Baez is a public defender, isn't he? Per OCPD records, that is his designation

I would imagine that he is a court appointed PD since we haven't heard who is paying for his services--unless he took the case for publicity.

aprilshowers, I read your story--thank you for being so open in sharing it. Do you mind me asking if your mom was relatively young when you were born? I have a few friends who have much less of an age gap between themselves and their parents than I do and I find that they have fewer boundaries in their relationships. There are some positive aspects to that but I also see negative ones as well (w/ some parallels to what you are describing) although I would not go as far as to categorize any of them as having BPD. Of course the parental dynamic you're describing can occurr regardless of age, but I wonder if it is more common w/ a closer age gap between parent and child than is the average.

OK .. so took a quick break ... LOL ... had some chocolate and am back for a few. :)

Chris, I am the baby ... I have 3 older sisters and 1 brother who died, who would have been older than me too.

My mom was 29 when I was born.

I don't seem to be able to quote posts for some reason....?

JBean, thank you for posting that. It is very easy for any of us to look at this situation as observers and say we'd do this or that, but it's an entirely different situation when someone you love is involved. Obviously Casey has done something really horrific and her parents don't want to accept that. They love her and they probably will continue to love her regardless of the outcome of this case. That's what parents do, that's why even some serial killers get visits from their families in prison. Obviously the Casey who is responsible for whatever happened to Caylee is a difficult person to love, but the Anthony's image of what their daughter could have/should have been will forever be in their hearts. A person can't love their child one day and stop loving them the next.

When my son was in his mid-teens he and his friends stole a mini-bike. When I learned of it, I put him in the car and drove him right to the police station. They hand-cuffed him and put him in a jail cell right on the spot, to await arraignment. I cried my eyes out thinking of him scared and alone in that jail cell even though I was the one who took him in. I knew he'd done wrong but if someone had come up to me at that time and called my son a thief or made disparaging remarks about him I'd have punched their lights out.

BTW, my son is now a hardworking 25 year old man who buys his own toys and he's never been in trouble with the law since.

Amy is filing charges? Good for her if she is! She's gotten away with so much for so long, it's past time she learns there are consequences for screwing your friends (or anyone else) over by stealing their money.

Last known communications from jail to her family:

Aug 2nd call to lee to get jose
Aug 3rd visit with George

I do not believe she has talked to them since.

I've always thought "someone" was paying him, remember when cindy said with a smile, "Don't worry about who is paying him." when asked by a reporter

Could George and Cindy have been advised not to accept her phone calls in order to put pressure on her?

So far I'm seeing a sentence of 2 years (cause she'll get out early for good behavior) or possibly probation. Seems pretty good considering she could be facing the chair or life in prison.

I'll see if I can find a link for you, but I do recall reading or hearing something last week. :)

Chilly Willy, I'm having the same trouble. Can't quote posts, can't stay logged in. SIGH. But at least I can use the quick reply or I'd go nuts!

But why refuse the phone calls but then visit her in person. Unless Cindy believes she can tell when Casey is lying by looking at her.

Or maybe not to visit or call her because everything she says can be used in court?

Ok, I knew it was going to happen, I lost track of things. I originally heard that the discussions of immunity had been rumors, then I heard last night that Baez admitted it had been discussed. Is anyone actually clear on the immunity issue?
