I was shocked to see that although her body was found Wednesday, the autopsy wasn't conducted until Friday. That's too long. Also, police should never had announced they assumed she died from a drunken accident, or that she worked as an escort, they should have kept their mouths shut.

I think there are some officers get very cynical and burnt out with all the drug-related behaviour they see, and should be moved somewhere else.

I don't agree that the police should have physically searched for her body: they had no reason to believe she was nearby, she could have been anywhere, including no longer in town, or in someone's home.

Plus, in a downtown area teeming with people, why should police spend their limited resources physically looking around for bodies? Much better for them to use their ability to get hold of video footage and try to track her movements that way. It's so unusual for there to be a publicly accessible location to hide someone, where apparently no one, including the owners, ever visits. I think it's unreasonable to say, in hindsight, they should have looked there. The one time police conducted a massive physical search, for Miriam M, they missed her.

Uh, because until they have confirmation that she's deceased, they aren't looking for a BODY, they're looking for a missing person? Are you lost?

Uh, perhaps you didn't understand my post. Are you lost?

Her body was so close by that this just shows they did not even comb the area for clues about her disappearance, at all. This is literally so close to where she was last seen and to where she called her Uber. If someone went missing from a street corner isn't it intuitive to do a preliminary check for clues in the surrounding area? Look for a lost scarf, an earring she dropped, or something??? It seems like the first thing one should do.

This is literally open to the street. It's barely hidden. Her mother had the logical idea to look there... it wasn't some "mother's intuition" that led her to look there, that's not a real thing that exists.

Yes, I stumbled upon her YT channel this past weekend. What an adorable, beautiful young lady. Such a tragedy!

Police believe Richey was in the presence of a man somewhere on Church St. between Wellesley and Dundonald Sts. between 2 and 5 a.m. on Nov. 25, shortly before her death. The man has been described as white and between five-foot-seven and six feet tall, with a slim build and light-coloured short hair. Homicide investigators ask anyone with information to contact them at 416-808-7400.

I keep thinking back to that unidentified man and woman that Tess and her friend were speaking with. Strange how they aren't quoted in the media as not giving more information about what Tess did when she left their house to "catch the Uber" that she didn't even get into. I wonder if they've been cleared as suspects? You hear absolutely NOTHING from them. I'm sure the cops have been able to track them down. If I was innocent, I would be offering up information on the direction she headed, where she said she was going after leaving them, etc. We've heard NOTHING from either of them. Sounds really fishy. If that man she was hanging with when her friend left was innocent, I'm sure he would have come forth already. He hasn't even surfaced.

I also thought about what if her ex boyfriend that she speaks about on her Youtube channel from a few years ago has resurfaced?

I'm just rambling....IMHO

Wonder what that is all about?

When I left this thread last week, It was thought that her death was accidental.
I was quite shocked to read that it is murder.
My heart breaks for her Mom, how awful that her Mother found her body

More than likely not relevant to the case as the posts are 2 years old.

RIP Tess.

The unidentified man that was with Tess and the woman is the same one they are looking to speak with I believe. I assume since they don't mention anything about the woman, they may have already spoken to her and have asked her not to talk to the press or media? I'm guessing so anyway.

I am just catching up on this thread but does anyone know how Her Mum knew where to find her? Thanks in advance.

I was thinking along the same lines... I feel like LE is keeping the identity of the porch women quiet so as to not spook the man.. they are probably looking for him or know who he is but are gathering evidence first... just must opinion.

Hi Alice, I think it was just by chance. Where Tess was found was just a few doors down from her last known location... I understand the mother to have been out searching... from the photos I have seen of the location, I would have looked there too.
