they find her. There didn't seem to be any details in the article about how she went missing. I feel for her mama. :(

The date and place of birth of Hilary are correct, as I'm FB friends with friends and family of hers.

Also, I dont' know where the article is, but the RCMP is setting up a task force and not have canines and infra-red helicopter.

The natives have been doing searches themselves, but finally the RCMP is giving more help.

Upon reviewing the OPP.CA missing person site this morning for Mariam Makhniashvili's missing person case (Ontario), I found what I thought was Hilary's case. It turns out, it is a different girl from Quebec, but the resemblance to Hilary is very strong, IMO.

Maisy Odjick - Maisy Odjick and Shannon Alexander have not been seen since 06 September 2008. She is 16.

Kitigan Zibi Anishnabeg Police Service (Quebec)

A strong resemblance there Turbo ... but then again we know how difficult visual comparisons on the internet are.

Wish they had some strong leads for searching for Hiliary.

Missing teen's family pleads for help

Last Updated: Wednesday, September 23, 2009 | 12:22 PM AT

The family of Hilary Bonnell is begging for help to find the teenager who disappeared from the Eskinuopitijk First Nation almost three weeks ago.

Sherry Ward, Bonnell's aunt, is asking people in the northeastern New Brunswick community of Eskinuopitijk, commonly known as Burnt Church, to check their own properties for the missing teenager.

"There is a predator out there. Hilary did not run away. Somebody had to have taken her for her not to be here," Ward said.

Meeting between police, parents takes place Tuesday for Bonnell

Published Wednesday September 30th, 2009

ESGENOOPETITJ - A meeting between RCMP and Esgenoopetitj parents took place Tuesday as community members search for answers about the Hilary Bonnell case.

Insp. Roch Fortin said there wasn't a lot police could reveal about the case at this point, but said the search was progressing and police are currently looking at answering questions from the Esgenoopetitj community.

"Our role as a police officer up there is just to maintain the peace and be impartial and just encourage the press," he said. "[Police are] still working and ... I wish I could jump out and say ‘hey, this is what we got' but we don't have very much further."

RCMP continue hunt for missing girl

Published Thursday October 22nd, 2009

Teen disappeared after attending house party Sept. 5

ESGENOOPETITJ - RCMP officials in northeastern New Brunswick say the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fall into place regarding their investigation into the disappearance of 16-year-old Hilary Bonnell.

District 8 spokesman Const. François Poirier said yesterday that although investigators haven't officially determined whether they're dealing with an abduction or a teenage runaway, the picture becomes clearer with each passing day.

Poirier wouldn't get into details about the nearly 500 leads police have been working since the teenager went missing after attending an all-night house party in Esgenoopetitj First Nation the morning of Sept. 5, but stressed there is a lot going on behind the scenes.
