I am just finishing up Juan's rebuttal and am SO anxious...I haven't been as diligent or devout in my Baptist-ness as I should, but I haven't found myself praying so ardently for anything in a LONG time. I'm praying for wisdom for this jury...but I almost feel as though I don't need to because to me, the photos that shockingly portray TA's death that managed to survive even after being deleted and put in the washing machine are the greatest example of God's hand in this JUSTICE that we are all about to witness.

It's coming....

As a another poster said, JVM is a Carnival Barker. I smile about that every time I hear her.

The first time I watched her on HLN, I thought WHY is this woman screaming, wow, neither my hubby or I can stand to watch her.

Just a guess but I'll bet the dt was asking to have ja stay at the court house during deliberations instead of going to the jail.

Or asking the Judge for permission for the DT to get Jodi something to eat.

So JW & JA taking notes during Juan's final argument? What for? Why? Show's over kids. Do you think it's just busy work?

I just want to post this one more time, message from Travis' sister to us

Message from Tanisha Sorenson
To All the Supporters of Travis and our Family,
As the time is now near to verdict time our family needs your support more than ever now. You all have been true examples of Christ, very giving , caring, kind hearted, and loving. The support of all of you has been heartfelt and has brought many smiles to our families faces during these hard times. We will be forever grateful !
I know that the most important thing we can all continue doing is getting down on our knees and praying to the Lord that we will have Justice for Travis here on this earth. I know there will be Justice in the life to come in the eternities but I feel that the Lord will also have his hand in bringing Justice here on earth. Our Heavenly father hears our prayers and he will answer them.
The jury will get this case on Monday the 6th and that's why I have a special request from all of you to join us as we pray and fast for the Jury, For our Family, For Travis, and For the Ultimate Justice in this case. My family and I will be fasting and praying on Sunday May 5th. I know from my own personal experience that the Lord has answered my prayers after I fasted, and that's why I know if we all do it on Sunday the 5th , he will see that we all have faith in him and that Justice is what we want and I feel he will deliver as he touches the hearts of the Jurors.
We have all been brought together thru this horrible tragedy, we have all been touched by Travis and his inspiration as he was alive, by the things he did while he was alive, and by the people he helped and served while he was alive, and because of the Death of this amazing man , we all share the love, the loss, the hope, the sorrow, the life, the faith, the gratitude, the strength, the empathy, and the unity, together. May the Lord continued to bless all of you for all the strength and love you have shown our family.
Don't be sad for Travis for he is happy, in a wonderful place doing the Lords work, he continues to teach, learn, serve, laugh, make others laugh, sing, and rejoice in happiness. He is with our Savior Jesus Christ, he is with us in our hearts and minds , and he will be with us as we get the Verdict of Guilty of first degree Murder and have Justice for him! Our family loves you all!! Our Heavenly Father loves you, and Travis loves you!!
Justice4Travis!!!

Thanks Alexander Family Fan:

I have already said my prayer but will fast on Sunday if a verdict is not reached by then. Hope everyone sees this post!

JVM gives me a headache :banghead:

I seriously cannot watch her! The TV's all get muted if I see her, period.

Could NOT BELIEVE it when she saddled up behind Juror #8 earlier today, trying to engage him & his wife in conversation... pathetic!!!!!

She has NO shame, zero, nada. I think I can't watch her because it's embarrassing! If I'm all alone in the room, it's so awkward!! uggghhh

Thanks guys, for the updates!

So they are deliberating? How long ago did they start? Do we know yet who has been picked to be on the jury? How long can they go for today?

Where was CEO? Thanks guys!!!

Yes they are.
I don't remember exactly, but not longer than an hour ago.
Yes. 8 men and 4 women. 10,15 and 17 are alternates.
They chose to deliberate from 9-4:30

i suppose i should head to bed,its been another long day.

i sure hope jodi has a fabulous weekend :seeya:

Yes, that is what she said.

On cross he was asking her about the injuries she supposedly received. She talked about being slammed and hit her head and I believe she mentioned her shoulder....then she added as an afterthought......'and my finger.'

I think the jury knows she cut her finger on the knife. They saw the interview with Flores where she said she cut that particular finger and even showed him the scar. It has never looked broken to me but looks like she sliced a tendon with the knife.

imo

This is what she said...Go to 2:20:30:

Ok, so I'll start on my notes. First, I couldn't see Jodi from where I was sitting because an interns head was blocking my view of her. I did have a great view of the jury though, so almost all of my notes are about them. I'll first start with adding my take on each of them to Anita's awesome list. I made a list of my own because I wasn't as smart as PASA (she printed Anita's list and had it with her). My comments are in purple.

Jurors

1.Church Lady- Mid 50's, short hair, no make-up, glasses.
This lady looks absolutely disgusted the whole time. I never once saw her look in the direction of JA. Not ONCE. She either stares straight forward or looks at JM.

2.Trump-Guy in 40's, lots of hair, car salesman look.
I called this guy "Comb Over" he had his head resting on his hand almost the whole time. He also never looks at JA. He seemed to be paying attention, but also seemed bored.

3.Housewife-She is a big lady (tall and heavy set, not obese) with a very sweet face, no make-up.
Interesting different view today. I called her the "Angry Neighbor Lady" Lol. I wrote that she follows along, but has a constant "sour puss". I don't know if it's just "her look" or what, but she seemed to be frowning every time I looked at her.

4.Grandpa-Bald, sweet faced older man that looks like my grandpa.
I also named this man Grandpa. He does have a sweet face and seems the "calm" type.

