Here in PA, yes P.O. do assists with job placements and are very good at it.
Guess there are always favors to be returned.
That said, many moons ago , I got caught up one time in the wheels/cogs of the justice system as a result of extensive dental surgery/painkiller with an opiate( prescription drug) while driving . Only probation though.
My experience left me with a disdain for the justice system, lying LE, crooked defense attorney(later disbarred), rubber stamping overloaded court system but with tremendous respect for the probation office and other, after the court/prison term, organizations that have to pick up the shattered pieces of human dignity/trust in society.

I'm SO with you! This case actually got me respecting cops a bit again- seeing what good honest guys these were and how touched they were by this case- this child.. it grew something in me. Judges and the court system.. no changes there though!

I could not care less either if KC address is private or not. Ditto with the Pinellas jurors. Actually , maybe it would be better if it is kept private out of consideration for any nearby innocent neighbors.

I don't care what her address is either.I object to the idea that exceptions have to be made for her, whatever they are. She's just not that special.

I had community service too. Always showed up, and had much more hours accredited by the manager that I was entitled too. It was a non profit org, that employed mental retarded folks doing assembly work and even went back as a volunteer when I did not have to. It was relative close to my house and never knew it was there. I guess , it depends what kind of community service you get handed down. Scrubbing toilets with a tooth brush probably would have aggravated me.
And yes, I am surprised that KC did not get any community service.

Again, I'm so with ya!

I had 200 something hours community service and really is where I learned the most about my self. It was the first thing I ever completed, start to finish, on time and with nobody else's help. I know this probably sounds corny but I became a grown up in my mind for the first time, each and every day that I got up and went when what I really wanted to do was blow it off.
I cleaned the public portion of the vocational rehab. Toilets and all lol

I have my completion cert. framed. That stuff is not easy!!

Thank you for your candid post.It shows that your experience was positive in the end. That says a lot.

Yep, it was a very educational enlightening experience. I can chuckle about it now and a word to the uninformed, when you are on a prescription drug with a small amount of opiate, it will take your natural inhibitions away, especially those in verbal communications and you can fill in the rest. :seeya:

Warning: A bit off--topic but somehow seems relevant.
rotterdam, I am so pleased to hear an up-side of this! DH and church members bought and refurbished two mobile homes to try to help excons (outmates, as I called them) transition into society on an even keel. Here in FL, when they are released, they get one set of civilian clothes, a toiletry kit and a ticket to their home (not sure how home is determined). We all thought it would be a win-win situation if there could be a family to welcome them (they've typically burned up favors from their own) and help and guidance for the transition into a productive life into the real world. We probably hosted only about 50 people through our small effort. Transportation, renewal of driver's licensees, helping find work, food, medical care and interaction with the .
I came to love many, not all, of them; but we have had only one success story in all those people. So you can understand how it pleases my heart to hear that you have appreciation for those who did help you along the way. Recidivism rate is horrendous but DH and I kept reminding ourselves that you can't expect a person to change lifelong habits, traits and desires in a few months ~ no matter what goals and rewards you offer. And even though what we had offered at the time didn't seem to accomplish our goals ~ a seed may have been planted that will grow, in the future, unbeknownst to us.
I have no doubt that Casey will also find like-minded people. I just hope she doesn't take advantage of them. Casey will find, in the "system" what she wants to find. . . and the "system," at this point, owes her nothing better than is offered to other FL outmates!

Bless your heart!

I know you all hate to hear this but it can be learned. IMO

Yes, that's how we all accquire it, we learn it by seeing our family's example and teachings. FCA seems not to have learned or is not willing to learn since the alternative has been so easy and profitable for her...:innocent:

I am with you. The "after the court/prison" system treats folks like humans/individuals again.
Prior to that, from the stories I heard, and repeated by probation, the prison system seems to attract employees that are moderately sadistic, although there are plenty of exceptions to that tendency of course.
Sorry Mods for being O/T but I did use the word "probation":praying:

Yeah, there's a lotta' morality in that family for her to have learned it from.

I have a feeling that FCA will turn herself in for probation while the hearing is going on tomorrow, trying to avoid being noticed.

No matter what "plan" FCA has for claiming her Bella Vita, any interview she gives will not be believed by me. FCA is too in love with herself, too fond of outsmarting others, too addicted to lies. She lies to, and lies with, any guy who captures her eye. She has no regret for what she did to Caylee Marie. She is proud of herself. She probably replays the last moments in her head to recapture her joy witnessing Caylee Marie's last moments. She savors the satisfaction she had of punishing her mother by doing away with Caylee Marie. She knows what she did was wrong, and I don't care if she shows up in church crying for forgiveness, she won't get any from me. FCA only puts out effort when it gets her something she wants. I don't care if she acts afraid to go out in public. She won't really be afraid, because she thinks she is "special". I hope that this probation is the roughest ride she has ever been given. I hope that she is treated with no respect, no awe, no special handling, as that is what she deserves. She is a common criminal who should be behind bars, iron ones, which I hope she is back behind soon. You can't implant souls.

I suspect she'll report early ,also and while everyone is focused on the hearing makes perfect sense. Well, unless Casey and the DT actually WANT the attention and maybe hoping an ugly mob will show up to prove their point. Shoot ,they might actually pay people to yell at Casey so she can continue to get special treatment.
I swear ,when I started this post I was right there with you,PJ. Then I remember how convoluted this entire case is and I'm off-track again

Let's just say ,nothing will surprise me.

I have never looked on probation as a punishment. I rather see it as a humanitarian arm of the Justice system and imperative to get folks back into society.
That is why I do not understand why DT fought it so vigorously. It could help their client but on the other hand does not help their quest for $$$.
I loath any attorney that does not have the best interest in mind in respect to their client but chases the almighty dollar instead..
