It's good to see renewed and sustained engagement with Sonia's case (especially as we approach the anniversary of Audrey Gleave's murder). I'm sorry if I'm a bit behind / missing something: what are you thinking in terms of the bicycle angle, Gina20? Are you thinking that, if it's missing, that might refute theories on the perp returning to his home (that he had parked his car close to where Sonia's was returned or that he lived very close to there to walk)? Or is there something else you may be thinking of?
The articles about Sonia said she was fond of bicycling. Did she own a bicycle? I don't recall reading about one. Her car didn't have a bicycle rack, but it was new, a 2010 model, correct?
It was not necessary for Sonia's killer to be someone who lived in her neighborhood, and walked home after dumping her car.
It was not necessary for someone to own a car, in order to have a reason to park Sonia's car outside the tack shop. It could be as simple as avoiding leaving her car near her body, so returning it, and taking off on some alternate transportation, like a bicycle left in a bike rack, or maybe even Sonia's own bicycle, stolen from her garage.
I'm not sure how much energy a person would have after a murder, and removing and concealing the victim. It would take a strong person, and I doubt they'd go further than a few kilometres, but it would be stealthy. No one would hear a bicycle. They might not even have been wearing bloody clothes at that point, if they'd brought along a change of clothes, and ditched the bloody ones in a garbage can or dumpster.
Remember the Hamilton bicycle killer that was discussed on Audrey Gleave's thread? Not saying this was him.

I was reading about Helen Sedo's murder. Police released photos of her husband from the day Helen disappeared. He is now charged with her murder. In one photo, he appeared to be carrying a visor helmet with a chin guard. So a dirt bike, street motorcycle, quad, maybe even a bicycle? Helen's burnt-out car was found in or near a gravel quarry in the Huntsville area. Her family owned property nearby. She has not been found. She vanished from her home in Aurora in July 2020.
Not saying that any of these cases are related. Just saying that a getaway vehicle doesn't have to be a car.
Thanks, dotr, for posting that article, too. I 've been re-reading the stories for anything we've missed. I noticed that a local quadding club used to meet up at a property off West Broadway in Orangeville, to travel the old rail line north to Owen Sound. Nobody would pay much attention to quads around there, I think, or to quads around other rail lines in the area, or quads, period.
