The Orlando Sentinel is IN Orlando. The case was IN Orlando. I am sure the number of people IN the Orlando area that care/know/followed the entire Casey Anthony saga is higher than the rest of the country because the local media forced it upon them day after day after day for the last three years. There is just no way two thirds of the American population even cares one way or the other, much less feels.Casey was guilty.

At least 78% of Orlando Sentinel's online readership who responded to the poll (102,874) apparently care about this verdict and feel ICA is guilty. Those are huge numbers to my mind.. multiply that by the number of papers and TV stations both local and national, who have held polls with results very similar- IMO it is far higher than two thirds I keep seeing cited, but I don't know where that number originated.
Paper Circulation of the OS is 225,000 daily so the online numbers are significant.

InSession is a legal news program. Their target market is people who follow trials, and the law. Their market is a small, small percentage of the US population. I do no doubt a large percentage of their viewers feel the verdict was wrong. However, even if it was one hundred percent of their viewers who felt that way, the total number of people would still amount to a small percentage of tv viewers, and an even smaller percentage of the American population.

Again, I do not doubt that the polls, surveys etc are not showing a large number of the people polled, surveyed, etc are saying they find the verdict wrong, I am saying the people polled, surveyed, etc, are ones who followed the case, and care, one way or another. And that is a minority of the American population.

I agree, in fact most of the polls I have seen in newspapers, news shows and on FB pages like InSession have all been more like 3/4 of people think the verdict was wrong and she is guilty

You made my point for me. The percentage who agree or disagree all depends on your pool of people polled. One hundred percent of her jurors polled will say they found her not guilty (regardless of what they say now).

There is no way, if you polled 100 people from, say, Cleveland, OH, that you would get 66 saying they thought the verdict was wrong. Poll 100 people from Orlando FL, and, yes, maybe you would. Poll 100 people from Animal Planet TV blogs, no, 100 people from InSession, again, yes.

This case is/was important to us here, but it just is not as important to the entire American population. Believe it or not, there are people that have never heard of Casey Anthony, and could not care less either way.

I thought 2/3 sounded low. So in essence, she was lucky enough to find 12 needles in a haystack that said Not Guilty. Someting not wight here. :maddening:

Has anyone heard about Larry Flynt, owner of Hustler magazine offerince CA half a million to pose naked??

Actually, one place you could say that is Nebraska - but Ohio seems pretty clear where they stand:

It's being discussed in this thread and elsewhere on the board (scroll back a page or two :-)

I find it to be a most perfect cosmic match-Flynt and FICA are our true champions of constitutional rights!:innocent:
/sarcasm off

The title of this thread bothers me. She has not, as far as we know, received a million dollar offer for an interview. If there is any justice in the world, she never will. I know that Al Taylor (?) said he met with her and made an offer, but her lawyer has denied this took place. Just seeing the bold print of this thread title upsets me each time I log on.

So, will there now be a boycott of Hustler if she poses?

If she's desperate for money, she'll find a way to get it even if she doesn't get it through more 'dignified' channels.

I shouldn't think so. I think the Hustler "readership" and FICA and friends should cleave together and become a political superforce intent on righting our foundering system

I quite agree. It's certainly been her modus operandi heretofore.

The book by Fanning was short but good imo, and in no way helps Casey financially. I read Hustler and Playboy both say they have had many requests from readers to feature Casey, sick world imo. Hef said no way. Good for him! Larry will do it if he can imo.

lol @ boycotting Hustler.

That offer seems about right to me. A far cry from a "dignified" network pay day.

I could care less if she takes this deal. Puts her somewhere I don't have to be bothered with.

NBC News statement regarding Casey Anthony 7/28/11

NBC News has not and will not offer money for a Casey Anthony interview.
No money has or will be offered, no licensing or other arrangements.

Sounds like NBC is trying to stop a protest. :great:
Not buying what they are selling.
Seems they left a sentence out. Should read:
However, we do have an arraignment with Mandarin Hotel and put Jose up for a weekend, supplied him with meals, limo, etc.

For those of us who doubted the Casey mask on Ebay could sell for that much..
For those who of us may be fed up with news media's lack of fact checking...
I have been checking the seller's feedback profile, and lo and behold, the almost million dollar (Gator fan) bidder left feedback for the mask seller.

Something to the effect that the mask seller should be ashamed of himself for trying to profit off a child's death.

I would bet most of the bidders after 1 or 2 K were fakes, and probably those outraged.
Sellers beware!

USA Today and others are printing stories that say the mask did sell for almost a million...that is shameful! IMO

I think it's interesting to see what they are not saying. They won't offer her 'money', but they will put her on the air if the opportunity presents itself. Also, everyone knows that this sort of stuff has back room dealings all the time. Just because she's not 'publicly' getting money doesn't mean she's not getting compensated one way or the other. Anyone who doesn't think that's the case would be pretty naive.

I know! I read about a protest planned for Monday morning organized by some unknown PA resident. I could not find more about it...I would consider taking a ride up the Jersey turnpike from here (Philly) if I had more details.

BBM - Hitler started a world war and was responsible for millions of deaths. He has been a historical figure since 1945. FCA killed her child. Sadly it happens all the time. I can guarantee people won't be talking about FCA 60 years from now. She is not a leader capable of starting a world war or have a country kill for her. Let's get real.

IMO

Really? Just recently saw a show on Leopold and Loeb - they murdered Bobby Franks in 1924. People are interested. People are still interested in Lizzie Borden. And as much as everyone wants to believe differently on this Board (mostly everyone), the fact is there is going to be an interview, KC will get paid for it, and it will be substantial - and the reason it will be substantial is because the interview will sell for millions. I think the deal is already set. Baez is not, imo, going to let it sit so that time takes the heat off; he will get the deal while KC is "hot".

If the only people written about were historical leaders, things would be extremely boring. And lets get real here, one of the reasons many are interested in this case is because it filled the void and now it is over and justice was not served. So it is a double kick in the stomach for some. No one expected a verdict as quickly as it came about and NO ONE expected an innocent verdict - so the hate was palpable and still is here in many instances.

And all those who say I will not watch it will still find out what KC said and have an opinion on it. And this post is real.

I agree with you 100%. x number of people posting about her, regardless of whether they or posting "I am done with Casey Anthony, I'll never watch, read or pay for, or buy anything to do with Casey, I'll boycott anyone and everything that supports Casey", or "I want to know all about Casey, I will watch the interview, I will buy her book" is still x number of people interested in Casey Anthony.

Agreed Rossva - But it is easier to say I will not watch such a thing when we all know it will be plastered all over the news and 99.9% of everyone will watch it.
