Detective Padilla...........reporter asked if they've been able to get DNA from the shovel handle and also from the blade. DNA from the handle would be the person using the shovel, and the DNA on the blade could be of Caylee. Detective Padilla couldn't confirm this at this time, saying the forensics on the shovel isn't done yet.

Padilla says they're checking the cell phones..........................

right.....

hey, did i hear it right on the call betw Lee & Casey??....did Lee ask her where she had her phone last???....has she lost her cell phone since this all happened????....i couldn't understand a lot of what Casey said ...

I am surprised LE gave her back the computer. She could take it to a professional and get into Casey's side or have the whole thing deleted.

They copied the hard drive first, I am sure

Ted says Casey playing cat and mouse game...I think it's more like a rat then a mouse...these people make me angry....Ted is putting it out there...said this is a figment of Casey's imagination...

Maybe a drug deal did go bad and Casey had Caylee with her at the time and they killed Caylee. Casey puts Caylee in the back of her trunk, brings her home, attempts to bury her in the backyard, that doesn't work, steals the gasoline, puts Caylee in the trunk, drives her somewhere ......... can't type the rest of that thought.

Although I don't believe the family is in danger, but trying to figure out Casey's mind, maybe she is thinking protecting the people from what they did to Caylee is worth saving the lives of her parents. Gosh, just writing this is ridiculous.

I dont think they would kill Caylee, more like kill Casey, or mess her up pretty bad, because if they killed Caylee....wouldnt they worry Casey would go straight to the police? it doesnt make sense to kill Caylee just cause of a bad drug deal.....and leave Casey free to go and be able to blow the whistle on the whole gang.

Just as a point of clarification, Padilla is not a detective working on this case, he is the PIO, Public Information Officer for OCSD.

Yes, Ted Williams is the best! They were talking about the private call Casey got from Caylee the day Cindy called the police. I am so glad Ted is down there, he's sharp as a tack.

did the reporter say something about they are trying to see if the shovel was in the trunk or did I misunderstand?

I didn't hear the reporter say anything about the trunk. I was hoping the reporter would give a date, but nothing was said, except that Baez says the shovel was borrowed prior to Caylee going missing.

LE, I am guessing and being married to an intel officer in the Army lol, that le would put all of casey's files onto an external storage device...like a firelite...so gma can hit control~alt~delete or system restore and it won't mean a damm thing (thank God!)

They mentioned it being in the trunk...maybe they're looking at the dirt samples. I'm not sure we're getting 100% accurate reporting.

:Welcome-12-june:Okay- in between all of my OMGing while this new news is going on (and BTW, I am all about the daily recap thread) I just want to say...

I am so impressed with all of the new posters on WS, whether on this thread, the Brooke Bennett thread, the Nancy Cooper thread, etc and even though my posts reflect that I am a new poster, I have been lurking for a while. I think you folks are fantastic and I am learning alot thru what you all post.... So as cheesy as this is, I just want to do this cause I like to be friendly!

I just listened to the phone conversation between Casey and her brother Lee.

What REALLY jumped out at me was Casey saying she felt Caylee was still "close to home".

Could Casey have slipped and revealed a tiny clue as to Caylee's whereabouts?

Just a thought.

I STILL definitely think she didn't make it far with that child if she did something to her. Orlando traffic is HELL and even when it's not rush hour, it takes forever to even to get the other side of town...nearless come back. UNLESS the shovel had no play n the whole ordeal. Since the shovel was borrowed for an hour...she couldn't have gone far from home.

There are lots of wooded areas. Notably right off of toll road 417 which is right in between Lee Vista Rd and Curry Ford Rd...only a few miles from their home. That area in particular is a very large area of woods. And then of course there is the Land Fill off of Dean Rd...which also only a few miles away.

Yes, Casey says she's lost the new phone which she had for about a week. It was a black-something (blackjack?). She remembers having it at Universal when she went there to see someone. She said she was switching the Simm card back and forth between her old and new phones. At the end of that conversation she said the phone might have slipped out of her pocket, and then said maybe it was in one of the bags at home. She said something about these bags as being from the apartment (Amy's apartment?) and it being all her stuff.

It's been a long day, gonna say g/nite.
Thank you so much (everyone responsible) for doing a daily update, it's really going to save so much time for us. Y'all are great!

nursebeeme- thank you SO MUCH for the "Cliff's Notes" on today's findings/discussions. It's next to impossible to keep up anymore. That's a huge help, so thank you :)

Something pricked my ears tonight on this phone call. When Casey was giving out area codes she clearly says 954 twice and even states that is a Ft. Lauderdale area code. That is where I am at. Now, along with the 954 mention - Casey says that this is the same area code that Amy has. I guess that she is referring to her "friend" Amy Huizenga - the one she picked up at the airport, had her car, and reported Casey had stolen 700 - 1000 from. Is Amy Huizenga related to Wayne Huizenga? Wayne Huizenga lives in Fort Lauderdale - for those who don't know him - he owns the Miami Dolphins among other things - he is one of the local multi-millionaires around here. He has a lot of family here as well. IF this Amy is related to this family what in the h*ll is Casey doing running with someone of this caliber? I've tried to run searches to see if this Amy is related but haven't been able to confirm. Also, I have ran a public records search down here for "Zanny" - there is a Zeniada Gonzalez (maybe even 2) in our public records down here but couldn't verify age - and doubt it is some 26 year old as the records were property purchases (2000) and divorces (2002) - not something a 26 year old would do - well maybe the divorce but no way of telling.
