He’s a queer, nonwhite person. They never are imo.Just a regurgitation of the same article, the only thing different is the date it was published. It doesn't appear that media is interested in coming up with anything new.
The Imperial and Sovereign Court of Winnipeg and all of Manitoba - SOMS
To our Family across North America – for in this moment we are all family.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you that our Empress, our Friend, our Brother/Sister Kevin Tan aka Slaytana D’Sloot has passed from this world on to the next.
While your reign may have been short, long may your memory live on in our stories, our deeds, and our hearts.
Rest in Power Your Majesty – Until we meet again.
Pride Winnipeg
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we must say goodbye, as a community, to one of our own.
Kevin Tan (Slaytana D'Sloot) was not only an energetic and well-loved performer in our drag community; they were a compassionate, selfless advocate for our 2SLGBTQ+ and QPOC communities. They were, and will remain, a brightness and light that illuminates us all as we move forward together.
The entire Pride Winnipeg family extends their most sincere condolences to Kevin/Slaytana's family, friends, and to the entire 2SLGBTQ+ community during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Slaytana.
Heartbreaking. What an absolutely beautiful person Kevin was, and so inspiring as Slaytana. I was really hoping for a positive resolution, they were the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning. They seemed so loved, and their light even reached us, strangers around the world, I wish they had been able to see how cared for and missed they already were. I understand that sometimes that doesn't fix anything though. Rest in peace Slaytana.