5.excusedTricolor-Early 30's, short, stylish haircut with three colors, reminds me of one of my hairstylists.
This is the only one I remembered Anita's name for because her hair stood out, Lol. She reminded me of my best friend. She probably gave more facial expressions than any of the others. She is very engaged and took a fair amount of notes.

6.Nancy-Lady in her 50's, lovely face, reminds me of Nancy Reagan with glasses, short sassy haircut.
I called her Spikey Hair. Anita's description is better. She was the only one I saw look at Jodi when the jury first walked in. She took a lot of notes.

7.Paul Rudd-Younger guy, mid-late 20's with spiky hair, sweat jacket, looks like the actor Paul Rudd.
He does look like Paul Rudd, but with shorter hair. He's a good looking young man.

8.Excused)The CEO-Good looking man, mid 50's with goatee. Can see him being the jury foreman.
I called this guy "The Dad". He looks nothing like my dad, Lol, but for whatever reason... I got a fatherly feel from him.

9.Willy-Old hippy with long white ponytail, thin, small build.
This guy looked PIZZED the whole time. He seemed to be staring towards the media lady or just into the corner. I only saw him look at JM or JA maybe once.

10.(alternate)Barb-Female, 40's, has the "sexy librarian" look, wearing a form fitting sweater, slender build and voluptuous. If ANYONE on the jury is offended by disparaging comments regarding breast augmentation, my guess is it would be her. She is the only juror I couldn't see very clearly; just when she entered and exited the courtroom and when I stretched up out of my seat to gawk at her.
I called this lady "Plain Jane" She was very hard to see from where I was, but I could tell she was taking notes quite a bit.

11 (excused)Excused for duration of the trial due to illness.Poquito-Little Mexican guy (maybe 5'3) with long graduated pony tail, lots of facial hair and piercings.
I called him "Paco" He was hard to see too, but mostly because he was slouched down in his seat I thought he'd fall off Lol. At one point he was bent over instead of slouching, but still very hard to see.

12.Neil-Early 50's high forehead, glasses, looks very nervous and turns red easily. This is the guy that makes KCL nervous.
I called this guy "Jim" I wrote "very hard to read".

13.The Wrestler-Younger good looking guy, large build.
I called this guy "The Jock" He reminded me a little of Oz on American Pie (Chris Klein).

14.Old potsmoking CPA (I have no idea why I wrote this, i have ZERO recollection of this juror. He did not make any impression on me, other than when I was going down the rows naming them.)
I called this guy Sleepy. He swiveled in his chair a lot and fell asleep at least twice. He was also slouched down in his chair.

15.(alternate)Elderly Man-This man is definitely the oldest juror, he occasionally uses the headphones to listen to the proceedings that Jodie's Auntie uses.
I called him "Captain" He has a very intense gaze. It's hard to describe but he gives off a stubborn and no bs vibe. Maybe ex military or something?

16.Maureen-Red haired, glasses (the red might be too red to be a natural ginger) If I had to guess one Mormon on the jury, it would be her.
I called her The Secretary. She took a lot of notes and had a "polished" look to her. She had her whole body turned facing Jodi. I barely saw her look at JM. She was the only one that really made me feel nervous at all.

17.(alternate)Pony Tail-Young girl, pony tail, plain, pony tail and sweats.
I called her frumpy lady. Not in a rude way... it's just the word that came to mind. Very plain. She took a lot of notes.

18.The Artist-Bald, attractive, glasses, 50's-60's, large build, holds his notebook on a binder as if he's going to sketch. He looks around the gallery a lot. I thought we met eyes a couple of times, but who knows, that room is so huge!
This guy also had a very intense gaze. He took some notes. He rubbed his face and tapped his fingers to his lips a lot. He wasn't the only one doing stuff like that, but I'll get into that in my notes.

She said it was one of her injuries from that day, from the fight with Travis. He gave her ample opportunity to catch herself before she finally did. She had no answer that day on cross for why she said that, btw. It shut her up, lol.

She did not specifically say it was due to stabbing Travis, but I believe that is a very reasonable inference for the State to argue. The State does not believe that Travis ever tackled JA, so if she says that's when she injured it that day (along with the head injury), the State fills that into their theory. It's completely normal to do.

The jury will read back over JA's account of being tackled and Juan's cross on that, I would hope. He wasn't trying to trick them; it's just the natural inference the prosecution would take, especially with her having discussed it with Flores as being due to the ninja attack.

I do agree that he shouldn't have used the words 'she said', though. But I'm just picky like that, like it sounds you are. I do think the idea of it was supposed to be an inference. Juan puts little stock in what she actually says anyway ;) The idea was that she forgot she was supposed to lie about the finger during the attack to be consistent, forgot to do so, and blamed the finger on Travis! Of course Juan doesn't believe Travis did it to her that day. She hurt it that day because of using the knife on Travis.

Juan would never purposefully do that anyway. He knows perfectly well the jury can read the transcript when that particular question and answer discussion was going on.

99% of the posters I have seen have always thought she sliced a tendon from the slippery bloody knife blade that day. I am sure that none of the jurors were surprised when Juan brought that out.

IMO

I hope they come back in 15 minutes and say guilty murder 1

I was thinking they have an hour and a half, first they need to pick a forman, then take some time to get to know each other, maybe there will be something for them to eat and drink, then the forman will ask how everyone feels, Hopefully they will all feel the same, quilty of course, then send a note to the judge saying "we're ready". LOL maybe wishfull thinking

Good idea. I just clipped a blue one next to the elephant charm on the bracelet my daughter gave me.

I lit a blue candle and will keep it burning until the verdict is given.
