... how does one reconcile asking Tony to pick her up, meaning he knows where she left the car, with her wanting it to be stolen??? Are you guys saying she wanted it to be stolen from the lot from where it was finally recovered? If so, I still am not following, because Tony would have known that Caylee was NOT alive in the car when he picked up Casey

I always wondered about this myself, and have come to the conclusion that Casey is a naive woman of below average intelligence. She might have intended to create an alibi involving either a car theft or a carjacking. But Tony would have raised serious inconsistencies undermining this potential alibi because of whatever knowledge he would have gained by picking her up right after she abandoned the vehicle. Unless, Tony either intended to cooperate with Casey, or Casey foolishly believed that Tony would substantiate her lies.

It would be interesting for others here to submit their own opinions or theories as to what Casey intended to do had her mother never intervened.

After. In fact they waited for the DNA tests to come back and in those few days after the bodies washed up but before the results were in Scott planned his escape out of the US. They arrested him near San Diego, IIRC.

Yep with loads of money on him..and his hair dyed. I think he said he was going golfing...

I think they are relying on a lot of consciousness of guilt evidence. Such persistent lying to authorities, misleading and investigation, not reporting, etc. etc. is not normal post-accident behavior. So if they get evidence of death, they could charge her with homicide. I doubt they'd do it if there were countervailing proof of accidental drowning, but that's just conjecture for now.

Good point. I don't believe Casey will let it get to that point. Her attorney is basically waiting to hear the results of the DNA testing before she talks.

If it comes back positive for decomposition -- I think we see Casey Anthony admit to an accident fairly quickly.

Just wondering, what if Casey were released and her family and friends refused to take her home. Where would she go?
I have a fantasy of having her pull up to her parent's house and finding all of her stuff out on the grass.

I agree and I think we are all giving Casey WAY too much credit here... I personally don't think she is that smart.. I think she made up the whole story on the go while being confronted. She is probably like another Scott Peterson who never thought it would blow into such a huge deal. She probably figured mom and pop would go along with her story and "investigation" and not press her much.

I still can't get over the 911 call where Casey says to her mom "just give me one more day" and Cindy says "No, I've given you a month"... What did Cindy give her a month for??? To do what???

... to turn over Caylee before they (Cindy & George) were filing for custody...which is what really lies at the root of the firestorm that caused the fallout somewhere, it appears, the evening of the 15th/morning of the 16th (if you believe they didn't see Caylee after that, that is) ...that's just IMO...

I too think something was going on otherwise how did she pay for the partying etc. I tend to not think escort only b/c it didn't seem like she was living such a lavish lifestyle. The brands of clothes that were taken through the Search Warrant alone show that..I mean she had a George brand which is WALMART..MOSSIMO...which is Target. The other brands were very normal..nothing out of the ordinary as far as cost goes.

It's not like she was sporting expensive clothing and she seems very hung up on her appearance..changing hair styles etc. JMO...

See, I just think mommy & daddy supported her while she was at home. That's why once she moved out, she started stealing - from Amy 2 times. I also think the money for the fake nanny came from Cindy and went straight to Casey's party fund!

Caylee was gone a month by that said 911 call. Obviously Mom knew that.

Aaaahh... I never thought of that... it makes sense now!

That's what I don't understand in this case. There is so much evidence that Casey Anthony was not a good mother . . . The strongest of course being the child is missing now --

But back to my point. Cindy actually wrote in a Myspace posting that SHE (Cindy) is the one who has raised this child -- but now we are to believe that Casey was the picture perfect mother . . . uh . . . ok.

Stripping happens more than you might think. You can do it without ever paying a dime in taxes too. I do know someone who worked as a part time stripper in Las Vegas. She was also a single mom and she did get her Doctorate using her stripper money. She would fly over for a a couple of days, collect the cash and fly back. She had to give the club a cut and I doubt they ever asked her full name. She's a tiny thing, about 5'1" and maybe 90lbs. I don't think she was much younger than Casey is now when she started stripping.
Casey could have picked up enough cash stripping only a couple of nights a week and knowledge of that type of activity may have been why Casey's former boyfriend decided to leave LE.

