The victim — in her 50s or 60s — was pronounced dead in hospital. No foul play is suspected in her death.

“I don’t believe there was any attention towards the suspect at all while she was taking the purse,” he said.

Police have not been able to identify the dead woman because investigators could not find her identification.

“I’m assuming her personal effects will have her identification so that’s what we’re hoping for at least,” he said.

The suspect is described as 40 with brown hair and a medium build, around 5-foot-4. She was last spotted in a blue floral dress with a white watch on her left wrist"

I remember that it was a very dangerous place and two instances in particular make me realize how lucky I was to escape Toronto alive. To this day, I have no desire to go back there. My favourite post on WS since I joined THANK YOU. Now how would it be possible for such events to occur? Whose cooperation would you need? If you wanted to share it would help but no pressure. Glad in fact ecstatic that you escaped and are ok. If Mayor Ford was the worse thing about Toronto that would amount to a kind of paradise LOL.

In the worst possible cases you could imagine those with connections being involved with the disappearance of children, facilitating it, being involved with absurd staged crime scenes getting their hooks into media everybody covering for themselves trying to get through their paltry lives no questions asked. Now that has happened elsewhere and no doubt it is still not quite that bad in the GTA. Nobody would for example have the courage to steal a skeleton from a nearby necopolis, steal DNA from the still living victim and create an absurd media circus around the event whether a staged murder or a staged suicide with organized capos from various crime orgs. holding down the fort. I know that kind of thing has happened elsewhere in the world - here we DO need to worry about vulnerable kids, runaways, for too long they have fallen victims to predators some of them smiling and wearing the uniforms of churches and supposedly friendly orgs.

I would love to hear about your experiences in TO no pressure though. Thanks for your courage!

Awww... thanks Chorley. The Convenant House is a great organization. I have no ill will towards them. They provided us runaways with food, sanitary needs and a warm place to sleep. Everyone minded their own business and it was a safe place. It was OUTSIDE the Covenant house, on the Toronto streets, where the real crap went down. I just couldn't believe the callousness and the predators that stalk those streets for young kids. I was there a few weeks and in that time I dealt with a lot, I can't imagine kids surviving on the streets for too long. I have been all over Canada and let me tell you, there was just no other place that felt as sinister and threatening as Toronto. Give me a good job, some money and some worldly knowledge and I'm sure it'd be a nice place to vacation or even live (as long as it's in a comfortable subdivision). But it's no place for the vulnerable.
