I have heard that statement made all my life and it is said in an endearing loving way.

I'm in Va and I use "that kid" (my baby) and "that brat" (my teen) as terms of endearments.

I think it's only wise to look closely at the last person to see a missing person. No matter who that person may be. That's what LE does. I really hate that everyone points fingers at the parents first and I am certainly not doing so. Just keeping an open mind to all possibilities. I don't pay any attention to comments made by the mother towards the father. They are obviously involved in an ugly battle so it's only fitting that she would make those comments. We have no proof of anything about the father being violent. Of course to me that's here nor there. It doesn't mean he did or he didn't do anything.

I defended him until about 2 this morning I think, so I get how you feel. The video did it for me.

I see everyone talking about this video but I must have missed it. Is there a link? I wanna see! I wanna see!!! :blushing:

Okay, going to try to keep my toes at the water's edge of the wading pool with this one.

LE is asking for video/photos starting at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday night for the roads traveled since the airport. If someone was following his dad, found opportunity to abduct Dylan in that time frame? Would that increase the time frame to an almost 24 hour time period? He was reported missing appx between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Monday. Whoever did this had a lot of time to take care of any traces that may have been left behind.

As for Dylan having missed Thanksgiving with his dying aunt, that is such a shame! Have to wonder how it affected her health that week, knowing how sick she is and that she may never see him again.

Its too bad the family could not work out some kind of a compromise; perhaps Dylan could have spent Thanksgiving day with his aunt and then flown out first thing Friday morning to spend the rest of the Thanksgiving holiday with his dad. There are many people who do not celebrate Thanksgiving until Friday - Sunday due to work obligations or scheduling issues.

I'm trying to understand why flexibility could not be afforded this one time, considering the circumstances. :(

Under a search warrant can LE get clothing belonging to all people living in the home? I don't know how sensitive the scent dogs are. What if a person is carrying the child? Can these dogs still pick up the scent of the child or would the dogs need the scent of the carrier?

As far as the older son spending the night with his father that old saying about keeping your enemies closer popped into my head.

jmo, but most everyone was pretty objective from the beginning in assessing the situation from what we knew, what was confirmed, what was said and what wasn't said. As well as actions that were taken or were not taken. There have been posters playing devil's advocate with others and even with themselves, and there have been posters remaining open minded remaining on the fence but when you start to look at everything cumulatively about dad it becomes very, very difficult to make the pieces fit with any potential scenario where he looks good. Again jmo. I don't think most people have jumped to conclusions but have carefully and in some cases slowly come to the painful idea that he may be involved.

However I think everyone would be thrilled if he had nothing to do with Dylan's disappearance and Dylan is somewhere alive and waiting to be found.

There were accusations against the father very early (probably within the first page), but they were removed in the beginning. Later people were just warned not to do it anymore. Some people were sure he was guilty because he wouldn't speak to the press, and once he did they were sure he was guilty because he didn't word things the way he "should". I admit that it doesn't look good for him being innocent, but that doesn't mean he couldn't be. The main reason for a long time was just because the cell phone hadn't been used, or even turned on, after the first night, but there could be other reasons for that. I just haven't come up with any good explanations.

“I want everyone to know how much I love that boy and how much I cared about him, and how much I thank the community for all the effort that they put in,” he said. “He was such a wonderful boy. He meant everything.”

I am surprised at all the bashing of Mark Redwine on this site. It appears to me that it is totally unwarranted.

Actually, while not being able to account for every word of every thread about Dylan's disappearance -- for what I've read, there really wasn't any 'bashing' of MR.
If you want to see bashing, you should have seen what was being said about Tori Stafford's mom when she went missing! :what: and :what: followed by even bigger doses of :what: :what: followed by the occasional thud in between the mix.

:(

I would say that's very wise of LE. Who but the Father had seen him after 6pm on Sunday? They are trying to figure out exactly when Dylan went missing. I don't think this necessarily means they are pointing fingers at the father, but rather thorough police work.

Unless the court can mandate a visit and parties who don't comply can all be held in contempt? then I have to wonder who would NOT want to be flexible about this visit.

In addition, if the last person to see the missing person is honest and forthcoming, they could give account of the person's state of mind, mood, disposition and so on. (thinking of what Jessican's mom shared about her the morning she left for school - making her lunch and she was happy). This info can be very helpful to LE; if the child was out of sorts, it might lead LE to lean more towards searching for a runaway, see if the child (or adult) might be leaning towards suicide and so on, for example.

It horrifies me to think Dylan could be anywhere along the route from the airport to Mark Redwine's home. All of those side streets that could have been travelled along for God knows how long. And the hours that stretched between the time Dylan's flight landed and the time he was reported missing....nearly 24 hours of time during which we have very few details and zero confirmed sightings of Dylan short of Mark Redwine's word.

I have not heard that either, but I did see the two of them hugging on the live news feed of the vigil.

I believe the dad's brother is staying with him, not Dylan's brother.

Why did the music from "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" pop into my head when I read that?

I really need a distraction so I'm playing with the avatar apps on my phone. If anybody wants one send me a message and let me know what ya want.

Oh yeah. I remember that.

From above link - looks like I've been reading this wrong:

"Afternoon: Two rescue workers think they may have seen Dylan on two separate occasions but say he fled into the forest. One of the sightings turned out to be a jogger; the other sighting may have been the same jogger or Dylan."

I had thought that Dylan was _seen_ by a jogger, not that one or possibly two of the possible sightings of him _were_ of a jogger.

Fwiw, there is a facebook link floating around. I think it's the Find Dylan page. So take this as you wish...The administrator states that alot of the cause of sightings is that there is an older boy in the neighborhood that looks alot like Dylan.

To me, the saying out like a light means he was still in a deep sleep. Dad might have gotten an incoherent mumbling out of him. Kids at 13 play hard and sleep hard and he was up late the Saturday before his flight. Who knows how much sleep he might have needed to catch up on. He might have just crashed and burned.

Was Dylan an experienced flyer? Could jetlag or dramamine be a factor in his going to sleep early and being "out like a light" in the early morning?

I don't know any teenager that gets up easily at 6:30 am regardless of when they went to sleep the night before.