Yeah, I knew strippers that put themselve through Law school at Pepperdine. And they were the biggest teetolers I knew. All about work and school. The whole point is, the girl was allergic to the word "job". As soon as any activity became a "job" she would run as fast as she could the other way. IMO, JMO, etc. etc. I just think the drug dealing, stripping, hooking thing is a stretch and to link it to JG is even more of a stretch.

If she was hoping the car would be stolen, the chances were small. Car thieves usually steal cars for the parts. Hondas and Toyotas top the list of the most stolen cars. I don't know where her car ranks on the list, but it's probably way down at the bottom.

IMO Most of the "stolen" cars that wind up in a lake or a pond are there bc the owner couldn't or wouldn't make the payments anymore.

Hey suzi, if you remember this, there is a video from early on where Cindy is saying that she and George initially BOTH thought the car smelled like a dead body. I have no idea where that is though.

It's crazy that they both were in that car, both admit it smelled like death, and they went into cleaning mode before doing anything else.

Scott Peterson's big mistake was dumping the bodies at the spot where he gave his alibi. He was counting on the bodies not to wash up and he may have gotten away w/ it if they didn't. But Casey's lies are just so self-sabotaging overall. She thinks in providing details it sounds convincing but they are so easily disproven it's laughable. If she gave a story that Caylee was in the back yard and she (Casey) went in the house for a few minutes and someone entered the gate to the yard and abducted her it would have been much more believable then going to a specific place and leaving her w/ a specific woman that had supposedly been babysitting her for years--which was all so easily disproven.

What comes to mind is partygirl. This girl does not have work in mind. I go with accidental death with Caylee, by Casey. I think Tony knows more and will cave.
IMO

While I too speculate about the car in many ways, what is most telling to me is that whatever the reason she left it and whatever the timeframe. Calling her parents or working with dad to solve her issue was not an option in her head. Moreover if the June 24th story is true and the gas cans were all cleared up between George and Casey why not call good ol dad it was just 3 days later. Oh because you were covering up something either way, her bahaviour with the car was yet another break in her pattern and her family dynamic from before June 16th.

What specifically are we looking for in these DNA results? HAve they released any preliminary results? I heard on one of the news shows, NG or similar, they had a detective on and they were interviewing him, now this was early on in the case.....and he said that they had done some field testing that verified the presence of hemoglobin (sp) in the trunk, where the stain was. So there was never any question that it was human fluid. Now, are they testing it now to verify it was Caylee's fluids, and wether it was from an alive/deceased Caylee? And what signifigance is the hair? hair can be anywhere!

The root of her bad lies is that for some reason she believed that the police were like her mom and dad... easily snowed.

Did she not think that they would actually investigate her story?

Okay, guys. I have had a super busy weekend and just can not keep up with this case! I have some questions. I read the last thread in its entirety and could not find the answers. Please excuse me if these have already been answered, I really did try!

1. What's with the "sticky" pants that were in the car, that Cindy washed? I know ALL about her washing them but when did the sticky get added to their description?

2. I saw you guys discussing the supposed "inconsistent" hits by the dogs and the possibility it was because dirt had been moved around. Please elaborate...

3. If George picked up the car, why did he ask Lee to come over cause Cindy was upset? What was she THAT upset about at that point? The smell of the car? Cause in the 1st 2 911 calls, she seemed ok - not happy but not upset. It was the 3rd call when she had found out about Caylee missing. Thoughts?

TIA!

This is what gets me Suz- why do you clean out the car, tell LE about everything in them, BUT the gas cans, so why make that up to show her there on 6/24- except to show her NOT somewhere else??

All I can say is I hope the GP's did not do the wrong things for the wrong reasons before thinking about the trouble they could get into. Because their life is going to be hell from now on without OJ and tampering charges. You get to the age they are and I am and it shouldn't be this way for them. I hope they hang on to every penny they have and don't bail Casey out. Casey will drag them down with her and so far they are letting her. She's not worth it.
