US neo-Nazi directing group from Russia, BBC finds
Jan 24 2020
''The American founder of US-based militant neo-Nazi group The Base is directing the organisation from Russia, a BBC investigation has found.

Rinaldo Nazzaro, 46, who uses the aliases "Norman Spear" and "Roman Wolf", left New York for St Petersburg less than two years ago.

The Base is a major counter terrorism focus for the FBI.

Seven alleged members were charged this month with various offences, including conspiracy to commit murder.

Paramilitary training
Court documents prepared by the FBI describe The Base as a "racially motivated violent extremist group" that "seeks to accelerate the downfall of the United States government, incite a race war, and establish a white ethno-state".

Terrorism, no doubt.

But yet LE will minimize the danger the growing of number of groups like this and the attacks they are committing. We can just look at the terrorism forum here and see every single one.

Statistically, 71% of domestic terrorism in America has been committed by right wing groups, believers and affiliates

"Prosecutors and lawyers for a former Canadian Forces reservist and two other men at the centre of an alleged white-supremacist plot to trigger a U.S. race war say they all need more time to build their cases. (...) Prosecutors allege Mathews videotaped himself advocating violence to incite a civil war in the name of creating a white “ethno-state,” and plotted with Lemley to violently disrupt a gun-rights rally in Virginia."

''RCMP said he was driving a rental vehicle that he got in Selkirk, Man., and that he told border guards he had no purchases as he was only in the U.S. for five to six hours visiting family in Lake Bronson, Minnesota.

''When Canada Border Services Agency employees searched Mathews' backpack, they found posters about joining the fight against "white genocide."

"CBSA Officers also noted finding in Mathews' backpack a journal, in which was found a list that noted or documented all the mass shootings in the USA from 1988 to 2018," wrote Corporal Hurley.''

"This list included the location, apparent reason for each shooting as well as whether the shooters had mental health problems, family issues etc. The list also noted whether the shooter in each mass shooting had ever made mention of joining 'The Base.'"

''American prosecutors want former Manitoba reservist Patrik Mathews and his co-accused, Brian Lemley Jr., sentenced to 25 years in prison, saying they were working toward a civil war that would "decimate racial and ethnic minorities and subjugate women."

"The defendants joined forces with each other and others, studied violence, tested their weapons skills, stockpiled munitions and supplies and planned to kill on a large scale in pursuit of their goals," prosecutors wrote in the government's 45-page memorandum in aid of sentencing, filed in Maryland District Court last week.

The prosecution filed dozens of exhibits to support its recommendation, including audio and video tapes and transcripts. They reveal the depth of the case against the two men.''

He's only 28 yrs old now. Can't they make the sentence a little longer, like maybe 72 yrs so he's a nice round 100 yrs old when he gets out? And please, please don't send him back to Canada.

Ex-Canadian reservist, neo-Nazi member Patrik Mathews gets 9 years in U.S. prison | Toronto Sun
''GREENBELT, Md. — Former Canadian Armed Forces reservist Patrik Mathews was sentenced Thursday to nine years in prison for his role in what the FBI calls a violent plot to exploit escalating American social tensions and trigger a “race war” in the United States.''

''Mathews, 28, of Beausejour, Man., addressed District Court Judge Theodore Chuang directly prior to the decision, attributing his connection to the white supremacist group The Base as a colossal failure of judgment.''

''But Mathews never said he was sorry, Chuang observed as he handed down a sentence squarely between the 25 years sought by prosecutors and the 33 months his defence lawyers had been hoping for.

“I did not hear any particular apology to our country,” the judge told the accused.

“To me, it’s galling to think someone who’s not an American would know better than us what kind of country we should have here, and decide that you hate America so much, you’re going to infiltrate our country and … tear it down.”

“I got involved with the wrong people,” he said, pushing his long brown hair back over his head.''

Lol, talk about the pot calling the kettle black!
From link, thanks..rbbm.
"Although the document suggests the group member believed to be Mathews stayed with a Georgia cell member for months, he is later reportedly characterized as "incompetent" and "stupid" and is seen as a liability to the local group. In fact, he eventually becomes a new potential murder target.

Local police and the FBI believe the headquarters for The Base's paramilitary training camp was a home and 105-acre tract of land in Silver Creek, Ga.
