I'm just really surprised that we haven't heard about the jury asking any questions or asking to have testimony read back or anything like that. Usually the public is privy to those things or it's reported on.
Honestly I believe they are likely overwhelmed with exhibits, they are probably trying to weed out information not throw more into the mix

You must not live in So. California. The traffic is horrendous.
When I need to go anywhere, I know my time window is between 1 and 2 pm.
Otherwise, your travel time will minimally double.
If they are mostly in their 40's, many may have school aged kids that need their parents home after school or for school or sports events. It its also graduation time, etc.

I try to make any appointments or run errands after 9 and prior to 11a.m. After that, it's ridiculous. Even on the surface streets around my house. The freeways are just crazy. And people drive like IDIOTS.

Same around here, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., or 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., any other time, prepare to suffer in traffic h*ll.

That was my point to the original poster. Leaving the courthouse at 4pm isn't going to beat any traffic at all. In fact it's likely the very worst time to go anywhere.

I have 2 sisters in Southern California.

Especially, if the jurors are coming from Hesperia or Apple Valley. That Bear Valley Bridge is a cluster.

But leaving at 3:30ish is WAY better that leaving closer to 5, traffic-wise.
Someone mentioned end of the school year activities. I am leaning towards that as the reason for the early departure.
Cabo, any school districts there still in session?

#McStay - Reading through the answer and affidavits regarding alternate jurors being approached last week by a member of the defense team/documentary. "Defense counsel is not responsible for the actions of Robert Wallace...."

Right. But it is also graduation time in many local schools and colleges. Also recitals and sports events. Some jurors could have family going to graduation practices, ceremonies or parties that they need to attend. Leaving at 3:45 instead of 4:45 makes a lot of sense, imho.

I'm appalled that he's taking the fifth. For what possible reason can he not attend court and tell the !@#$%^ truth about what happened. It just makes him look like a total dirtbag IMO.

So can the judge still find him guilty and sentence him criminallyÉ (that is supposed to be a question mark at the end of that sentence).
