Is it possible that he at that moment actually couldn't remember doing it? Then later have the memory come back, when he confessed. It seems that the first murder was a lot more organized and really if he wouldn't of had his family to call him in it might of been a lot longer before they pinpointed him as a suspect. Could he of suffered even more of a "mental break" after the first murder? If he hadn't of been so unorganized and arrested within 24 of TB and HB I wonder if they would of been lead to him as a suspect of the first murder so soon.
I am just glad he had parents that seemed to be so in tune with him and recognized his behaviour after it happened. What if this guy had lived alone or didn't have people in his life that saw the need to contact the police. Or what if he had parents that tried to help cover it up. He could of killed more before he was caught.
