This was one of my first instincts.

Why would a woman who seemed to have it all throw it all away and murder a little boy? Why hate Gannon? It must be more than just temper. Murder has to be really nasty and hurting a child is egregious.

I want to offer an idea that is pure speculation on my part. NOT a rumor. Just a theory for motive.

What if Gannon saw or heard that she was seeing another man on the side AND she was already abusive to Gannon? Could she have thought he would tell his dad? Could she have began her premeditation then?

Sure, she could have opted to leave for the other man but suppose he was married too and didn’t want her?

Suppose the other man wasn’t that important to her but she couldn’t talk her way out of the issue because Gannon was 11 years old and caught on easily? It could have made her rage.

I don’t think anything is beneath her. I think she may have wanted AS but with freedom to do her own thing without children and without a spending limit. She obviously didn’t love him or his children.

I am curious to know what investigators have found.

You saw an LE source in MSM say that foul play by TS was suspected on day 2?

I've followed this case since day one, along with many others, and this is the first I'm seeing this, so a link would be handy to this info in MSM.
TIA.

It was Wed. the 29th.

January 29: News 5 Investigates receives a credible tip from law enforcement sources, alerting us that Gannon was not a runaway child and foul play is suspected. Our sources disclosed that Gannon's stepmom was considered a prime suspect. As part of our fact-checking process, Chief Investigative Reporter Eric Ross reached out to Jacqueline Kirby, the media relations manager for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office along with Sergeant Deborah Mynatt, a spokesperson for the office.

"We will not be confirming any information that you have in your email," Kirby said. "This is an active ongoing investigation in the search for an 11-year-old boy. Any information prematurely released that has not been confirmed by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office would greatly hinder this investigation and would be very irresponsible journalism."

TIMELINE: From Gannon's disappearance to an arrest

The transport team needs a bonus for having to be on her presence that long of time.
honestly, LE tries as little as possible to interact with prisoners during these transports. My cousin is LE and has had to do these extraditions, and he says they only interact with prisoners when necessary. Restroom breaks, meals etc. they need to be very careful of all interactions because it can really effect the case. So all the talk of TS, driving them crazy is likely not happening.

MOO

The reason I think she hit him with the board is that they found it in the woods. She'd have no reason to dispose of it otherwise. One sock and board she took the trouble to hide in the woods?

And her lies don't add up. Remember she didn't say anything about his hurting his foot before they found the blood in the garage.

So prior to that she had every reason to mention it if he hurt his foot. He stayed home from school because he felt sick. If he hurt his foot wouldn't she mention "He'd also hurt his foot so I wanted him to have a chance to recover."

On top of that she took him HIKING the day after she now says he hurt his foot? How does that match up. She never mentioned him hurting his foot prior to hiking. A. And B. Why woudl you take a kid hiking of all things if he hurt his foot.

She's after the fact trying to explain evidence away. I have three sons and I can't tell you how many piles of socks I've picked up while they are sitting on the couch or on the floor in front of their video games. Shoes by the door but somehow the socks come off while playing games. So that's why I think she grabbed the sock after she hit him.

I just can't figure out why she would have a 2x4.

Her story about the trip to the Hiking was a way for her to show AS that she and the kids were getting along great after he left. It wasn't part of an alibi. It was a way of her showing that everything was fine at home to AS even though it probably wasn't.

MOO

Oh I think the hike is just for her "hot body" image and instagram of her taking the kids somewhere for praise. Her mom said something like she doesnt eat burger king just beets and vegetables. Then she lied about "working out" in the basement when she could have said she was doing a million other things like she was in the shower and thats how she missed him leaving. She was on the phone with a friend in her bedroom so he just left. She was____

The sock I think just fell off while he was being moved. I think he's probably in that same area, just hasn't been found yet. In my guess he didnt leave alive and just wearing socks at home at night would make sense. Where is the shoe if he lost the sock?

IMO there had to have been other items found in that same place. Just one sock? No other clothes? The conversation between her and AS was probably being recorded, and he was advised (IMO) to just mention the sock and the bloody 2X4 to see what she would say. As someone else mentioned earlier she didn't say in puzzlement....."what? how could a sock get out in the woods so far from the house", or, "2x4 with blood, huh?". The kind of ominous underlying fact here is that the sock was separated in one manner or other from Gannon's body. Why would she be throwing away clothes in the first place? If so, why would they be single in the bed of the pickup, clothes for good will or for the trash would be in bags. And, of course why would the sock be found in near proximity to the 2x4, but far from the house. All that stuff just "blew out" of the pickup on a tight curve? And how, then, did the 2x4 get into the woods and not remain on the shoulder of the road? The sock could have blown around, but the 2x4?

