Amen to that. In Easley SC, on May 14th, we had a mother shoot and kill her 5 and 7 yr old children, and her husband (who is in critical condition) but was 'unable' to kill herself as planned. She took off in a family vehicle and wrecked it close by, which led to the murder scene. It has not yet been reported what her story was or the husbands acct of what happened.
Who could pull the trigger on their own 5 and 7 yr olds and not themselves?
This family's home was shown on tv, and they seemed to have a nice life. Who knows anymore?

Insanity plea being considered by Lesyshen's attorney

Steamboat Springs — Lawyers for the Routt County woman accused of murdering her 9-year-old son anticipate possibly entering a not guilty plea by reason of insanity.

#Lisa Lesyshen is scheduled to enter a plea during her arraignment Dec. 20, but her attorney, public defender Scott Troxell, is asking that the arraignment be delayed.

Lisa Lesyshen pleads not guilty by reason of insanity to murder charges in her son's death

A mother who survived shooting herself after allegedly killing her son entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity Thursday.

Lisa Lesyshen, who is charged with first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death, is accused of killing her 9-year-old son on May 29, 2013. Asher Lesyshen-Kirlan was found shot to death in the home in Stagecoach.

Judge Michael O'Hara accepted Lseyshen's plea Thursday and ordered her to be evaluated by a state-appointed psychiatrist, according to the 14th Judicial District Attorney's office. That evaluation aims to determine if she was incapable of distinguishing right from wrong or incapable of acting with the requisite culpable mental state.

The results of her mental health evaluation are due by May 21, 2014.

Deputies from the Routt County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home on a report of an attempted suicide with multiple victims at 2:55 a.m.
Investigators say the resident of the home, Michael Kirlan met deputies and told them his son was dead inside the house, and his wife, Lisa Marie Lesyshen, 45, was upstairs with a gun.
They found the boy, 9-year-old Asher and then his mother. She was unconscious with a gunshot wound. Paramedics took her to the Yampa Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Lesyshen was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center, and investigators found three shell casings where she had been laying.

*Is it odd that she would shoot her son 3 times and then pick up the shell casings and carry them with her to her room?

Hope the link works. Its an old article but I didnt see that anyone had mentioned it.

Says she had learned husband had an affair right before killing her 9 year old son. What a sick vengeful woman. As a mother I cant understand it. This is not an insanity case IMO- this was a premeditated murder to punish her husband. Since when is there any excuse to kill your kids and blame your spouse and tell them its all
their fault because they cheated on you?
