Gannon's father is a member of the National Guard, and the Guard is assisting with search efforts.

Due to his age and expected weather, the Major Crimes Unit is assisting in the search because they have more tools at their disposal.

MODS PLEASE BRING THIS POST OVER TO ALL NEW THREADS UNLESS THERE IS AN ARREST.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THIS WHOLE POST HERE IS THE SHORT VERSION. WE CANNOT IGNORE GANNON'S STEPMOTHER POSSIBLE INVOLVEMENT IN HIS DISAPPEARANCE BASED ON THE VIDEOTAPE. THIS IS A RARE CASE WHERE WE WILL ALLOW MEMBERS TO DISCUSS THE STEPMOTHER HOWEVER DO NOT TRASH HER OR CALL HER NAMES LIKE YOU ARE ON A PLAYGROUND. DISCUSS THE FACTS AND LEAVE THE NAME-CALLING TO FACEBOOK GROUPS. YOU OWN YOUR WORDS. A GOOD WAY TO DECIDE IF YOU SHOULD POST SOMETHING OR NOT IS ASK YOURSELF IF YOU COULD DEFEND WHAT YOU POST IN A COURT OF LAW. ALSO PLEASE USE HER INITIALS.

Dear Everyone,

Rarely are things black and white when it comes to the Websleuths rules.

One of our rules is we cannot accuse just anyone of a crime. Good rule. Another rule we do our best to follow is unless law enforcement says someone is a suspect or even a person of interest we cannot accuse anyone connected to a case of a crime.

Then we have our great big gray areas. Like Gannon's case.

It is rare these days for law enforcement to actually say someone is a suspect but we have to use our common sense.

Take the case of the missing children of Lori Vallow. Her behavior and the fact that people around her are dropping dead leaves us with the very logical conclusion that she has done something with her children and therefore we do allow our members to discuss this case with Lori and her husband Chad as possible perps involved in her missing children.

Mark Sievers was just convicted of 1st-degree murder in the death of his wife Dr. Teresa Sievers even though he was hundreds of miles away when she was murdered. Early on we allowed our members to discuss Mark Sievers as a suspect because of what our members discovered and it was only common sense that he was a suspect.

Then there is the case of Heidi Broussard. Her boyfriend was 100 percent innocent in her disappearance and her murder but many members decided to accuse him of being involved because he was awkward in front of the camera. I hope that those who felt it was OK to accuse a man when there was no evidence to suggest he had anything to do with the crime will re-think before they ever do something like that again. Remember, unless the Internet blows up, Heidi and Shane's children could (one day) read your words about their father.

Your words have power. You are responsible for your opinions. We cannot babysit this thread 24/7.

Always imagine you are standing in front of the person you are posting about. Imagine that person knows your real name and where you live. Imagine that person has the power to go on a forum and say something about you. Now, this scenario is strictly a fantasy but it is a great guideline to use when you post.

Below is the short version of this post.

ADMIN NOTE:

This post lands at random.

It is against Websleuths TOS to be rude toward or personalize against members, whether individually or collectively.

Differing opinions are welcome at WS, but they should be based on some known fact from MSM or LE rather than simply making accusations (whether against members, neighbours, or LE) with no facts to substantiate.

Please do not name call or ridicule members for strongly anticipating a negative outcome in this case when, after 7,000 investigative hours, there is still no sign of Gannon being alive. Websleuths members have a lot of collective wisdom, knowledge and experience in these types of scenarios. Common sense tell members that Dan May does not show up for a runaway kid, LE does not have crime lab techs going through a house or LE digging endlessly through snowbanks if they think, or are wanting the public to think, they are looking for a live runaway.

Thanks.

Can we talk about TS's suspended teaching certificate now, the circumstances surrounding the ruling etc, now that it's outlined on in a MSM source? The actual documents are publicly available. Because it points to a pattern of deception, also hints at motive, imo.
Yes you can

We're out of patience with posts about the carpet video. Starting to feel like "if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear".

I have made at least 3 posts advising members not to discuss the carpet video.

In addition, CocoChanel has made the following post which is one of the opening posts of this and previous threads:

The sheriff's office does encourage the public to come forward if they believe they saw or heard something that could be relevant to the case.

"Even the smallest piece of information may prove valuable in solving this case and could consist of things as simple as anyone remembering suspicious vehicles or people they saw in or around the area on the date."

But warned against calling in with baseless suggestions, no matter how well-meaning.

