The one thing I question is if they actually went to Whitehorse. Video surveillance is standard in most businesses where anything thieves would target is provided. They certainty would have purchased some food and gas somewhere. We have not had one confirmed sighting that they actually went to the Yukon. Also if they actually applied for any positions, there has been no official confirmation of this.
The general public has not been made aware of any CCTV footage of KM & BS on the early days of their trip as far as I know. The public has no idea what evidence the police have obtained to implicate them in the deaths of Lucas & Chynna. They have not been charged with these murders they are currently only suspects. I am certain the RCMP are gathering CCTV footage from every possible location they could have travelled through, I am certain all cell phone records are being checked but as it stands right now from the information that has been publically released we do not even know for sure if they were in the vicinity of the site where Lucas and Chynna were murdered. Is there any concrete and confirmed information that sheds any light on what information the police have to connect BS & KM to Lucas & Chynna? . Possibly that info will be kept quiet for a future court case?

Yes, I agree. Part of my point was that I believe Americans do need to be more aware, wherever they visit. I know that some of my friends are blissfully unaware of many risks they take while vacationing in other countries. It is an annoyance of mine, to see them put themselves at risk without being informed.

We read about these situations every day on this website. People go on vacation to have fun, often leaving common sense at home. From the beginning, I've struggled to understand why the van had plates from another province. Would Lucas and Chynna insure and register a vehicle in another state with the wrong address in their own countries? Not likely, but that seems to be what they did as tourists in a foreign country - apparently overlooking the obvious fact that the wrong insurance is the same as no insurance.

I've also struggled to understand why, if they were stranded at 3:30PM on Sunday, they did not do anything to solve the problem. If they were at home, would they just sit on the side of a highway, 4 hours from the nearest populated area, and hope the van miraculously started working again?

I am curious about the picture of BS in the Nazi gear....the background of this picture is quite clear...fireplace...small table with green chair......anyone know where ithis picture was taken?

I strongly suspect that the Alberts plates and insurance on Fowler’s vehicle were perfectly legal. It is not uncommon in Canada (and in the US) to purchase a vehicle in one province or state and drive it to another.

If you know something about engines, and think you can fix the problem, there’s not a lot of point in calling a tow truck. As I understand it, people stopped to offer assistance and Fowler said that he didn’t need any. If the engine was flooded, which is what he told the people who stopped, it was no big deal.

There are still 2 men missing. With that in mind, I'm wondering if it's possible they're victims too.

July 15 - LF and CD bodies found 20 kms south of Liard Hot Springs

July 17 – 12:30 pm – Ryan Provencher and Richard Scurr were last seen driving a 2019 white Jeep Cherokee in Surrey and haven’t been seen since. Their Jeep was found abandoned at Logan Lake.

17 hr drive to Dease Lake

July 18 – BS and KM were spotted at the Cassiar Mountain Jade Store in Jade City, about 350 kms west of Liard Hot Springs.

July 19 - BS and KM’s burnt truck is found on fire at Dease Lake about 115 kms south of Jade City. Leonard Dyck’s body was found 2 kms away from the burnt truck. BS and KM take his RAV 4.

July 21 – BS and KM seen in a store in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan.

July 22 – RCMP said they may be in the Gillam area. A short time later, the burnt out RAV 4 is found.

I'm wondering if the following is possible:

BS and KM drove from Liard Hot Springs to Surrey in the RAV 4 where one of the teens took RP and RS’s white Jeep Cherokee. (Did they rob the men?) One drove the Jeep, the other one drove the RAV 4 and they continued on to Logan where the Jeep was abandoned. (The fact that they're still missing and LE hasn't commented further has been bothering me for days).

The teens continued on together in the RAV 4 then travelled to the Saskatchewan area where they were seen in the store, and their current whereabouts are now unknown.

Please ignore my ramblings if this sounds ridiculous. It's 2:00 am so I'll say good night.

Edit: The details for the 2 missing men can be found here:

We have a saying here that goes like this: "Drunk words are sober thoughts".

Let us know if you ever decide to publish "@MassGuy's Dark & Drunken Memoirs" !

