Detectives continue to investigate Strong for other potential victims.''

He has pleaded not guilty.

''A murder trial is set to begin today for a man accused of killing two Ontario teenagers.

Durham regional police arrested Strong in December 2017 - months after Hache's torso''

Months later, investigators would find the rest of Hache's body inside a large freezer in Strong's bedroom, Guertin said. Her blood was on Strong's bedroom walls and ceiling, and his semen was found on her body, he said.

A medical examiner will testify that Hache had multiple injuries on her body, including two skull fractures, Guertin said. But the doctor could not discover a cause of death due to the state her remains were found in.

Forensic investigators also came across a large hunting knife specially designed for gutting and skinning animals, the prosecution said.

Kandis Fitzpatrick's DNA was found on that knife. Investigators also found her blood in Strong's freezer and in his bedroom.

“Ms. Fitzpatrick found the same fate as Ms. Hache,” Guertin said''.

Oshawa man found guilty of murder, manslaughter in deaths of 2 young women
''A 47-year-old Oshawa man who killed and dismembered two young women has been found guilty of first-degree murder and manslaughter in connection with their deaths, a judge ruled Tuesday.''

''In his decision, Ontario Superior Court Justice Joseph Di Luca said he was satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that Strong sexually assaulted and murdered Hache, who was believed to be pregnant at the time she was killed. Strong was subsequently found guilty of first-degree murder in Hache’s death.

But Di Luca said there was insufficient evidence to prove that Strong intended to murder Fitzpatrick, saying only that it was clear the accused "unlawfully caused her death."

"He probably did (intend to kill Fitzpatrick)," Di Luca said. "But probably is not the test."

''A sentencing hearing is expected to proceed in person later this month for the Oshawa man who killed and dismembered two young women.

Due to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Adam Strong’s two-day sentencing hearing, which was initially scheduled to take place last month, has been pushed to May 27 and May 28.

Speaking in an Oshawa courtroom on Monday, Ontario Superior Court Justice Joseph Di Luca said given the sensitive nature of the victim impact statements that will be read, it is important that the hearing proceed in person, noting that all proper public health precautions will be taken.''

Family, friends of slain women voice grief at Adam Strong’s sentencing hearing
''Fitzpatrick’s body was never found, but in 2018, police alleged they found her DNA in Strong’s basement, including on a hunting knife.

Court heard during trial that Strong previously acknowledged the Crown had proven he dismembered the two women, but argued they failed to prove he killed them.

Bill Fitzpatrick recalled scouring the streets of Oshawa and several other cities in search of his daughter after she vanished, and being told he could not file a missing person’s report because of her “transient” lifestyle.

When he learned that police had found her DNA and believed she was dead, he was “devastated,” Bill Fitzpatrick told the court.

“After all the years of searching, this was not the outcome I expected. I was shattered by the news,” he said.''

My reaction to the sentence was anger, as I find it unfair. Kandis’s life was worth just as much as Rori’s. He should have been given a second additional sentence of 25 yrs without parole for her murder as well. He didn’t kill both girls at the same time. He made the choice to do it again a second time, many years after the first time. If they find out there are more victims, will the court just say “oh well he’s already in jail “ or will he get additional sentences? However, looking at this pig’s age and morbid obesity, he will likely be dead and gone before his sentence is up. May he live the rest of his days significantly more miserable than the families of the victims, as our tax dollars feed and clothe his pathetic, vile a$$.

So sad all around. The police told them they couldn't look for her, and now her killer is only getting manslaughter....I feel for her dad, I see him on social media a lot posting about Kandis, and it totally breaks my heart to see him so hurt. The police dropped the ball when she went missing and when they took care of the evidence.
