The murder trial for Letecia Stauch is resuming now. Today, jurors will be hearing about one of the sanity evaluations conducted on Stauch after she was accused of murdering her stepson Gannon back in January 2020. I'll be bringing you updates here on Twitter throughout the day.

Essentially, it's about cell phone data and cell phone towers, how each 'transaction' only uses one tower.

Their team doesn't analyse the actual phones, they do use the data that comes from that. Data from the phone, from the phone company, and other geolocation data.

Your phone is essentially a small handheld radio. Scanning for towers all the time, ranking which ones are best. When you make a call or a text or receive one, it goes to what it thinks is 'best' at that moment.

When they receive data they map out times and dates of interest with the record of activity.

Talking through their procedure and validation process, now.

The 'bread and butter of what CAST does' is finding fugitives, missing persons, kidnapped persons, using these techniques.

Agent Hoyland is qualified as an expert witness.