P.S. I'm still catching up... 16 pages to go. I think BS's father is being honest, despite his mental health issues i don't think he's looking for his 5 minutes of fame. I see it more like a cry for help. He seems to be at a loss... Probably being pointed at as the "killer's father" by his neighbors and community! And he is probably no getting proper psychological help that, IMO, everyone deserves! JMO

My opinion too. I feel for the guy big time. He is down to begin with, due to whatever his demons are, and to have this on top of it, well... one can only imagine the pain. He clearly loves his son and recognizes that the acrimonious split has harmed him. I don't view his writing of a book to be a desire for "15 minutes of fame." That is both presumptuous and unkind.

I strongly suspect that the plates and insurance on Fowler’s vehicle were fine.

It has been repeatedly posted that he had out of state plates (Alberta) but had been driving the van in BC and that the registration wasn't paid in Alberta (so not registered). Maybe it's time to try and figure out how that idea got started, but it's been restated here several times.

The official info (from LE) seems very scant, so now I'm wondering if we in fact know that about Fowler's van.

Police must really think they are still in the area because these two are not known well enough here in Ontario. Seems police are keeping it in the area and not airing enough warning that they can be anywhere and to be on the lookout. The police mentioned it in a PC but like I said it isn’t being aired as enough warning almost like they just want the two teens to relax that the police are at a loss when the truth maybe they are not. They may just be wanting the teens to feel less pressure and to make a new move? IMO

Officials pour gear, personnel into search for B.C. murder suspects in northern Manitoba
Officials pour gear, personnel into search for B.C. murder suspects in northern Manitoba

It appears from above article that LE have searched all empty homes ( 100 out of 435 total homes) in the area, and are now canvassing door to door of each occupied home.

It implies they searched the work camps already, but they could be lots of hiding places around the buildings.

Well, Another day we are waiting for something new to happen......Does the Canadian Navy patrol Hudson Bay ? That is a BIG chunk of water !.....moo

From a 2016 article:

Newton said the trip is also a learning experience for its crew of 45, adding it's the first time in a long time that the navy has been through these parts of the Hudson Bay.

"It's an area we've rarely gone to since the 1950s. In fact, heading south from Churchill in Hudson Bay is something the navy has not done in many decades," Newton said.

"It's a massive area," he said. "It's utterly massive."

I’m going to assume that the van was registered and insured until I see concrete evidence to the contrary. It’s a pretty easy transaction, and it is not uncommon to move a newly purchased vehicle between BC and Alberta.

There is no published RCMP information that links all 3 victims to same firearm.

The vehicle was insured, and then registered, in Alberta. That is the only explanation for Alberta plates on a vehicle purchased in BC and owned by Fowler. The problem is that he never worked or lived in Alberta. He should have used the BC address where he lived since February, but he probably used an Alberta address because insurance is cheaper in Alberta.

I also should add that to me, the father's primary motivation in the book seems to be to disparage his ex-wife. He's repeatedly blamed his ex for the current situation in the press already. The Mail said that BS wasn't mentioned in the book at all. Ironically, the father's behaviour seems to show that he could have been a pretty bad influence on the kid.
The dad wrote a book?? When??

Did you read the excerpts? They're nasty. He's just continuing the fight against his wife, shirking his responsibility in this, and playing the victim in his divorce.

Maybe this will help clarify things:

Court documents shed light on family troubles of B.C. murder suspect

"The father of one of the teenagers at the centre of a nationwide manhunt was charged with harassing his estranged wife, according to court documents."

"A judge sentenced Alan to have no contact or communication with his ex-wife and her boyfriend. In 2010, he was given a probation order after he was found guilty of breaching his court order.

Court documents obtained by CTV News Vancouver Island state that Alan was not to contact or communicate directly or indirectly with his former wife Deborah Sweeney and her boyfriend Jeff McKillop.

A judge also ordered Alan to participate in any “assessment, counseling or programs as directed by the probation officer, which may include forensic assessment,” states the court documents."

Father of teen Canadian murder fugitive tries to hijack media frenzy to publicize his new book | Daily Mail Online

"The father's book is laced with vicious criticism of Bryer's mother Deborah Sweeney, his ex-wife who he calls 'hex', detailing the custody battle over their son and alleged squabbling over a row with the Canadian Red Cross. "

It’s also not uncommon to drive a car licensed in one province, towing a trailer licensed in another.

Lucas was a decent mechanic, and explained his diagnosis and solution to another mechanic who stopped to help. That witness left them without worrying.

What RCMP should investigate is why the "flooded cylinder" didn't dry up after a few hours. Was there a different problem with the van?