I believe it was day 4.
Gannon Stauch Missing: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

“Lieutenant Mihalko said the sheriff’s office received a call about 6:55 p.m. Monday for a runaway child in the 6600 block of Mandan Drive. Police entered Gannon into missing persons databases about an hour later as an active runaway. Mihalko said deputies conducted an initial investigation that included interviews with the reporting person, identified as Gannon’s stepmom, and she told them he was last seen between 3 or 4 p.m. that day. The deputies also searched the area but did not find Gannon.

On Tuesday, Mihalko said the investigations division took over the case and began collecting information, including video surveillance, neighborhood canvass information and conducted interviews. They also followed up on additional leads and used various techniques and technology. He said the investigation continued through Wednesday and into Thursday, when it was upgraded from a runaway to an endangered missing child based upon the information that was gleaned from the investigation so far.”

Yes, and they are very very professional with handling of prisoners. They are not trying to torture her or put her through discomfort the way I’ve seen Numerous posts indicate and hope for. LE are professional, well trained people, who go by the book in their handling of prisoners. Not to say there aren’t a few bad apples.

MOO

And it seems like it would be in the best interest of LE to let her get some shut-eye before today.

Judge GRANTS the Motion for Expanded Media Coverage.

So I guess an attorney has stepped up to defend her? I doubt she would have been appointed one at this point. That would likely happen at the advisement. Am I correct? JMO MOO

ETA: The document says "the Defense filed an objection which the Court has considered".

There was no mention of blood on the sock, only on the 2X4 IIRC. And no description of the amount of blood...drips, splotches, etc. But the rest of your theory is as valid as anyone else's.

Youre right quote from crime online part 3:

Stauch added that her husband told her that Gannon’s sock and a bloody 2×4 board were found in the woods near Douglas County.

It really is amazing that she has run her mouth so much. I didn't think we would hear from her again after her first interview.

She complained so much about not being allowed to speak to a lawyer and then had five weeks to consult with or hire one, yet she never did. Either that or she did speak to a lawyer and ignored their advice. Unbelievable.

Imo

I'm thankful for her mouth diarrhea. I would've been more pissed off (actually not possible) if she'd stayed silent. Just kept talking and digging that hole deeper, thank goodness. Now I only want her to utter 2 more sentences:
"I put Gannon ________. I know it's unforgivable but I'm sorry."

Sadly, the chances of either are slim to none. :( MOO
Instead I'm putting my hope & prayers in the weather & LE to find sweet Gannon!

I thought the sock was bloody too. If someone knows for sure can we update and confirm.

"Stauch added that her husband told her that Gannon’s sock and a bloody 2×4 board were found in the woods near Douglas County. Stauch explained that her family frequently loaded up boards they didn’t need from their garage into the pickup truck, leftovers from her husband’s woodworking hobby. She claimed that there had been several accidents in the garage, which could have easily accounted for a bloodied board. When asked how the board would have ended up in the woods, Stauch said that things have flown out of the back of the truck before while she was driving. She said the same thing could have happened to the board or Gannon’s sock. When questioned whether law enforcement specifically told her about the wood or a sock, Stauch said, “LE [law enforcement] have not said one word to me, have not called me." Gannon Stauch: Stepmom says bloody board was not her fault. She’s now facing child abuse, murder charges [EXCLUSIVE PART 3]

This article never mentions the sock being bloody, just the board.

JMO
I think it was two years of systematic abuse and toxic drama that she completely lost control over.

Why 2 years? Do you think the abuse started when they moved to Colorado?

Imo, we already know she has at least 2 assault related charges. I think it's a pattern and she is just an abusive person. People who have domestic and assault charges are repeat offenders. For every arrest there are usually 100 other incidents of abuse perpetrated by the person that they never get arrested or charged for, because they commit these acts on family members and spouses who are afraid to call police. So i believe she is an abusive person. Maybe narcissistic, but definately abusive. She is simultaneously victim and hero. It takes years and years of targeted therapy for batterers not to batter or abuse. Gannon probably didn't even do anything wrong to get in trouble. Abusive people live in their own reality where they are always in the right and they manipulate situations to justify what they have done.

SO KOAA-TV has expanded access for the advisement portion. What do folks think that means for later proceedings? Anything? (I realize this order only applies for the advisement.)
Might be a different judge that handles later proceedings. This judge will only approve requests based on his own presiding cases.
