I miss my Mama so much!

She died last June (2013) and I have no living family left. Prior to my Mama's death I could talk to her about my fears and despite her own health problems, she always soothed my own fears.

Even when Casey Anthony got acquitted my Mama called me to ask if I was "alright" after the verdict.

I guess my point in all of this is that everyone needs someone to talk to in really scary situations.

I no longer have that except for resorting to places like this. And in cases like people being gunned down and killed even places like this aren't really very assuring.

I really am so sorry. I cannot imagine life without my mum. Just know this forum is here for you no matter what you're going through, there will always be people to ease your fears ((hugs))

My Mom passed away last month and she was always the first I phoned when anything happened like this or anything at all. Just like you I always felt reassured even when we didn't have the answers. I understand exactly what you mean. When 9/11 happened I stayed at her house for a few days right after and we cried and prayed with the American citizens who I have no idea how they got through it. I have found that there are like-minded people on this site who feel the same way we do. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who feels like you do. Take good care.

I'm still in shock over the murder of the Canadian soldiers (the one ran over by a car and the one shot today)

I appreciate your thoughts and others as well regarding the death of my Mama.

What i STILL can't wrap my head around is a general populace wanting to murder any citizens of any democratic nation.

There is some kind of SERIOUS disconnect here.

As mentioned in other posts, I've interacted with Muslims my entire life, but have NEVER heard of this kind of aggression being portrayed until the last few months.


But what DO I really know? I only have seen what they want me to see and I bought into it. Maybe they were right, maybe I was right, OR maybe I was mislead.

I'm growing increasingly uneasy every day.

My sincere condolences go out to the family of the deceased Reservist Soldier..24 yr old Nathan Frank Cirillo...

2 crime scenes..NTL War Memorial and Parliament Hill (Centre Block building)
There were reports of shots around the Rideau Centre Mall but Police have stated that is false.

Soldier shot at NTL War Memorial later died in hospital: shooter then drove a very short distance to Parliament Hill and gained entry into the Parliament after shooting 1 of 2 guards...shooter later shot by Sargeant-At-Arms for the House of Commons inside Parliament Building..2 more victims sent to hospital.

Downtown core put on Lockdown.. 1 local Hospital went into lockdown mode of the ER, ICU and other acute care areas, Federal Gov't buildings in the National Capital area and schools as well went into Lockdown then status changed to Secure

Police say there was 1 shooter and that others may be involved but did not specify more that 1 shooter..even though many conflicting reports were emerging..
The security perimeter has been getting smaller as the day went on and Police searched the area..when I left work at 5pm the security perimeter was in the close proximity of Parliament Hill.

While they may hit well known places they can also kill the most unsuspecting average citizen even in small towns. No one is safe now no matter who they are or what they do or where they live.

This is just the beginning and there will be more small groups of terrorists or one lone wolf carrying out more mayhem and madness against us all

I hope to see the day when this rein of terror that ISIS has rained down on so many is totally eradicated. We are now facing the worst terrorists the world has ever seen.

I am not able to see your picture...if the long hair is in reference to the shooter eye witnesses (construction workers) just outside the gates of Parliament Hill who saw the shooter have given a description that the shooter had long hair..

Witnesses reported seeing a masked man with long hair and a rifle running towards Parliament Hill.
Tony Zobl, 35, told The Canadian Press that he witnessed the soldier being gunned down from his fourth-floor office window directly above the war memorial.
"I looked out the window and saw a shooter, a man dressed all in black with a kerchief over his nose and mouth and something over his head as well, holding a rifle and shooting an honour guard in front of the Cenotaph point-blank, twice," Zobl told CP.
"It looked like the honour guard was trying to reach for the barrel of the gun. The honour guard dropped to the ground and the shooter kind of raised his arms in triumph holding the rifle."

Court documents obtained by CBC News show that Zehaf-Bibeau pleaded guilty to charges including drug possession and robbery.
Zehaf-Bibeau, a Canadian born in 1982, was charged with drug possession in 2004.


he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.

Zehaf-Bibeau was in trouble with the law again in 2011, this time in British Columbia.
Following a bank robbery in Vancouver, Zehaf-Bibeau was charged with robbery and uttering threats. He was found guilty of the lesser charge of uttering threats and sentenced to one day in jail, with credit for 66 days already served, according to court documents.


Quebec court documents from 2004 show Zehaf-Bibeau lived in Montreal at the time, in the north-end neighbourhood of Villeray.




CBC News in Montreal went to the address listed on the court documents. Neighbours said Zehaf-Bibeau had not lived there for years.

According to Radio-Canada, Zehaf-Bibeau's mother, Susan Bibeau, still lives in Montreal and works for the federal government.
Zehaf-Bibeau was raised in Laval, just north of Montreal. Neighbours told CBC they remember Zehaf-Bibeau as a sweet boy, and are in shock at the news.