"Somebody called in and told us to check every trunk in the city," Mynatt said, giving an example. "We have to then take that, log it in, put it all in, then have a conversation with someone else on if we are going to do this, if we are going to take this lead. That takes precious time away from the investigation.

"We are not asking for suggestions, we are not asking for theories or speculation. We are asking for factual information that you saw with your own eyes.

"If you waste the time of these detectives you’re taking time away from the potential of us finding Gannon and it’s so important that you understand that.”

I think the sheriff is asking for factual tips at this time and not theories or suggestions. LE is probably on top of things and must have their hands full with the 800 plus tips already submitted.

And while I'm posting I'd like to add that it's concerning that LS felt she needed to drive around looking for Gannon in a car he wouldn't recognize.

Stauch said, “the plan was to look for Gannon in a car he would not recognize.” Stauch added that they didn’t know if Gannon would hide from his family’s cars, thinking he was in trouble.
Gannon Stauch: Stepmom explains rental car as search for missing Colorado boy continues [EXCLUSIVE PART 2]

Why on earth would it occur to her that nearly 24 hours after he disappeared he would still care about being in trouble? If he had actually ran away wouldn't she be more concerned about him being cold, tired, hungry, thirsty and scared?

It makes me think Gannon was often worried about "being in trouble." Poor little guy. MOO.

Yeah, I'm with you... it didn't seem normal. He seemed to think that he could guarantee whom he was looking at, from some dark-haired moppets screeching around the supermarket parking lot on bikes. Based upon stuff I've heard about eyewitness testimony, people are notoriously bad at reading and remembering faces, and are generally lucky to have even noted someone with the same coloring (hair, maybe eyes) as the person being sought.
Totally agree with you. He didn't seem normal because he wasn't normal. Someone who wanted their 15 minutes of fame. Another red herring!

MsMarple you nailed this!

I do see what you are saying. Ticks me off that it could be another lucky break for someone. That’s aggravating. I was hoping it would be more structured. I hope LE can figure out the truth to the mileage if they haven’t already.
Maybe someone test drove the car before it was delivered to the car rental company. ‍♀️

I just clicked on the links of the dog parks and this makes more sense to me. She was probably more familiar with this area since she does have dogs and does hike. I am now wondering if she did purchase dog coats to go there also and if there is some sort of link.

My exact thought, but not everything has been confirmed in MSM. Premeditated, planned, a very, very complicated puzzle.....But again, those pesky videos from the neighbor ruining everything. Showing dogs never left the house to enjoy a possible dog park visit or showing no GS returning. JMO.

I’ve heard Kansas, Utah, and Texas today. Sure wish TS would clear that up.
Yup. In her next word salad she will probably say ' I went to Ogden quickly to get tickets to the Dinosaur museum because G is interested in becoming a palaeontologist but I came right back home to exchange the doggie sweaters before I had to return the rental. '

I think LE has gathered evidence from the house. I also think Tee is doing damage control and misleading the investigation at the same time..... with all her word salad. If we believe Tee was the last person to see Gannon and he has not been found, then where is he?

This is chapter and verse from the narcissist handbook. The victim is the villain, and the villain is the hero. She makes Gannon sound like a fugitive from justice. And she’s cleverly setting the trap that will ‘catch’ him.

Everything she’s saying is contrary to how the average person would think and react.

FWIW, I just re-watched the first presser where his parents spoke. In retrospect, alongside what we now know, I think LE knew very quickly that LS was lying, and they were all over her footprint. I don’t see any serious gap between his runaway status initially and the updated missing/endangered status. I believe they were extremely concerned early on that serious harm had come to him and were investigating accordingly. What a stunning contrast between the parents and LS. LE also talked to neighbors, and were already seeing that Gannon did not appear in any camera in the area. They knew early on it was neither a runaway or an abduction.

I hope they can find him, but I fear she didn’t risk leaving him in a natural environment.

This is a very personal topic for me. I have a family member who fits the mold for narcissistic disorder. He's also an addict. The main point is, he lies constantly, and whenever he is around, there is always turmoil, strife, drama, lies, and a constant need for attention! Its exhausting dealing with him. He gaslights any scenario you throw at him, he's never wrong and he is a big time victim. For instance, his addiction is a disease he was born with. There's excuses for everything! Sorry for the off topic rant, but people like this are exhausting! To your point, LS is definitely playing victim and villian, keeping everyone listening to whatever she says while giving no direct information as to where Gannon is. Lots of smoke and mirrors!

just a thought but once AS returned home wouldn't it be unlikely TS would have been able to take his truck as he would be likely to
want it himself?
the hire care then becomes essential as TS knows her car has tracking
