Dad would have been screaming at the airport if Dylan hadn't even arrived.

And LE stated Dylan had made it La Plata County, beyond that they don't have much....not verbatim.

Alot of info came out late last evening and is in the last thread.

It does seem odd that Dylan's mother, brother & father have all publicly spoken of him using past tense. Mother & brother were in Colorado Springs when he went missing, so unlikely they are involved & they surely can't know with certainty that he is dead. MR, on the other hand, could know (last known person to see Dylan).

Yes, I agree. Saying that a child is not able to wake up is cause for concern and a telling first statement IMO. I personally feel it's a self deception. (I didn't do anything to him, he was just non-responsive in the morning and then he was just gone). Guilt and denial would be at the heart of that sentiment.
Then, dad not having any items of DR's or a scent item just kind of follows up the thought that DR did not sleep in a bed Sunday night.

The statement of not being able to awake Dylan has bothered me a lot!

I cannot imagine not being able to at least get some kind of a reaction at all from Dylan. Especially since he had made plans to see his friends.

Being a biology major, a Medical Technolgist ASCP, retired lol but I am still thnkning scientifically. Did Dylan really sleep at his father's house the night he arrived? When LE checked the house, did they check for evidence Dylan had actually slelpt in his bed?

Our bodies shed about a million skin cells a day, so some of those are bound to come off when you sleep. DNA can be found in skin cells. Sheets could be checked, microscopically and tested.

Might be crazy, tho I am trying to think of anything to verify Dylan was still around in the morning. Still having doubts about the father's statement, not being able to awake Dylan. jmo

maybe they're looking for someone following them, but they could also be checking to see if they even went on the roads that would take them to dad's house at all. DR landed in Durango and then I don't think LE know's where he went after that. I read into it that they have no proof DR was at dad's house recently. which clearly is not possible if you believe dad's story.

Okay, going to try to keep my toes at the water's edge of the wading pool with this one.

LE is asking for video/photos starting at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday night for the roads traveled since the airport. If someone was following his dad, found opportunity to abduct Dylan in that time frame? Would that increase the time frame to an almost 24 hour time period? He was reported missing appx between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Monday. Whoever did this had a lot of time to take care of any traces that may have been left behind.


As for Dylan having missed Thanksgiving with his dying aunt, that is such a shame! Have to wonder how it affected her health that week, knowing how sick she is and that she may never see him again.

Its too bad the family could not work out some kind of a compromise; perhaps Dylan could have spent Thanksgiving day with his aunt and then flown out first thing Friday morning to spend the rest of the Thanksgiving holiday with his dad. There are many people who do not celebrate Thanksgiving until Friday - Sunday due to work obligations or scheduling issues.

I'm trying to understand why flexibility could not be afforded this one time, considering the circumstances.

jmo, but most everyone was pretty objective from the beginning in assessing the situation from what we knew, what was confirmed, what was said and what wasn't said. As well as actions that were taken or were not taken. There have been posters playing devil's advocate with others and even with themselves, and there have been posters remaining open minded remaining on the fence but when you start to look at everything cumulatively about dad it becomes very, very difficult to make the pieces fit with any potential scenario where he looks good. Again jmo. I don't think most people have jumped to conclusions but have carefully and in some cases slowly come to the painful idea that he may be involved.

However I think everyone would be thrilled if he had nothing to do with Dylan's disappearance and Dylan is somewhere alive and waiting to be found.

100% Agree! We have hashed it out over and over with different scenarios truly trying to think of any plausible way this could have happened.
Unfortunately with the timeline given by dad himself and LE dismissing run-away, it kept leaning one way for a lot us. Obviously not everyone is there but I do think most here have tried to be objective with things we have learned and sorting through this process.

I have tried to be objective even when my heart was feeling one way, I had tried to see it another.
What ever happened to this sweet boy, I pray he is found soon!

Doesn't meet the criteria, namely

There must be sufficient descriptive information of child, captor, or captor's vehicle to issue an alert

and

LE must confirm that an abduction has taken place.... which they hadn't settled on til recently (runaway possibility).

Thank you mods for the extra freedom in discussing the case with reasonable speculation.

Do we know if MR's house/property is being searched again today or if there are any investigators on sight?
Without my degree in CSI, CSI:NY, and CSI:Miami I can only guess what LE was looking for in searching the home and vehicles... well, maybe I can make some better educated guesses... Any thoughts on how long processing any findings could take? Even if a subsequent round of further testing is needed, could we expect results today? I believe this case is highest priority so everything is put on rush. I'd guess that if there's anything that nees to be checked again or verified, LE would go back to the home immediately.

Really hoping that today will provide some answers. And some positive answers.

I have a bad habit of speaking in the past tense. I also say, the kid or that kid. Most often I call my DS, my kid. And my adult daughter, who is the oldest child, my baby girl.

If brother did stay the night, was it Tuesday night? The night of the vigil?

And if he did, I'd sure love to hear a statement from him.

When I read that MR's brother was flying in so MR could have family support in Vallecito, for some reason, I got it in my head that he may end up being the 'family spokesperson' for MR and maybe make a statement or two to the media.
Then I remembered MR saying something along the lines of not knowing what to do or how to handle the situation, thus his brother flying in, and then my mind wandered to the fact that maybe his brother was coming to help nudge MR to being more helpful to LE. NOT saying MR wasn't being helpful already, just saying more helpful. Seems MR needed the advisement of his brother.

WOW! If that was his plan, something went wrong? Thus the, 'He was out like a light' comment? :what:

Have another thought on this scenario, but think I read something about no discussion of real property at the beginning on the thread :waitasec:

I've seen a couple of photographs of the investigators outside the home but I can't recall if there's been any video footage. I haven't seen bags of evidence or items being taken out of the home but that could be because there was little/no media, or they were able to put bagged items directly into their CSI vans.

As far as us knowing / being told:

At this point I guess we''ll have to speculate more and wait more...

I really don't think the press would be able to see anything as the video showing the tents and trailers are all covered and even appears a white sheet or something is between the truck and tents, shielding the view from outsiders.

Worst case scenario for me is them having nothing. Like, absolutely nothing that is evidence beyond "we think" or very circumstantial evidence. I hope there is a smoking gun somewhere.

Dad talking about Dylan in the past-tense is bothersome. I realize the brother did too but something about the way the Dad said it disturbed me.

It's as if he were speaking at a memorial service of someone who died. That's my take on it.

Maybe due to a Holiday weekend somebody may have something on video they are unaware of. It really is a beautiful area. I know when i travel and see a nice view I pan the area. Sometimes with Family we are outside taking candid shots or video.
