And of course Stephen Colbert had this to say about Canada's humble Sargeant-at-Arms, Kevin Vickers:

Colbert showed several clips of the CBC’s Evan Solomon describing how Vickers discovered Zehaf-Bibeau on Parliament Hill and then shot him with his sidearm.

“To hell with Bruce Willis. This Canadian just put, this guy, our neighbour to the north just put the ‘eh in Yippee-Ki-Yay,'” Colbert said on Thursday night on his Comedy Central television program, a reference to Willis’s famous line from his 1988 movie Die Hard.

"Gunman Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, who was shot dead in the Centre Block of Parliament Hill Oct. 22 after killing a soldier, toured the building as an ordinary member of the public more than two weeks before his rampage, the Citizen has learned.

The RCMP’s working theory is that Zehaf-Bibeau planned to behead a Canadian politician once he made it onto the Hill after killing Cpl. Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial."

bbm -That's absolutely chilling and gruesome.....

Yes it is. That was my suspicion when I first heard Bibeau also had a knife on him (as did the other creep who ran down the 2 soldiers, killing WO Vincent).

"CBC has learned new details of Michael Zehaf-Bibeau's life in British Columbia that appear to challenge the picture of a homeless, drug-addicted drifter.

The account by a former supervisor and friend at a drilling company in Squamish, B.C. also reveals that Zehaf-Bibeau was open about his support for jihadi groups."

<<snip>>

"At the time, Zehaf-Bibeau was sharing a rented house with two other young men, both locals. He was making more than $90,000 a year, but was very focused on saving money, said the foreman. He spent little and drove a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder he said had been given to him by a man at a Vancouver Islamic centre.

"The Mike Zehaf I knew was a nice guy," he told CBC News. "Kind, friendly, polite and appreciative. He always had good manners, like a guy who was trying to impress the parents of a hot chick."

Zehaf-Bibeau was also devout, said the foreman, praying five times a day, every day.

"Sometimes you'd ask: 'Where's Mike?' And he would have just downed tools and he'd be off somewhere praying."

Zehaf-Bibeau also expressed disapproval of the partying lifestyle of his housemates, but on one occasion went out with co-workers and got drunk. Later he expressed regret and shame.

There were also episodes that hinted at a darker side"

"My hitchhiker, the Parliament Hill gunman

On his way from Vancouver to Calgary, Harry Bekkering decided to pick up a clean-shaven man looking for a lift. His name was Michael.

Michael Friscolanti

November 24, 2014"

"The Michael he met was clearly lonely and deeply religious, a handsome but guarded man who only perked up when the discussion turned to his faith, including his desire to move to Libya, study the Quran and find an obedient wife. He said gay people were “disgusting,” that he was Arabic—not Canadian—and that Islam rescued him from drugs (even though it clearly hadn’t). As fanatical as he sounded, however, Michael offered no glimpse of the violence he would soon unleash, Bekkering says. Not once did he mention terrorism or jihad. “There were no red flags, no indication at all that he was going to do what he did,” he says. “My wife and I have cried about it: ‘Why did he do that? Why couldn’t I have said something to change his mind?’ ”

Hello. I am not sure if there is a current Calgary thread for suspected terrorist activities but a recent article posted today has got me wondering if the crime referenced could be related.

http://calgaryherald.com/news/local-news/school-bus-company-warns-of-delays-after-fleet-vandalized

"Dozens of school bus routes across the city were delayed on Monday morning after vandals swiped an estimated 200 batteries from at least 78 Southland Transportation buses overnight."

What can these oversized batteries be used for? Explosives?

http://www.airdrieecho.com/2014/12/...anada-from-tunisia-arrested-on-terror-charges

"A 36-year-old Montrealer was arraigned Monday on a terrorism charge for allegedly planning "something big," says the Crown.

The Crown opposed bail for Nejib Belhaj-Chtioui, a Tunisian-born Canadian who was taken off of a plane in handcuffs at Montreal's Trudeau Airport on Sunday.

The Criminal Code offence that he's facing mentions the possibility of a hoax.

However, Crown attorney Lucie Martineau said the case involves "behaviour that would lead one to suspect terrorist activity."

"There are two charges regarding a reasonable apprehension that a terrorist activity could have occurred," she said. "The police officer had reasonable apprehensions that some things could occur and something big.""

The RCMP believes it has "come to a dead end" in its probe into where Parliament Hill shooter Michael Zehaf-Bibeau got his gun — one of the most vexing questions about the events of Oct. 22, 2014.

The RCMP had already devoted more than 130 full-time investigators and staff to the case, interviewing several hundred people across the country.

Predictable imo.

"At the hearing, the commissioner said the RCMP was releasing a photo of Zehaf Bibeau’s gun, “which seems unique, in the hope that someone might recognize it.”

The lever-action, single-shot rifle was more suited to old Hollywood westerns than modern-day shooting sprees. But Zehaf Bibeau, who had a criminal record, would have been barred from buying a gun, and perhaps the Winchester was the only one he could get his hands on.

The day before his attack, Zehaf Bibeau paid cash for a car that he drove to see his aunt in Mont-Tremblant, Que., where he was seen with a long knife. The knife was tied to his wrist when he was killed.

The Mounties suspect Zehaf Bibeau got his rifle “from a stash” he had at his aunt’s place. “We’ve been unable to conclusively establish this and we believe we’ve come to a dead end,” said the source familiar with the investigation."

Have not seen any evidence Zehaf paid cash for a car either. Original story-line was, Zehaf had a job in the oilfields, had all kinds of cash etc. Yet one person that met him soon after arriving in Ottawa said he was an obvious drug user.

No one has come forward to say 'I remember that guy when I worked in the oilfields'.

A recent CBC article stated the RCMP and or OPP cut their patrol of the parliament grounds in half or less in the days before this attack, despite warnings from CSIS that an attack was imminent.

2 soldiers lost their lives last October for a reason. Imo, that reason was, the events were to polarize Canada into pulling together in a patriotic way and stand behind the current leader no matter what.

Epic fail.

All jmo.
