Its weird, the headline from the global news link isn't what is showing in my post FWIW, noting as they actually finally called her a dr, but yet not...

A white Ford van was seen in the area and a suspect was seen with a large green wheeled bin near the van at the time of ZHANG’s disappearance. There is information that the suspect vehicle travelled to the Village of Kirkfield, in the City of Kawartha Lakes, on the afternoon of July 25.

Accused:

  • Changlin YANG, 26, of East Gwillimbury
Charges:

  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Aggravated Assault
Suspect Vehicle:

  • White Ford van
  • Ontario licence plate BZ43851

Omg, I wasn’t too far off the mark, then.
Wonder if it kidnapping for ransom, or for something personal?
I hope they can find her!

She was assaulted inside the building in her place of business!

Ying Zhang is an acupuncturist.

An assistant to a lawyer with an office down the hall heard screaming coming from Ying Zhang’s office.

So, heard screaming but didn’t call police, I guess ?!
I had assumed there would be others working in the Holibalance clinic, but I guess not? Just Dr. Zhang?
I am not very hopeful she is alive…:(

If she was attacked inside her office during business hours, how was she taken out of the building??

The suspect being seen with a green bin makes me fearful of a bad outcome. I hope I'm wrong. Kawartha Lakes has quite a few large bodies of water and is generally rural/lots of wooded area. I don't believe this is gang-related, she appears to be quite proficient and professional, not one too dabble in that sort of business. Perhaps a former disgruntled former patient? A family dispute? Or maybe something financial... All MOO. I hope she is found safe.

Dickson said police haven’t confirmed any relationship between Zhang and the accused at this time, but they do believe the incident was targeted.

From the link:

"Police have reason to believe that a woman who was abducted from her Markham workplace last Thursday and who remains missing 'suffered significant injuries' that could cause her death.

York Regional Police say investigators found pieces of forensic evidence, including some belongings of Ying Zhang, 57, at the Woodbine Avenue wellness centre where she worked and was last seen."

The search continues for a missing Markham woman, despite police making an arrest in the investigation. Our Courtney Heels is following this investigation and joins us from Markham this morning.

“John D. Simmons, a lawyer whose office is down the hall fromHoliBalance
Wellness Centre, said he was in the office on Thursday but didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary. He said he would occasionally see Zhang but they didn’t speak because of a language barrier. He said he mostly saw women coming in and out of the wellness centre and Zhang would occasionally have a group of women over for what he believed were lunch gatherings, adding that the incident wasoff putting.””

Is he referring to her assault and abduction as the incident he finds “off putting”!? Is it me not understanding that term, because that seems like a really insensitive thing to say about an incident where a woman experienced horror and may have lost her life.

I think it's a weird way to word things, but I assumed he meant that the incident was disturbing as it happened down the hallway. I could be wrong though.
