The mom may have been given legal advice to avoid appearing on camera and answering questions from the media. IMO, if she is smart, she will take that advice. There is nothing she can say to the media that can bring her daughter back. Perps that abduct children have no conscience. Best for her to leave the Q&A to LE.

As we can see all it took was one picture for people to start after her. I'm sure not going to begrudge the woman some air.
So many reasons she may not be willing or able to speak to the public yet.

Per the article about searching the home...It's possible that the homeowner did not answer because he/she thought the media was at the door looking for a story. It's also possible that the person was trying to avoid the police.

The homeowner or the occupant was a sex offender. That is why he didn't answer the door. Just my opinion.. Actually TWO offenders according to the article.

They said the home was near the sex offenders. They didn't say that it belonged to the sex offenders. Poor journalism. It's too unclear. Any reports of them bringing out lights for night searching in back yards? I hope not...

ITA. And honestly if it were my child, I don't know that I could hold it together enough to go on camera and give a plea. I'd be afraid of having a complete meltdown, and then having that become the focus instead of finding my daughter.

I feel so much for this mom :( I am a single mother of an only child myself, and we have such a close bond because it's just the two of us. If she were ever ripped away from me like this, I would die. What a nightmare!

Please God, bring this precious child back to her mothers loving arms :please:

There's still the option that she was taken by someone who was not a stranger and not an immediate family member -- a more distant relative, a friend of the family, an older sibling or parent of a friend, for instance. Even a neighbor might fall into that category.

But how would that not be an abduction?

It would be an abduction, but not a stranger abduction. It would be targeted at that particular child, not at area children in general, and other people would be unlikely to be in any danger.

You may be coorrect..I was via mobile this afternoon and was going by the fact of it being posted on the missing fb site yesterday and wasnt able to search the internet to verify if in fact it had been released elsewhere already..maybe its connected..maybe its not..

But i will say this..LE is ABSOLUTELY looking into these attempted abductions by the suspect in the sketch..you damn well better believe they are regardless of when or where they previously released this sketch..and thats for the simple fact that these attempts were made 8miles from where Jessica was abducted, TWICE WITHIN THIS LAST MONTH(Sept 9th and Sept 14th)....so whether lE is indicating its connected(and they wouldnt be releasing that info publicly) or not i stand by my opinion that theres a good chance at it being the suspect in the sketch that abducted Jessica!

Snip:

Arvada Police are investigating the two attempted abductions. The first occurred last Sunday around 5:30 p.m., near 77th Drive and Terry Court. An 8-year-old boy was playing basketball in his driveway when he says he was approached by a man.

The second incident happened three days later Wednesday, again around 5:30 p.m. This time, the suspect went into the parking lot of Fitzmorris Elementary School in Arvada and approached a 9-year-old boy. He again offered the child candy if he would get into the suspect's car. This child also ran from the suspect.

These are the two attempted lurings that took place in early to mid September in Arvada. But I have my doubts that the suspect in those two cases is responsible for Jessica's abduction. Since both luring victims were young boys (8 and 9 years old), I don't know that this suspect would be interested in a 10 year old girl. He's pretty much established his preference to be young boys.

Obviously there are cases where pedophiles abuse both sexes, but statistically speaking it is not that common. Probably less than 25%, although that is just a guesstimate on my part.

LE will obviously look at this suspect in connection with Jessica's disappearance, they'd be remiss if they didn't. But I doubt LE seriously considers this person to be a viable suspect. If they did, LE would tell people to be looking for a specific vehicle (as described in the articles about the suspect) in connection with Jessica's abduction. But they haven't.

Nevertheless, it's good that this suspect's picture is being circulated, because now a lot more people will be aware of him and might possibly stop a child from being harmed. JMO

People didn't "start after her". They asked logical questions or refuted the "paparazzi" comments. Hopefully in our unified focus on bringing Jessica home, we can agree that different things may jump out at different posters, and different perspectives are valued.

IIRC, the closest RSO lives on Moore Circle? I'll go look it up ...

Two prayer gatherings for Jessica Ridgeway are scheduled to happen at the same time Tuesday night. They will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Community Park in Superior, which is at Indiana St. and Coalton Ave. The other location is Kensington Park in Westminster, Countryside Dr. and Moore St.

I do not envy the search teams. God bless them. From the pictures, some of the areas they were searching look massive.

This is all very fresh to her and will be for a long time to come.It could be that she did intend to speak but couldn't go through with it.
Could be the media stopped stalking the house and she thought she would step outside for a moment. And of course they were on her as soon as she did.
I think at some point a spokesperson will speak for the family.
It is a nightmare.I can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through.

IMO

FBI agents arrived at the home a few minutes later and all of them went inside the house.

Joseph reports two sex offenders live near the home that was the subject of this particular visit from law enforcement.

from article

They showed two houses being entered. One with blue shutters and one with brown shutters across the street. The one with brown shutters is the one with the white service truck...and possibly left yesterday pulling away with a motor home. IMO...and has profession to take him all over around the area. JMO, IMO, etc.

Oops, you are right. But, home of or near to what difference. Sex offenders on the same street or near. To me that is scary. jmo

Jessica Ridgeway's missing-child case brings flood of memories to the parent of Jaryd Atadero

"I mean everyone says 'I don't know what you're going through' and they're right. But if I could talk to Jessica's mom, I want to put my arms around her and say, 'You know what? I do understand what you're going through. Let me help you if I can because it is a long hard road and hopefully we'll find Jessica soon,'" Atadero said.

I've been trying to catch up, but earlier in the thread I read that LE was searching a neighbor's backyard. I just wondered if it was the same neighbor who said he hadn't seen Jessica since Thurs. evening. It seemed strange the way it was worded. Maybe the reporter asked him if he saw Jessica Friday morning and he simply stated that he last saw her Thurs evening, which would not necessarily mean anything unusual - maybe he never saw her in the morning.

I hope Jessica is found soon and returned home safely.

Of course we all come at this with our own perceptions and I feel as though the mother was found lacking for not speaking to the media.
I'm not going to make any judgment against her for staying silent as I know she must be in a great deal of pain and very possibly shock.
Since we were asked to move away from posting about the mother,I will move on.

I am not fond of this Justin Joseph's reporting. He is the one that took the photo of the mother and various family members coming out of their house. He took it with his cell phone and posted it on his own PERSONAL PRIVATE photo site.

There was no plethora of media outside with microphones and big cameras, just this <modsnip> 'so called journalist' with his cell phone, lurking and tweeting.

In addition, we know that the two sex offenders that live in the area are some distance, I believe, from whatever house he is implying was visited by law enforcement. Really bad, disingenuous reporting, IMO. The photo published by his Fox station was his photo, from his cellphone, and was severely cropped.

All my opinion.

I am surprised to hear that there's only one reporter outside of a house where a missing child, whose case has gotten local and national coverage, lives....

So, how far away were they? And how do you know this? Is there a map? Just would like to compare for myself. TIa
