"In the interior, this is when we start seeing them. I suspect in Christina Lake it's any day."

"Acting on a tip at the property at the popular resort area, about 700 km southwest of Calgary, Mounties were surprised to be greeted by the bears they believe were given handouts by the owner to help secure the more than 1,000 pot plants."

Unusual goings on at C.Lake, could O.R. be hibernating there too..

Bumping for Owen...

No updates on the family's page in quite some time. :(

The Shambhala festival is coming up again... I hope someone will remember some detail about Owen that will make a difference to his case. Are there any Canadian WSers who are going or know someone going and could get his name back out at the festival?

I think it would be lovely of the promoters to put up a banner or something on their website for awareness, since it was one of the last places Owen was before he disappeared. I think I'll try to find some contact information and email someone! Anyone else with me?

Hi everyone....I have not read this case but did know about him missing in Canada. They have just had his case on our 60 minutes and I have watched it and am now interested in this case...his poor parents, they look like such lovely people.

The good thing is the canadian police are reopening and reinvestigating his case now because of the 60 mins exposure.

Like I said I have not read thru this at all but two things I got from the show are that he was released from the hospital with maybe a major head injury and not in a good frame of mind and secondly there may be something a bit suss about the story given from the two guys who beat him up.

Maybe that is why Owen has been on my mind all day today. I hope they find him soon .... alive.

Bumping for Owen and his family and hoping that they find each other soon.

Still hoping for answers about Owen and a lucky break for his family in this case.

Bumping again for Owen...

So glad his story is getting more press. After watching the 60 minutes Australia segment, it just seems to me more and more that something was not right at that hospital. They didn't properly evaluate him, and for him to just wander off from outside??? Glad that the RCMP have reopened the case.

Praying for a good outcome to Owen's case and that the summer festivals bring about some new clues for this family.

I thought it was strange also how the Interior Health person (his name escapes me) would speak about some things in the 60 minutes interview but when anything 'tricky' came up, he evaded it by speaking about Owen's privacy.

Bumping for Owen - he is still missing. I found this tonight.
Town rallies for Rooneys

Kelly and Bree hope the summer season in Canada and the numerous music and art festivals held will allow them to further spread information about Owen's disappearance.

I hope that everyone attending large gatherings this summer, keeps an eye and an ear out for Owen.I am also thinking that word should go out to the jail systems ...

Mounties lead search for missing NSW man
Natalie O'Brien
Sydney Morning Herald
June 26, 2011 (article has tomorrow's date coz it's Australia time)
ALMOST 11 months after the NSW electrician Owen Rooney went missing while on holiday in Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will conduct a ''search and rescue'' today for clues to his whereabouts.

They will lead a team including local volunteers that will scour an area near the hospital where Mr Rooney was last seen in August last year.

''They are doing a ground search in the area of Grand Forks near an area which has a lot of mines and forest,'' his mother, Sharron Rooney, told The Sun-Herald.
