What actually points to DM being a dealer, what actually indicates that he could have been her pimp? Nothing in IMO but alot of speculation. She lived a risky life by her own personal choices. What I got from the pressor was they were not concerned by the fact that she knew DM. Trying to link to much I think. I think their relationship was strictly hooking up, nothing more, other than friends with benefits, maybe she wanted more, hence her non stop phone calls to him, the lenght of time on them is consistent with getting voicemail, and her calling back every few minutes while he was ignoring her calls. IMO only of course

Interesting - a theory could possibly be that LB is in hiding from DM, which is why her friends are so reluctant to give more information out and why her parents don't seem that stressed that LE aren't doing enough to find their daughter, because they are in on helping LB hide from DM

I don't believe her parents would help her hide. I've tired to put myself in their shoes. They have a daughter with drug issues, it has been a roller coaster ride with her issues. They are fed up, stressed out, and hoping for a miracle. But in reality they have accepted there is little hope left to get her off the drugs. There have been many times where she was "missing", binges for days, maybe a week or two, family arguments etc. When she went moved out, it was probably after a family conflict, once again related to her drug use. That mother was reacting to a media hounding their sanctity, she went out to answer hard questions with very little answers. They know nothing because of her past behaviour. They probably still hope like every mother, that she is alive, and will return home.
If LB is in hiding, she fears people that she has been involved with directly or indirectly. If I was her friend, there isn't a hope in hades that I would talk about anything, or you might be next....... all just my speculation of course.

I agree wholeheartedly. When it first came out that DM may be connected to LB's disappearance, there was another media interview with LB's Mom and I remember watching it and thinking, as in this video, she seemed strangely calm and smily, almost the affect you'd expect to see between 2 friendly neighbors chatting. If I can find a link to that video I'll post. I'd be curious to know what the FAMILY (parents) have actually done to find their daughter? Most immediate family members of someone who's gone missing, they are still very actively searching...they create Facebook Groups/Pages, they're out plastering posters all over, etc. I don't get a sense that her family has really done much of anything to find her, only her ex BF seems to have done anything. I find this very odd.

I agree, they were hooked up for a short time in a relationship. He probably "put her onto" others that he knew that could supply for her. Maybe they got her involved in "making a living" for drugs no less. When things got tight or short, she called DM to help her out. Calling him+++ smells to me like desperation. Probably for drugs only. All just my opinion.

Is it at all possible that the reason LB was making repeated back to back calls to DM, because she was somehow in trouble of some kind and was calling for his help? It's possible? (as opposed to the assumptions that she was calling him for drugs).

Not that we shoudl believe DM but he did tell SL that she called him for drugs and a place to stay. I don't think it is too far off.

After reading this story today I am encouraged that LE has seized computers that need to be investigated and that they cannot comment on the sources or means of contact that has been made by others with regard to LB

I am a newbe but have followed this from day one, my reasoning is maybe lb kept pestering dm for drugs and he didn't respond until she threatened him with everything she knew...ie. Chop shop..drugs. ??? Any thoughts.

I’ve been following this case since the beginning; I don’t think there is anything on WS that I have not read concerning this case. I am very impressed by the connections and information that the members here are able to drag out. I do however see one glaring area that has not been sleuthed by anyone so far as I can tell.

We know, confirmed by LE after yesterday’s news conference that LB was acting as an internet escort. We also know that DM used escorts, at least with regard to LB and it seems like a lot more often. He seem to have attractive young women accompanying him whenever he wanted, and it seems likely that he paid them. He was known to “buy” male friends with exciting activities, expensive trips and toys, and free entertainment such as the party house he turned his father’s residence into. It seems to me that DM was not used to normal relationships, and I would not find it surprising at all if he needed to buy his female companionship in the same way as he did his male companionship.

This escort theory explains the mysterious “fiancé” that accompanied him to at least one meeting for the land sale in Ayr. She seems to have disappeared never to be heard or seen of again. It also explains the two women to accompanied him on the sail boat; who in a normal relationship changes girls half way through a sailing trip? A new escort seems far more likely. Then we have LB, known escort, and known to be with DM.

We also know that DM was into gaming, and he had a fairly well established internet profile with regard to his gaming activities. What surprises me is that no one has looked for or found an online profile of him with regard to his escort visiting.

I punched “escort board” into google, and it turns out that there is a local board sp411.com that is a discussion forum for men who consider visiting escorts their hobby. A similar board is caerf.com and my preliminary reading lead me to believe there is a “redboard” forum as well, but I didn’t find it. I’m a very poor sleuth. There are also multiple places for escort girls to publish profiles of themselves and for john’s to review them. Many of these pages link to adds on Backpages.

If LB was an escort for any length of time, she must have advertised in or been reviewed in these forums. Much more interesting to me is the possibility that DM was participating in these forums. I don’t know the handles he used for gaming, but I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t have an internet profile in the escorting arena. I just don’t know how to find it. That’s up to you real sleuths.

Actually, the article states that Hamilton Police have seized computer equipment that they have to go through - no mention in this article of TPS seizing any computer equipment - so unrelated to LB.

good catch! thanks you are correct it was Hamilton Police -- so that's double good news after all because they seem to be very thorough and unafraid of investigating every nook & cranny and hopefully if they do find something they will pass it on to TPD! ((I realize that TPD is officially in charge of LBs disappearance but I do believe if HPD finds a link in their forensic analysis of the computers they will share
