What a nice way to find out your husband is dead. I wonder what the wife knew before? Are there other kids? Really sad.

Is anyone else visualizing a made for T.V. Movie being made for this case?

:what:

New details emerged in the case based on some court documents released yesterday. CBC had been fighting in court for their release.

Jacket with blood on it was seized from Richard Oland's son
Dennis Oland's jacket and attached dry cleaning tag key evidence in homicide probe, documents reveal

The documents also reveal police believe Dennis lied to them about what clothes he was wearing the day his father was killed, based on what at least two witnesses have said and video surveillance of him earlier that day.

The article also indicates that as of July 2012 LE did not know what the murder weapon was. (And their speculation in court was redacted from the documents.)

So no surprise here....but it seems that Dennis Oland was been arrested today.

Dennis Oland has been arrested in connection with the slaying of his father, Richard Oland, 69, a prominent businessman who was found dead in his uptown Saint John office on July 7, 2011.

No charges have been laid in the homicide. Saint John police announced the arrest Tuesday evening. Oland will appear in court Wednesday, Sgt. Jay Henderson said in a media release.

"was been" (I forecast that next year, it will be the new phrase of the year! Take that 'selfie'!)

"Two days were set aside this week for the Crown and defence to summarize their cases.

There is a publication ban on evidence presented during the inquiry, such as the testimony of witnesses and details about exhibits.

The ban, which was requested by the defence, may only be lifted if Dennis Oland is discharged or at the end of a trial, if a trial is ordered.''

bbm: I can ''understand'' prior to a trial -- but I am growing tired of not hearing about details during a trial MOO
