She's also on this site called "Facebook." Probably irrelevant though.

I had no idea that the information posted on Facebook in relation to this murder case is irrelevant. Good to know!

Model Mayhem is more of a hook-up site than a modeling agency. It looks like her ex-boyfriend, the one that has been arrested, was involved in setting up her profile.

Robyn Gardner, of Maryland, vanished in Aruba after traveling with a man she met on Model Mayhem. She called herself Elle.

It looks like Krista is the name of the photographer, and both Jessica and Kevin are credited. Jessica Rae is obviously doing modeling shots, but I didn't see any photos of Kevin. What could his role have been?

I always enjoy discussing Canadian cases ... everyone is just so pleasant all the time!

Given the very pleasant tone, I researched whether this has been discussed before and sure enough, it has - in March. I'm sure that it was discovered at the time that Model Mayhem is not a real modeling agency.

Interestingly, there's a strong connection between Model Mayhem and Fet Life. There's a community on Fet Life for professionals (architects, etc.,) who like to wear diapers and be tended to regularly. Very specific stuff, maybe we can find something more, based on the fact that JRN was a model? They have some fauxtography and model groups.

Model Mayhem and Prostitution:

"In 2005, Ms. Brainard-Barnes was a 22-year-old single mother who had difficulty holding down a steady job ... As soon as she enrolled on a site called ModelMayhem.com, she received dozens of e-mails from places that purported to be modeling agencies but that, after a few clicks, turned out to mean nude modeling and sometimes working as an escort. ... Within a few months, Ms. Brainard-Barnes was making up to $2,000 a day on trips to New York City. ... In 2010, Maureen Brainard-Barnes’s body was one of four uncovered close by one another in the sand dunes of Gilgo Beach, Long Island, wrapped in burlap."

Lmao....ty Eva for that info.

ModelMayhem and Missing Women:

''Model Mayhem has allegedly been linked to the disappearances of at least 13 women, according to Michelle Bart, president of the National Women's Coalition Against Violence & Exploitation, which is now representing Raven and Kara's families."

I think it is meant for networking from what I have been reading....not sure though if they ever claimed to be an agency. Whatever MM is I sure would not want my daughter on there.

It's sort of how like the reddit information in the Shannon Burgess case was deemed irrelevant... same logic. Anyone have a link to a thesaurus in order to find a word for this sort of contradiction?

You're right. Model Mayhem is meant for networking in the escort business.

I just really am the type of person who needs to know about the evidence.... Not circumstantial but eye witness, CCTV, and even witnesses. Was there a press co France today from CPS today ?

I have no idea. Was there? Doesn't the press conference follow the filing of charges and court hearing? Will that happen on Monday?

I was looking for the length of time that a person of interest can be detained. I recall 48 hours, but I can't find a link. Wasn't Douglas Garland detained and released (just before he sneaked onto his parent's property in the middle of the night). He was also arrested on a Friday, which gave police until Monday to release him. With Garland, I seem to recall that police round another excuse to keep for a few more days. In any case ...

Does anyone know Canadian law regarding the maximum time that a person of interest can be detained before that person must be either released, or arrested?

This is what I remember from the Garland hearing:

"When Tyndale subsequently ordered Garland be held in custody for an additional 48 hours during which police can continue to interview him, Garland said a quick “thank you,” smiled into the camera and then exited the hearing room at the detention facility."

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/c...between-person-of-interest-and-missing-family

I understand that to mean that Garland could be detained for questioning for up to 48 hours. At the end of the 48 hours, he had to be either arrested or released. I think that the arrest of Kevin on Friday was timed to give police more than 48 hours, because his release, or arrest, has to be processed on a week day - Monday for Friday detentions. Any press release/conference would follow the processed arrest.

That makes sense.

Arrest made is a misnomer he has been taken in for questioning and charges are expected later today. CPS has not released his name and will not due so until charges are filed. No other news source that I have found has released his name other than Nancy Hixt at Global.

That's right. He was detained on Friday for questioning. He was arrested some time after he was questioned, and he will be arraigned on Monday.
Police could detain him for 48 hours and then either release or arrest him.

He'll stand trial after a preliminary hearing.

Canadian Law regarding sentencing for 2nd and 1st degree murder have changed in the last few years. The maximum sentence for 2nd degree used to be 10 years. Has that changed?
