As I sit and watch my son's hair start to fall out (from chemo) I know without doubt I would trade places with him
He is my son.

Travis was a son, grandson, brother, and friend. How dare this B*^ch take that away.

Nothing but the DP is going to satisfy me. Nothing.

Can someone do a screen shot of the Mitigation Specialist for me from today? I have to show my DH her eyebrows and eyeshadow!!

Well, wont be around tomorrow to watch (cough) Nurmi but I would have. We are going to our family reunion, the type of reunion Travis will never again be able to share with his family. The hugs, the stories about children, the stories about sports, the plans to meet at the river and all the memories that they shared together good and bad.

I will think about the Alexander Family this weekend while we BBQ our hamburgers and hot dogs,bs each other about the fish we caught this spring, ALL that stuff that Travis and his family will never have together again due to the killing hands of Jodi Arias.

very salient point there: arias anthropomorphized him during her testimony A LOT.

(also note not a tear shed while Napoleon was mentioned but the camera panned to deanna and the family and they were bawling their eyes out!)
Juan left nothing out, not even Naps, I could hug him 4ever. :blushing:

EDTA: you know that little dog had to have been so distressed. Pets know. and I'm sure Travis either cried or screamed, or both , during that vicious attack.

I really liked it when Juan would tell the jury about some creepy thing Jodi said or claimed to have done, and then he would say "Who DOES that?"

I honestly had to laugh a bit because my teen Cheerbrat asks that ALL the time.

MOM Seriously? Yell I love you when I am walking into school?!?!

WHO DOES THAT??:floorlaugh:

I think she wanted the car to appear "local" and in Arizona you only have one plate on your car. (Correct me if I'm wrong anyone) So she removed it while she was about to enter Arizona and would be leaving her car around his house.

I really wonder about that. Maybe in the evening before arriving into Arizona she was into super premed mode and thought enough to bring the BMW Arizona plates and put those on. Upon leaving Arizona somewhere along the dark road she switched out the plates back to CA. Maybe she was in a huge rush and messed the back one up? Maybe she lost the screws in the dark for the front plate? We'll never know why the plate was upside down and the front one missing. So many questions will forever go unanswered.

Trust me, it'll be all over the net the minute it gets released.

True .. David Lohr will probably run down there the minute they're available .. after his awesome work getting hold of the police interviews :)

Well, I have to say that closing was just unbelievable. Head, shoulders, knees and toes over anything I've ever seen. I usually skip closing arguments because they're usually just a boring rehash of the opening arguments. Juan was just elequent though. Absolutely supurb. Passionate and totally rivoting.

I'm so curious what the court watchers noticed about the jury reaction. I saw the gallery without a dry eye in the place regardless of which "side" they were on. I even got a bit misty-eyed myself and I never have been emotionally attached to this case. I never get emotionally attached to any case because that's just not what gets my interest in one in the first place. I just find who dunnit's and why they dunnit's fascinating. And I'm still not emotionally attached to this case, but that was just a truly awe inspiring job by JM.

Am I crazy or did anyone else hear when he was finished some people actually start to applaud? Just a clap or two here and there before realizing that applause wasn't appropriate, but I thought for sure I heard it.

Please say it ain't so.

BTW: Just heard on HLN that Nurmi isn't feeling well.

Nurmi needs to put his big boy pants on and get on with it! The jury haven't taken a day off for a migraine or being sick, he certainly can suck it up and proceed.

I missed the part about the CDs but read so many comments about how that really sealed premeditation for many of you. Can someone catch me up to speed and explain the relevance? Thanking you! :)
Jodi testified that shortly before the murder she and Travis were in his office when she grabbed a bunch of CDs (from her car) of pictures of Jodi and Travis on vacation. She said Travis had been bugging her to see them. When she tried to play them, she found that they were damaged, blah, blah, blah. Today Juan brought up a great point: If Jodi didn't plan to go to Arizona, why bring the CDs? Touche, Juan!

Opening statements were so long ago (4 months ago... to the day?).
For those of us who have come to respect and admire Juan, he was new to us back in January, for the most part.
Each witness has felt like a mini trial within a trial, especially when the defendant was on the stand for 6 weeks.

So today to hear Juan speak uninterrupted (less a sidebar or two and half dozen pesky objections) was one of the highlights of the last four months. If not the highlight. I keep coming back to this word to describe him, but he is really effortless. Whether it's his natural born talent or he's worked hard to get where he is... Juan Martinez is doing what he should be doing in life.
JA is a dark manipulative force who continues to destroy and will never stop and IMO Juan is the one who was put here to put an end to her. Of course with Detective Flores and the rest of the team and the Alexander family. But Juan is a rarity, truly, it has been an honor to see such a good man doing such a noble job.

I LMAO when he said to Dr. Geffner yesterday. "Did you go to Alyce LaViolette school?"

Just the way he said her name... priceless. :floorlaugh:

I will say that I was definitely surprised at just how all out blatantly Juan was allowed to call ALV a liar.. I mean there was no alluding to, or implying that LaViolette's testimony was questionable .. nope, it was just very blatant stating as fact that LaViolette, just as Jodi, both were not just LIARS, but that BOTH had looked each and every one of those jurors in their face and LIED!

I was laughing my *advertiser censored* off when he said that ALV had left the fact off that she was a LIAR on her CV!!... bwaaaahahahaha!...that was adding hilarious and I know that Alyce was without doubt watching this closing argument LIVE and was hearing those very, very, very damning words spoken by this extremely reputable Prosecutor...and IMO she damn well knows those damning words are literally marking the end of the road for her as not just an expert witness, but as in any role whatsoever in her profession IS OVER!

JMO but that is exactly what you get when making a choice to lie and act in such an unethical manner...it is merely the consequence of her direct action in choosing to blatantly lie, deceive, and cohort with a cold blooded, remorseless murderer!

I cannot wait til after the trial is over and hopefully we learn what all has transpired wrt ALV and IMO her being exposed as being dishonest and deceitful for this defense.

(((((((((((Rosemary))))))))))) Sending prayers for you & your son. I had a similar moment today looking at Travis' family. I was thinking about how much damage a murder does--it has a huge ripple effect that reaches so far it is impossible to even fathom. What right did Arias have to end a human life?

Hey JA....those lying words 'Fkin ki$$ you bit$$' will come back to haunt you when you are convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to DEATH.

Fkin ki$$ you bit$$ indeed.

I can imagine Nurmi feeling sick today .. imagine having to get up there and lie for Jodi after it's been so clearly explained that the pedophile / abuse BS is just another lie .. I think I'd feel sick too.

This whole defence is soooo Jodi though. It's just her style isn't it? What a piece of work she is.
